As the man said. This is both scary (very Day of the Jackal) and very useful, fortunately leavened with some humour. Carole Cadwalladr knows that of what she writes. I particularly liked this:

Last Sunday and Monday we remembered all those great trees, for someone, felled or damaged by conflicts which could and should have been avoided. It is also the time of year many feel the loss of their own personal great trees most keenly. I hope the last verse helps bring a sense of peace to some. @jjraak thank you for the post above. It does look as though Trump and his loyalists will test chaos theory to destruction. I'm not so keen to move that I will "give away" this house just to move and we are only 5 minutes from #1 son plus MIL will be 95 soon so moving may be my/our plan but God may have a better plan. A welcome 6.2 this very long Sunday.
It is now winter.
I say this cos, since Mrs L awakened her beloved, very earlyish, it is very baltic, with the dampness of a drenching, chucking it down. And add on a chilly wind, it is not nice.
Garden is once again covered in the local forestry detritus. Sodden leaves everywhere, and my floral attempts are suffering.
This is the good news.
Mrs L has lost her purse. And her phone. And her reasoning. And her balance.
Have looked for all of them. The phone is now charging. The rest no idea.
Don't panic as the bestest corporal in television once espoused.
They will turn up or turnip is it?

Was hoping to start decor, but an accident has me doing another two piles of washing and laundry drying for the bedroom again. Got the winter bedding on now. Be prepared you lot.
Salt aplenty and spade on hand.
Heating on, might pay for it, next year, if they are lucky, ha!

The gammon was expertly cooked, and expertly getting a seeing to.

Keep warm, keep safe.

For those wondering what Trump's victory has to do with their life there is a marked reluctance just now among both buy-to-let investors and families to buy property when he or Musk may shut bases and I want to sell and return to Cambs near to #3 son and grandchildren. 6.30 am starts and 40 mile round trips for childcare collection don't suit JKP any more and I've never warmed to Breckland. TLDR? sorry, enjoy as many moments of this day as you can.

Thank you @jjraak. Feet were then compared to hands and then we had to do lower leg and forearm before they turned their attention to the Achilles Ligament and then what is the jelly stuff for in the middle of bones. When you are seven years old, one answered question just morphs into yet more questions. But what fun!

Thanks for the poem. We loved Timmy and Pru’s canal trips but could never keep up with the number of drinks. We thought that Timothy West did a great thing by Prunella Scales as she dived into dementia.

Good to hear that in the bleak and still not even mid-winter the gammon is able to brighten your day. Might you be able to relax and watch T20 later?

And the footie earlier.
I wasn't impressed with our bowling last evening.
I wasn't impressed with the team selection either, seems because of the number of international games, domestic leagues and other stuff, like the footie some can't be ***** turning out for these games.
there was a sub for England tonight I had never heard of him......
must be the first one ever I just hadn't heard of him, who he plays for without looking it up..
what is going on?

Quick update Nextdoor neighbour was kept in hospital for a day or so thankfully it was not a heart attack but they have diagnosed some sort of muscular problem and she is now home resting. A few months ago she suffered a stroke and is having a bit of a rough time of it lately.

There was a huge snow cloud over mine yesterday afternoon, everywhere went dark, but the snow cloud moved on and dumped its cargo somewhere else...phew, it really did look like an ominous cloud ...
