What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A couple of hours ago our neighbour knocked on and told us she was not well and had chest pains so I called 111 and after a few questions they sent an ambulance and she has been taken to hospital I just hope and pray that she will be ok.
Well done for taking prompt action @JohnEGreen.

Saturday's FBG, 4.4 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.

This morning fbg is 4.3.
Quick update Nextdoor neighbour was kept in hospital for a day or so thankfully it was not a heart attack but they have diagnosed some sort of muscular problem and she is now home resting. A few months ago she suffered a stroke and is having a bit of a rough time of it lately.

Morning all from another dull and increasingly cold start here in L.A. I/we/many had a fleeting Brat summer now it is seemingly DOGE winter - or four years. Yes, this too shall pass but there is a definite feel of psalm 79 which events I really don't see made "Jacob" joyful by occuring as they occured. . @JohnEGreen what a wonderful neighbour you are and we all hope all turns out well. Thank you for sharing the Purcell. @gennepher thank you for sharing the video and creative - so much to see or read into that piece. Sadly? my pedant's mind always wants "the" one correct answer to what that is all about, be it a creatve, poem. pericope or anything I read. Probably why I don't really like fiction. Not good when the BCP morning prayer pericopes lately come from Daniel and Revelation. @dunelm what a coincidence over that photo. Enjoy the family time with those grandchildren, treasure comes in many ways some better than others. Thank you for sharing another wonderful red roof piece. They are becoming very where's Wallyish - probably the Etsy adverts are planting that in what is jokingly labelled my mind. @Krystyna23040 have a good but low level ankle stress day in Norwich. Your fbg is NFK - good, not NFN - pejorative. Y'all have as many wonderful moments today as you can.
Thank you @ianpspurs

Em's elder sister saw a picture on the online version of the Daily Record of DIL, Em and her eldest brother labelled "A Stornoway family enjoying their Sunday" (or something like that) accompanying a story about Tesco Stornoway thinking of opening on Sundays. The pic must have been taken something like 10 years ago, without their knowledge and the Sunday part is unlikely since they would not have been in Stornoway on a Sunday back then and in any case, they were not a Stornoway family - they live close to us about 8 miles away from Stornoway.

Happy birthday to TGITB on Monday.

BG at 04.30 was 8.3. Still hovering around the 8 mark.
Thank you @Annb. We heard about the Sunday opening of Tesco on what passes for news these days -seems to be dividing opinion and of course, Tesco will always do what is right for the community and just do what it wants.

Kiki didn't come home last night although I called her several times. Was a little bit concerned as first frost is forecast, but she has a fur coat. In the end went to bed anyway. Early hours Kiki arrived, on my bed. She must have been inside all the time. Was too sleepy and warm to get up and move a ,no doubt reluctant, cat so she got to sleep on the bed with me. Her enthusiast kneading of the fleece blanket will have left visible traces, but haven't inspected it, yet.
Cancelled one viewing. MrSlim refuses to live in a rabbit hutch. With view of methane tanks!
Knew it is small, but at the time that is what i thought we were looking for. Things change. Now have managed to get viewing on MrSlims current favourite (10 rooms) but not on any of the others which are a more reasonable size for two people.
Distinctly hampered by language barrier. Am mostly ok face to face, but over the phone it's really difficult.
Otherwise is would phone and explain. He is here for three days, after this not again until after Christmas. Book the vIewing now.

Good morning everyone on what appears to be another sunshiny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. We are forecast to be rewarded by snow after the weekend which usually means that somewhere on the planet, there will be snow but if no one is there to witness it, it probably won’t happen. A full on day with the grandchildren yesterday which included wandering into town, sitting on a bench overlooking the sea and having an al fresco brunch/picnic/snack thing event. Slots and ice cream on the lower prom. A walk in the Black Forest to some 1965 tune by Horst Jankowski and an afternoon birthday party at some venue with lots of padded climbing frames and ball pits. Strangely slept well. This morning we are off to the skate park before they depart for home - they brought helmets and scooters. Art bit - oh no! Red roof. Will your day go well? We are looking at pictures of how feet work - I know, but it’s how the twins roll. Please can I make koffy now?

