This however, despite at first glance being funny, was a real mess with disatrous implications for many. Personally quite difficult as so many of my family who I love (including the sadly now departed) deeply are part of the membership who voted for her and all those who laid the path for her. I have never seen this 3 legged badger before. It is a young badger & appears to have one rear leg missing. Did it happen at birth? Or is he injured and holding it up? This young badger is only a few months old, but seems well fed and healthy, which might be the reason I have not seen very much of Ma Badger recently. I am assuming because of the presence of Pa Badger (and Foxy Loxy) that this 3 legged badger is Pa Badger's son or daughter.

The eyes on the right belong to Cat Jade.

I watched it through to the final episode. It reminded me so much of other beeb detective series.
And his character seemed to lose some of the quirks, to become really comfortable doing the detecting thingy, even showing off, performing perhaps.
I will have a look at the Chelsea kojak thingy.

We have the same mate. I said at the time of installation, that having both sides of the stairs to steady oneself is brilliant.
 
We don't have forests, just a few ents dotted about.
For two reasons, maybe more.....
1 We cut them down for building ships, houses and barricades too keep out the Welsh.
2 We cut them down, so Mancs or southerners, couldn't ambush us. By hiding behind them.
Ooh yeah....... The likes of the Vikings, Normans, Celts, Angles, Saxons, Francs, and to some extent the Irish,
Never conquered Mercia. It was robbed away after the wars of the roses.

I waffle on. Back up to 7.1 again, eating again, feel thinner tho.
Mrs L has a bit of a tumble, nowt worrying but, her balance isn't playing as such. There was incidents and accidents, hints and allegations. And a machine full of bedding, followed by a coloured wash. Bedroom business to do, (Behave!)

Busy, gotta go, enjoy your weekend.

I have had some problems with YouTube recently. They appear to have been throttling (is that the right word) my views, and I was just getting 1 or 3 views for days on end instead of a few hundred for each video. So I went through all YouTube's explanations for this. And I was initially flummoxed. Seems that their AI/Bot/or whatever was thinking that I was infringing YouTube guidelines for posting.

But I was not infringing anything, so I watched each of my relevant videos with abysmal viewings. And I realised that the first clip on each of those with abysmal viewings was of the Fox coming in. This is Foxy Loxy. He comes in in exactly the same manner, exactly the same angle, and looks at the swing in exactly the same way, and then turns left into the bushes in exactly the same manner and the same way. I came to the conclusion that the AI or bot was assuming I was repeating my clips... and if YouTube thinks you are repeating stuff, they come down on you like a ton of bricks in one way or another.

Fortunately, I still had the originals of most of these videos. So I deleted all of those which just had 1, 2 or 3 viewings (apart from a couple which had some comments on them ) Then to my sadness, I had to take out Foxy Loxy from the beginning of pretty much most of them.

My foxes and badgers and cats are not paid actors, they do their own thing and I can't help it if they are creatures of habit and do exactly the same thing each time they come in my garden. AI seems to be interpreting that as I am repeating my clips.

Now, my viewings are back up to the hundreds again. And that was my answer... I shall have to have a word with the beasties to come in, in a different manner.... actually the answer is to put a few peanuts in a location for them to come in and smell and eat, and then they will go for the peanuts and then come back into the garden in a slightly different manner. I only need some subtle variations for YouTube AI/Bot to see it is a different clip of Foxy Loxy each time he comes in the garden...


Creative...Brusho powder pigments. On a blank postcard. Mixed some pigments into watercolour paints. Fine water spray, either before or after I apply the paint with brush or credit card. Drew the willow tree (using The Mustard Seed Garden for inspiration and instruction) when postcard dry with my black fountain pen (mislaid my multitude of Japanese brush pens for the moment). Then Brusho pigments. Sprayed the willow tree with water (I was fearful it might bleed, but my fountain pen ink appears to be waterproof) then picked up a few grains of pigment and sprinkled them. Repeat a few times for more leaves. Then leave to dry...

I'm not sure whether throttling is the right word either @gennepher but we know what you mean. Thankfully, your detective work has solved the riddle of the disappearing views on YouTube.

Dr Geoff Hinton et al are worried that AI could become more intelligent than ourselves. If this is any guide, we'll be safe for centuries to come!

