What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

According to Libre 5.0 on waking this morning but now 3.6 I think well hope it is misreading the situation but refuse to jab in order to verify that.
I now have a new handrail going up or even down the stairs this is not a replacement for the one that had been recently repaired twice but an additional one on the other side of the stairs this is the result of a visit by an occupational therapist a few weeks back this makes navigating the stairs so much easier not just for me but also for Judith as she is suffering the effects from an injury she sustained when a young girl at school from a blanket tossing incident.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those at the coal face of life.

4.7 on that meter this morning, oh goody, a toasted jam sarnie for breakfast along with a reduced insulin dosage. Listen, it works for me. :) .

Mrs J is moving around and my peace and quiet is about to be shattered with demands I make her early ( ? ) morning tea.

Yes dear, coming……..

Good morning everyone on what looks likely to be another bright summers day but without the heat here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this a.m. I have been given the gift of laundry functionary it seems. One load of laundry in the machine ready for hanging out and another basket full eagerly awaiting their turn like a shuffling queue of punters spending far too much of their life waiting to get a 30 second ride at Alton Towers or some other modern version of a Roman arena. Art bit - I had no idea where this was going but perhaps the chimp inside my head took charge while I was distracted - anyhow, there it is. Hope your day is a kind one. Best make some koffy and then get on with laundry duties.
I love this 'No idea where it was going' @dunelm
Absolutely perfect...

Cognitive function tests?
Pretty sure the professor conducting would have told me, but if I'm honest, I was just nodding to everything & taking little in, really.

One thing mentioned stuck out

End of session, prof gone.
I spoke to doctor, asked a few questions.

Mention was made of the exercise being a map

One a map of JJ mark 1.
The other a map of JJ post smackdown.

I think the idea being to find the missing bits and try to find the right people to fill in or repair the ' *gaps '. ?

So both maps match/agree as much as possible...as I understood it .

Happy to get more seasoned advice, though .

*Gaps, As in strengths/abilities, etc

Good news on the second multi-directional handrail.

Winner and hugs for you @JohnEGreen and Judith for the long lasting after effects of that childhood blanket tossing prank which happens often at school.
It brings to mind when I was 16, and the girls had plans to toss the head girl in a similar manner because it was the end of her year. But the head girl was pregnant, and no one else knew, and she begged me not to tell the other girls. I didn't, but I was her shadow for her last few days. Then on the final day, I said don't come in, I don't think I can stop it happening today...and she stayed at home.
I am still in contact with her...we write...
And she had a baby girl...

Perhaps they are trialling an idea for a game show?

I think 'survivor' would be a good name for it ....mmhh

@ianpspurs is right.

Each practice is a business, each using its own formatted concoction of what "works" sadly .

Hope you get resolution AND that much needed appointment.

As for cold, who knows.
But flight back many coughing & chatting about a COVID wave hitting so many .

Seems from twitter the first winter wave is incoming .

My Lauren felt pretty rough last few days, I was luckier had one day slightly off colour.

Cold, sunstroke, COVID...who knows anymore .

But better not to spread it
So masked up on way home.
And into appointment at GP & yesterday's deep dive .

And yes, many rolled eyes at 'why, it doesn't exist, dummy'

Which isn't the reason,.
Did we learn nothing from that time, I felt like shouting .

Being healthy is GOOD

If we're not healthy and can NOT avoid going out, can't we at least limit the harm we MIGHT do to those who just might be a little more vulnerable ....?

NO....seems the prevailing response, sadly .

So they do them
I do me .

Hugs for the cold
Prayers for the appointment.
Thanks for the good wishes. The cold seems to be coming back again atm, but only in my head, so I can cope with that. Before 2020, we just had colds, or flu. We never worried about them. I would never visit anyone I felt might be vulnerable if I had a cold but nobody thought twice about it. Now we assume that the slightest cough or sniffle might be Covid. To me this just feels like an old-fashioned cold.

Viewing on this lovely sunny day means I will have to do extra careful cleaning in the kitchen, having previously noticed how the sunlight reveals every smear and speck of dust.. But I want to be outside. Grump , grump.

In Judith’s case it was not a prank but part of a PE lesson something I don’t think would be allowed in this day and age.

Morning all on a standard early October day here in the oh so not Exotic East. My fbg remains one of life's known unknowns.which in many ways is for the best. Quite difficult to absorb all the posts since my last visit into anything very relatable. Blanket tossing isn't a thing I have encountered whereas teenage pregnancy is. Staying in touch with people I knew at 16 - totally outside my experience. I understand family but friends are largely (well) outside my comfort zone. I’m told I’m quite “clubbable” but I simply don’t feel the need. Toasted jam sandwiches - very much never likely to pass my lips. As @jjraak rightly says you do you - all I add is enjoy yourself if it does no one any harm. @JohnEGreen good news on the additional handrail. @jjraak hug for the confusion of the tests but the idea of filling in the post-trauma gaps sounds promising. @dunelm thank you for sharing your art once again. Are trees somehow significant in a way I don't know or do you just like drawing/painting them? @Krystyna23040 sounds as though you have the energy to breeze through another busy day. We've all been gifted another day which we can, hopefully, use to help and bring joy to others, honour to our maker and even some pleasure to ourselves.

A Badger then a 3 legged Badger comes in, then an altercation between Pa Badger & Foxy Loxy.

I have never seen this 3 legged badger before. It is a young badger & appears to have one rear leg missing. Did it happen at birth? Or is he injured and holding it up? This young badger is only a few months old, but seems well fed and healthy, which might be the reason I have not seen very much of Ma Badger recently. I am assuming because of the presence of Pa Badger (and Foxy Loxy) that this 3 legged badger is Pa Badger's son or daughter.

The eyes on the right belong to Cat Jade.

Creative... Brusho pigments...same technique as yesterday...creating a mess today...disaster....you can see the overspray of the pigment on the white surround...¿

Having a nap then starting the day again.

Have a good day...

@gennepher I can't say I've ever seen a three legged badger so that was interesting. Thank you for sharing that very colourful creative which is far from a mess. This however, despite at first glance being funny, was a real mess with disatrous implications for many. Personally quite difficult as so many of my family who I love (including the sadly now departed) deeply are part of the membership who voted for her and all those who laid the path for her. Absolutely no impact on them, not that I wish there was. I do detect regret from them but Truss still seems to be in complete denial. Full piece here.

Thank you @ianpspurs - I just like trees, they are quite misunderstood.

A smashing disaster - reminds me of old and gnarled trees in western US deserts.

And plonked near adverts for British cheese. According to Terry Pratchett, many a blue plaque indicate that quite a few soon to be famous people were born half way up a wall.

Ah, you have Ents up there in the D and D North. Here, we only have forests a plenty which aren't misunderstood as far as I know. There are also a (fair) few Forrests. Lizzy T herself once had Thetford as a stronghold and Matty H was our MP. West Suffolk now has another of Billy Smart's finest.

So plenty of Forrests - none of them misunderstood.

It’s the difference between the National Truss (lots of forests, parklands and posh houses) and the Thetford Truss - it’s an iceberg Jim, but not as you know it.