Sounds like a good birthday weekend....
Great Art red roof bit...
Love the people ( I assume they are people) @dunelm )

Morning all from a bright but too cool for me start to Sunday in L.A. I can't share my fbg as it is a known unknown. I am more focused on trying to use natural sources as a means of dealing with the apparent side effects of the steroids and antibiotics managing the bullous pemphigoid invasion. Some evidence suggests water retention causes weight gain and other symptoms so one should limit sodium intake and increase potassium. There are good indications over the last 6? months that is happening. OK prof, so how can one accomplish that on keto? Great options include avocados, Brussel sprouts, mushrooms, squash, pumpkin seeds, leafy greens, fatty fish, pork chops, and clams. Pork chops are a no no but I'm hoping pork shoulder can be subbed - other shellfish? Marcus Wareing inspired leafy green veg soup made yesterday, babyleaf spinach blitzed at the end made a very vibrant green. @dunelm yesterday sounds great fun and thank you for another red roof masterpiece. I enjoy finding those roofs, I don't get out much - though we did go to three shops yesterday. Rachel will be delighted, me not so much but JKP has a new hat as her now shorter hair means colder ears. Long story involving a childhood trauma/drama. @SlimLizzy hug for the property searching with misunderstanding over criteria but good news on Kiki. TLDR? For those wondering what Trump's victory has to do with their life there is a marked reluctance just now among both buy-to-let investors and families to buy property when he or Musk may shut bases and I want to sell and return to Cambs near to #3 son and grandchildren. 6.30 am starts and 40 mile round trips for childcare collection don't suit JKP any more and I've never warmed to Breckland. TLDR? sorry, enjoy as many moments of this day as you can.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who play and or played hopscotch.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.2 , this was a surprise after a full on family meal yesterday evening. The menu was a secret and will remain so, but I can assure those of a low carb persuasion it wouldn’t be approved.
I enjoyed the dinner and pudding, but I enjoyed the company of 3 of my 4 grandchildren more.

All is peaceful here in Tilehurst Towers. Mrs J is still in her pit / lair and no music canned or otherwise is issuing from the multitude of speakers in Tilehurst Towers.

Today is now slipping by quickly and the day must start properly, with or without Mrs J’s approval, like us all I have things I want to avoid and need to peruse my list of excuses.
Drat Mrs J is moving around and I must fulfill my function as early? morning tea maker to Mrs J…….
Stay safe all and make what you can of this glorious day.

Thank you for the update @JohnEGreen .

Sounds like an exhausting but wonderful day of birthday fun @dunelm
& Understanding feet is important
Maybe the twins are considering a life of tickle testing future T2D's. ?
Maybe not...life's is a mystery at that age

Huge hugs @SlimLizzy .

One for the stress & worry over Kiki, but an aww for the nighttime kneading by your side

And one for your new role as the lone arranger of house hunting ...hi ho silver ( or whatever that is in french ..mmhh )

Best wishes

And a hug of sorts @ianpspurs .
Been clear you haven't been happy ..and now jkp has desires too, the upheaval that's trumpian is causing waves already.

Doubt if his reported intention to suspend both houses, to avoid clearing some who likely would struggle getting clearance at Lidl helps smooth the waters any.

Tho a slight chink of light that for team Ian , it's now a majority decision, perhaps

Things move faster when everyone is pulling in the same direction, after all.

A gorgeous if slightly chilly day in the sunshine here.
Clear blue skies, what a beautiful day .

Top of the day to you all

I was searching for the link to another poem when this one took my eye. I'm not sure Timothy West qualifies although he was for Prunella Scales and his family. Last Sunday and Monday we remembered all those great trees, for someone, felled or damaged by conflicts which could and should have been avoided. It is also the time of year many feel the loss of their own personal great trees most keenly. I hope the last verse helps bring a sense of peace to some. @jjraak thank you for the post above. It does look as though Trump and his loyalists will test chaos theory to destruction. I'm not so keen to move that I will "give away" this house just to move and we are only 5 minutes from #1 son plus MIL will be 95 soon so moving may be my/our plan but God may have a better plan. Peace be with you.

Marvellous poem choice @ianpspurs .

Loved it.
So glad you liked it. Here is the poem I was actually seeking which may not strike so much of a chord but simplifies what prayer and a personal God means, for me anyhow. Not remote or mysterious just how we all roll actually. This version has the least links of any I could find. I get creativity as language, it mirrors my world, my experience. Visually, and that includes much of nature, there just isn't much or definitely nowhere near as much connection.