Good morning everyone on a back to nice and cozy overcast here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 this a.m. All my hard work as an apprentice laundry maid paid off yesterday as Mrs Miggins did a huge pile of batch ironing. Nothing of mine. I just fold my meagre rags and put them away - ironing a her age - what’s that all about? I am instructed to wake her at 0830 - she and two of her sisters are traveling down to Kent to attend a funeral. A friend recently informed me that if there are people who upset me, then I should write them all letters pouring out my grievances and then burn them. But what do I do then with all those letters afterwards? Art bit - I bought a new 7” x 5” watercolour block (where all the sheets are glued round the edges apart from one tiny place to get a knife into to cut free - saves taping paper to a board). The protective inner cover is grey so I used it to paint on. Hope your day is nicely tinted with Autumn. I best make koffy and get a prodder ready for waking the sleeping bear.

Morning all from a confused L.A. The causes of the confusion? partly corporate branding and partly residents and retailers mixing all sorts of temporal, and spiritual festivals, many with a bob each way - pagan and Christian. The corporate branding means some signage, waste bins etc still use the old Forest Heath (more appropriate given the actual flora and fauna) while most use the new, administratively correct, West Suffolk. Some homes and businesses are bedecked for all of Halloween, November 5th. Thanksgiving and Christmas. Front doors can rotate wreaths (with appropriate legend) for each. The shops don't actually know where to focus with the result they do none well. Meanwhile, I know not my fbg so I've really wasted your valuable time. One granddaughter has been watching a strange version of Toad of Toad Hall lately so Pip Pip Old Toots.

Welcome to silly season or more correctly, money grabbing season where all manor of tat is sold under the guise of “having fun”. Being neither pagan nor Christian nor even a fan of strange practices from the US of crazy A, we don’t indulge in ersatz fun - bad enough seeing decaf koffy on the menu in our local cafe. This is why bears, dormice, bats, hedgehogs and other sensible creatures hibernate though the crazy times.

Betty, thank you for a very droll post. Paul Simon reference and the quip about burning friends were sublime. Far be it from me to offer advice to such a fine chap but I'd hold off on the bear bating : that was part of the reason for the Sunday Observance laws and, like many, I do like watching sport on Sunday. Thank you for sharing yet more splendid art. Have a song for no reason other than I really like it - @Lamont D and you started this whole Paul Simon thing. It does fit the conspicuous consumption theme, have you chosen this year's colourway for Holiday season? :playful: Your local cafe must be very traditional, no pumpkin spiced range of warm or iced beverages - how very quaint. Now, that kg tub of peanut butter won't eat itself and I need meds (not for that, I'm as sane as the rest here in Bedlam Towers) so Moscow.

Well. I tried. Phoned the Health Centre booking line at 07.30. Got straight through (good start), went through all the keying in this, that and the other to let them know who I was, pressed the key for making appointments only to be told that I have 4 appointments already (with the nurse for my leg bandaging) so am not allowed to book any further appointments. Well, I thought I'd be smart and cancel the appointment I had for 31st October to allow me to replace it with one for the GP. Cancelled 31st October, no problem. Tried again to book a GP appointment but "You have 3 appointments booked and cannot book any more." Can't even reinstate the 31st October one. Feeling somewhat frustrated.

BG at 05.00 today was 7.9 but soon started to rise to 8.9, but now is back down to 7.7. Cup of coffee, I think. That'll push it back up, but I don't care. Maybe the coffee will improve my mood.
 
Fbg this morning 4.3 this obviously being a Libre best guess but who am I to argue.
I would not say that the stairs here are excessively steep and dangerous but the work person who came to fit the new handrail the other day did manage to loose his footing and slip down three steps fortunately he did not hurt himself but I do find it strangely ironic that the person sent to fit the new rail has an accident on the stairs while doing so.

What is really interesting is that I did 6 hours teaching with not even a one minute break between classes and 1:1s then drove home to do 75 minute zoom class and wasn't even tired. If I had done admin sitting at the compter for that amount of time I would have been completely exhausted.
 
About this friends business .... A man I first met in 1974 (shared a flat with him and 2 others in what became nicknamed the Olympic village) went through some hard times with his mental health but bounced back and, now in his 70s, still works in education and travels here and quite regularly to Europe and especially to the USA. He sends these blogs from time to time but this is a longer version. Some of you may enjoy the photos and the variety of places he visits. The text always sounds in my head in a very broad "Cass" accent. ( Sorry Gordon It is Tottenham Hotspur no S) He was an usher at our wedding, godfather to #2 son and we plan/hope to meet him plus the best man and his wife later in the month to celebrate 40 years.
