As for the lights in the pharmacy.
When working in the car factory, we had low level florescent lighting.
And quite a few of us suffered from headaches and migraines occasionally.
We had a guy come in from the union, and he told us, that any flickering from the lighting, wether the tube was new or on its way out, the connections will affect some people.
Not long after that, a filter was attached to them, the number of headaches diminished.
In our press shop, by health and safety, the lights had to be those suitable to the work going on. They were coloured an umber(?) Orangey colour. Great for night working, the strain etc.

I am no good with any flickering lights, they trigger a visual migraine immediately @Lamont D

I have some amber/pink wraparound glasses. They help with flickering lights. But I cannot carry around my arsenal of spectacles for every situation...

Thanks @Annb The roast veggies and crackling were good. From time to time I need a red meat roast for family cohesion and that is about all pork has to offer me. More importantly, I spent time with my son and grandchildren so I would probably even have managed a mouthful of leg of lamb.

Yes, I really enjoy trying different varieties. I used the huge yellow ones with pink insides to make chutney. Very pleased that it retained its colour.
Although next year I plan to have more plum tomatoes for cooking and fewer baby plum and cherry tomatoes.

Cut the grass yesterday, despite it still being quite wet. Was the best opportunity since for over a week. Today have cut the grass again. Once more looking like a hayfield. Raked up cuttings and leaves from the grass in front of the house. Following advice from a male friend cut all of it again but in the opposite direction. Gives an interesting checked effect. Not sure it helped to disperse the mounds of grass cuttings though. Kept Kiki inside all day until about 4pm. Much to her annoyance. After much pestering and calling at the doors I put her to bed. She slept for six hours until I woke her to go outside.
Strange incident yesterday, some people unexpectedly arrived wanting to view the house. They just turned up in the garden while I was mowing. Not sure what to do, I showed them round and we exchanged details, However I am not happy that they are trying to avoid paying the agents fees. It's possible that we could end up paying them. When here it is usually the buyer who pays agents fees. So going to ignore them unless they make contact again. In which case we will direct them to the agent.
Still its good to know that some people drove for three hours to look at the house.

Edited to add: Of course they were looking at two others nearby as well.

The weather people have forecast a temperature of 12degrees.
At 3pm. Dodging the cold wet wind to my thermometer, I was shocked to see it was only 5degrees (in September?) It is horrible out there.
Under orders it is toasty warm, where Mrs L is sitting in the front room with a few layers on.

Doggy and dad according to the footie commentary. Spurs winning.

The Ballad of Smallhope and Pennyroyal.
It's a good romp.

More like unopposed at times. Darren Bent is an old boy of my last school - came back a few times, no show off, turned into a nice man. 13°C outside here.

I was in the same class at my grammar school who played a shed load of games and managed them a coup!e of times in the 80's. Oops, Colchester.
A bit of a legend there.
I have been three times since and I have left messages etc with their staff, and even tho, he doesn't live too far from there. He didn't attend the games or get back to me.
And

I agree, man u were shocking.
Sunday pub team better says man u spokesman for sky.

We did enjoy our trip to Centre Paws. Poppy really enjoyed being off the lead and greeting all the other dogs so we stayed in the field. Everyone was so friendly.

The coffee was good and they had cream - which I was really pleased with.

We did have a problem finding it. The postcode on their website took us down a single track road in the middle of nowhere and the sat nav said we had reached our destination - which we clearly had not.
The postcode for the cafe, which is in the middle of Centre Paws, had a different last letter. Luckily it worked and the sat nav took us down the correct road.

I did have a very small corner of Mr K's flapjack @gennepher. It was delicious. Then I was really good and had my Montazumas Orange 100%. The coffee was good too and the chairs were really comfortable.

It was so nice to let Poppy off the lead in a safe environment. Her recall was so good until she was 10 when she decided that it was more fun to go exploring than to come back when we called her.

We did have a lovely relaxing time @ianpspurs. We will definitely be going there again - hopefully we will remember which postcode to use in the sat nav.

Woke up late for me today...

There was sun at dawn, but it is now cold, icy with a promise of rain.

Fed the strays.

Managed a kaleidoscope pic with Laboscope in my garden (Kaleider Kaleidoscopes are lovely, but there are a lot of moving pictures within it as it scrolls through a pile of stuff - too much for my sensitive eyes at the mo)...
