Oh what a palaver - I wonder if you could get a lever under it and fashion a lever and fulcrum - it might lift it and be less of a strain for you.
Thank you for you suggestion @dunelm I did try to do this with a large stone and MrSlims big crowbar. But the ground is so soft it made holes rather than lifting and when I put stone under the crowbar tip as well it slipped off.

Another dull, grey and misty day. The mower is still stuck in the hedge, did leave a message for the neighbour, but no response. Now what?
It's going to be difficult to shift it on my own. Perhaps if I dig out under the back wheel and insert planks, in front and behind the wheel, would that do it? Looks as if i am on my own here, no other friends live near and there is the embarrassment factor to consider, if I ask my French neighbours for help. How far would the story of the englishwoman who got her mower stuck in a hedge spread? It's going to be a very messy job. Have not told MrSlim yet. He is returning on 19th for a few days. Really can't leave it until then!!!
Yesterday evening was sorting books and noticed a twinge in one shoulder, took me a while to realise I had probably strained it trying to lift the mower. Now
need to remember to do the exercises so that it doesn't develop into frozen shoulder. Read somewhere that Frozen shoulder is so common in people with Diabetes that it has been suggested that when Doctors diagnose a patient with Frozen Shoulder, they should also automatically test for Diabetes.
Was so good to have the warmth from the fire last night.
I wondered if it was possible to get an odd job man or handyman (or whatever they call themselves in France) to help as it you don't want to hurt your shoulder.

This comes back to the embassment factor. Also the place it is stuck is narrow, otherwise i would probably have tried to tow it out with the car. My fench friend could probably send a farmer with a tractor, but no room to get one into that space. Multiple difficulties here.

Large stone on a plank. Don’t put large stone too close to the crowbar tip. Put a piece of cloth on top of stone. - might work

5.8 this morning.
Yesterday went well. Everyone was pleased that I used the Nordic Walking pole to support myself and not to wack then with. Was able to alternate between sitting down and gently walking around the classes correcting class members.

We did have one glitch. Mr K unlocked the church front door and let me in through the fire doors to the hall so I didn't have to walk too far.I
He then set up everything so I could sit and rest.

After classes and 1:1s I got ready to go over the road for my dinner and nice long break before more classes. But where were the keys.

Phoned Mr K but he couldn't remember where he had put them. Searched for half an hour. Then success - I found the keys just as Mr K walked in the door to help me find them. He had raced to Norwich to help in the search.

We were so relieved as we were worried that he had left then by the front door and someone had taken them. I am sure Covid has messed up our brains a little :):):). I should have found them sooner and he should have remembered where they were.

@Annb A happy birthday to Alistair
Or Là breith sona dhuit (not sure if that’s correct) from someone who could be a very very distant cousin as we do seem to have some convergence in our family trees
Tapadh leat, John. I hope that's not too informal since we are some kind of cousin. Just in case of offense: tapadh leibh.

And here we are. Bated breath time for the future of not just one nation. I am not bothered about my own birthday either but it is always nice when people remember and give me a hug. So happy birthday to Alistair and hope he gets a hug or two.
Thank you on Alistair's behalf. He'll probably submit to a hug, if I am quick about it when he comes in with the mail. At least he does submit, unlike his brother, who has always fended off physical expressions of affection, even as a small child.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen again to many posts to catch up on, apologies, but life is getting in the way.

Blood sugars this morning were mid 5’s for the last few days and this morning a 6.3

I know I am incredibly lucky to have a busy life, abit with limited energy and frequent rests.

Mrs J says thank you for the kind comments on her last completed art work. Mrs J has already started another painting, which I will post in due course.

Stay safe all.

Does it matter how far the story spreads? You're moving anyway so won't hear what is said. In any case, an injured shoulder is a very good excuse for not trying to move the mower yourself.

Good morning everyone from another grey start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Mainly unsupervised yesterday as Mrs Miggins meets up with old school pals for a natter on Monday mornings. She then has picking up The Girl In The Bubble (GITB) from school at 3 and then stays over to take her to school on a Tuesday morning - mum and dad leave for work quite early and it’s a good arrangement. Son in Law’s grandparents also help of course on other days of the week. GITB will be 5 in a couple of weeks so there will be a gathering together of the grandchildren and other miniature humans I expect. Art bit - doodle, doodle - here you go. Hope your day goes as well as can be expected. We will have a walk through the woods in a while. But first, some koffy.
Wish I could print and frame this series @dunelm.

Morning all from a dull start to election day here in L.A where the weather app on my phone says fog but that seems to be a very alternative truth. It looks like the polls were right, it is a dead heat. No known fbg but more pangs of guilt/shame/we aren't all the same. Yesterday was why do I only experience the wonder of creation intellectually day? Today is why can't I be more like Sir Chris Hoy day?. Perhaps the clue is that God couldn't use me in the same way - I was never a multiple Olympic gold medallist. I too am grateful for every day and the everyday, I just can't use them in the same way. What feels even worse is that I can’t use this gift as I want. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art, I feel an affinity with grey pieces in weather like this and this part of the world. Enjoy your walk through the woods, will you be humming the Horst Jankowski classic? @Krystyna23040 good news on taking it easy yesterday, more gold stars for Mr K despite an attempt to sully his good name over #keygate. @SlimLizzy hug over the mower - surely the embarrassment has already been experienced since you shared it here and the machine is stuck?. Why risk damage to yourself whilst still leaving the machine stuck? @Annb seems to have nailed it. I have no idea if that annoyed y'all or not but since it was meant in a friendly way I really hope not. The life of a double minded man is such fun. Ignore me and enjoy Tuesday/ bonfire night 2024 but please .....

You may be able to see how tight the space is here. To the left is my greenhouse, and the plants in the foreground are hiding a raised bed made of stone. Foreground to the right is a ditch. Have tried to squeeze the car between greenhouse and raised bed, but would need one of my famous twenty-one point turns to get near enough to attach straps - by then ground would be so churned up car might get stuck as well.
Time for a coffee and a new plan.

Going to try this.
Another reason for not calling friends is the distance. I know one has broken down mower, so no help there, others am not sure if they have mower equiped for towing and a trailer to get it here. Would be a real nuisance to them.

You certainly have my sympathy, sincere apologies if it seems otherwise. I hope the coffee and a think help. Could two or three strong people lift the thing out or enough to be able to drive it?

Well that puts things into perspective - the photo - and not sure now. Perhaps think more stuck car rather than stuck lawn mower - something for the wheels to grip. Boards, branches - oh for a Tirfor winch. Certainly time for a coffee.

Boards and branches have so far proved ineffective.
