We have just changed to our slightly warmer Autumn quilt @gennepher . The ginger biscuit sounds delicious.

The Girl In The Bubble stayed over last night and is already cheering up the day with a song and a dance. A bit colder yesterday but we had a smashing walk into town and down along the lower prom. Quite a lot of Japanese students about - I think from the Teikyo University of Japan in Durham programme. Managed nearly 6 miles and not too achy even after a climb up the cliff steps. Some days it can be quite slow and painful but yesterday was pretty good. You have to keep the muscles moving to pump the lymphatics and help with a dwindling immune system I feel. Art bit - didn’t finish my painting but did collect some fallen ginkgo leaves to add to last years dried ones. Hope your day is a good one. Best finish my Kory.

My body doesn't look much different now, but the last few years, especially the second confinement have caused a significant drop in overall fitness. Something I have tried to rectify, only to find my exercise regime no longer works for me, in fact it made for more damage and had to be abandoned.

Am full of admiration for her beadwork peacock and also for having the patience to deal with what must have been a delicate and time consuming project.

8.30am FBG 5.3
The sliding glass door has got stiff and squeals, the blind on the salon door came down last night, but worst of all while cutting the grass yesterday, got the mower stuck. Ground is still wet and the wheels started spinning on a slight slope. Ok reverse, except it slid sideways and is now stuck fast in a thorny hedge, with no possibility of going backwards, tried for over an hour and moved it about a foot forward. Am going to have to get help. Feel as if i an a nuisance because last week had to ask the neighbour for help changing the gas bottle. When I told MrSlim about the glass door he said that the house knows we have sold it. Feels unloved and will start to play up. Seems he might be right.
Chimney sweep is coming this morning, that's one good thing. Found a cattery reasonably near that looks ok. Spent far too long trying to book online yesterday, Going to phone this morning. Maybe visit this afternoon. No idea of cost. Had to enter all my details and Kiki's including her medical history and still hadn't found out availability or costs.
Ordered a dress for wedding, but this morning realised have had it sent to wrong address. Ordered some wrapping material. Honeycomb paper, certainly more eco friendly than bubble wrap, it's arriving Thursday so china will have to wait. On to books maybe. Got far too many and MrSlim has given leave for a cull. Need boxes. Asked online but only offer was too far away. So it will be assorted supermarket boxes to start with anyway, once the supply of wine cases is exhausted. Just a few collected over the years.

6.2 this morning.
Back to classes today. Will take it very gently and will teach sitting down a lot of the time.

Will be very careful not to overdo it as it is healing so brilliantly.

I will walk around the class with just one Nordic pole. Thinking about that triggered a memory of my ballet teacher when I was a child who did exactly the same, but also used her walking stick to wack us if we didn't do it right.

WD40 for all manner of squeaks. Mr Slim sounds like my dad when it comes to books. Over the past month my mum as re-homed over 2,000 books and a similar number of CD’s as well as 3,000 vinyl records and who knows how many tapes. Luckily there is a book exchange nearby run by an English couple who have taken most.
 
Good morning everyone on another damp, autumnal gloom to greet the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this am - a test, just for kicks and giggles. The random gun shot sounding setting off of fireworks seems to have been quite local last night - are public schools still allowing their inmates to come home other than on Christmas Day? Hopefully tomorrow, the annual gunpowder, treason and plot pantomime will reach it’s forgotten roots crescendo but I fear that flashes and bangs will go on for a while down the other side of the bell curve - and some will horde for New Year. I’m blaming the Regency/Georgean/Victorian muppets for changing who it was getting burned - it would all have been massively taxed or even banned as a hate crime by now if they had just stuck to the original victim. What am I blathering on about? Art bit - something about a boat. I hope your Monday sticks to its guns and doesn’t go all Wednesday on you. I desperately need some koffy.

Good morning all. Dull and cool here, no not (just) me - the weather. Theme of the day here seems to be the bifurcation between what is now known as too many moving parts in lives and either not enough or too much difficulty with moving body parts. Best I can do is sympathise and add me too - is that an unforgivable cultural appropriation? @SlimLizzy hugs for all the issues you face on your own but massive kudos for how you are coping. From your posts I would say you and Mr Slim are well in credit with favours so don't feel any guilt about asking for help.@Krystyna23040 do take it easy for some time. I must say there was never any mention of using Nordic walking poles for teaching on my course - or I missed that week. No grandchildren duties this week, JKP has a colonoscopy on Wednesday and a few other parts of life's rich tapestry are in flux. Meanwhile the blues have buried their heads so deep in the sand they may suffocate and over the pond the vibe is more two tribes go to war - nearly linked Franky - than a shining example of democracy in action in the city on a hill. None of that is in my power to affect but, assuming I stay above ground, all of it will impact me, much for the worse, however virtuous I am. I'mma keeping my head out of the sand, drinking tea - no kale juice today - avoiding anything tasting of ginger - and wishing y'all a peaceful and prosperous New Year - too early?

Since I found the names Jack and kit wright Robert Catesby, Thomas Percy and Francis Tresham in the old family tree I don’t celebrate Guy Falks night just wouldn’t seem right somehow.
And anyway I have known too many people who have been injured by idiots throwing fireworks around including the 12 year old brother of a friend of mine who was blinded for life by a paint can thrown on a bonfire exploding I think it’s crazy to put pyrotechnics in the hands people who just are too irresponsible to have them never mind the poor animals that it harms.

Hug for the family history being tainted with tragedy which may well have been due to Cecil's machinations and for your friend's brother. Thank you for sharing the upbeat picture earlier. I like the sentiment - very Isaiah 11 6-9 which is a big favourite pericope of mine - even if my initial reaction was to move along quickly as there was a cat, While I'm here, @dunelm I'm taking the hug as for JKP and thank you for sharing your art - the "colour sparing?" lifted the whole piece for me but I'm not one to judge where art is concerned.

Have been really good and have taken it easy. So am swapping between sitting and walking around (with my Nordic Walking pole) correcting class members.

The walking pole is for support, not to correct class members :) :) :)
