What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning All 7.7 but have been succumbing to carb creep since my hols in Sept. So I really to sign up to carb rehab. Also increasing my weight.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
Love the phrase "carb creep" because that is exactly my weakness too. Tried to aim for 50g per day but has crept up to an average of 100 or even 150 at times. If I had my way and did not have to fit in with family I could probably do it but I have noticed the meals getting a bit carbier as time goes by. Typical comments such as "a little bit of rice won't do you any harm" or " nobody died from a slice of toast or a cake" and "just have the one more pint or another glass of Baileys" have crept into my daily life both at home and work.
I am finding the social aspect so much more difficult to manage and I am not a rampant socialite either. Maybe I should book myself into a monastery for the next 12 months. @PenguinMum see you in rehab,

For me food pairing seems to be more important than timing, were all different

Hi. -? What do you mean by food pairing ?
[/QUOTE]
I can eat more carbs if paired with fat & proteins
Ie,
3 scrambled egg on small slice of wholemeal toast for breakfast
Couple of roasties for Sunday lunch with loads of meat & veggies
Have a small cox’s apple most afternoons at work with either peanut butter butter or cheddar & almonds
Would never eat carbs on their own

Been back on the meter the last few days ( missed yesterday altogether because up at 3am and the little sleep that I had was so bad I thought it was pointless to test . Anyway Friday was 6.5 and this morning 7.8 . Putting a new sensor on tomorrow.

Oh I get you now ….. that used to work for me but now I find that even small amounts of carb affect me in a negative way. - eg for lunch everyone had roast beef veg and spuds me just the roast beef and a splash of gravy.

6.0 this lovely morning.
i received some of my blood numbers back. My fasting insulin is now 41 pmol/L (was 28 two years ago), which translates to 5.9 mU/L, on the low end of normal. Fasting glucose was 6.4. This gives me a HOM–IR of 1.7. HOMA-IR stands for Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance. Anything above 2.0 suggests insulin resistance, so I am not.
i am waiting on my c peptide, should be here sometime next week.
i just love numbers!
my son is coming for a visit next weekend….I'm so excited to see him, its been awhile.
donating blood tomorrow. Doc said if I feel faint again this time that I shouldn’t donate in the future. I’m going to eat lots and drink a bunch of electrolytes.

Without sounding a bit rude, I sometimes find abstaining from bad food harder than abstaining from well you know what
