What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

No FBG today for a couple of reasons.
My daughter was in a crash, not her fault!
So after all what entails with that, daughter and #5 having been checked by the hospital as ok.
And the insurance was good and everything should go ok.
I am now catching up with everything.
Haven't eaten, made sure Mrs L is ok.
Not a good day all round.
It is freezing cold and had rain, sleet and snow, with a northerly breeze.

Hope you lot have a better day than I have.
Best wishes.
Never a pleasant experience, hope that all turns out OK

Good morning everyone from a frosty Friday with aspects of sunshine to tease the ice underfoot - take care when making slides. Layers is the word of the day. Art bit - two roofs. Must dash, I need to count the holes in my string vest to the music of The Bonzo Dog Do-Dah Band. But before that, koffy.

Smashing postcard art. Terrible that you and others had to sit in such a cold place and seemingly little concern about peoples health. That electric blanket will be working hard.
Thank you for the postcard art compliment @dunelm

I did not know I was going to be waiting so long and those conditions we weren't told in advance how late our appointment was going to be. I just assumed that as my appointment was 10:26 I got that 10:15 and I assumed within a few minutes I would be seen to. Otherwise I would have kicked up a stink earlier on if I would been told I was going to wait in those conditions for over an hour and a half. And I would most likely have walked out and asked for another appointment. And then there was still the appointment which itself which took an hour....

My hips still feel a bit of a chill today. So the electric blanket is still working overtime..

Very impressive the Art bit @dunelm

Good afternoon from a sunny but cold L.A. where there was some slight overnight snow, more in Cambridge but none in Ely - the phlebotomist told me about Ely. No fbg but other important data. From what the consultant could make of my last scan - radiologists overwhelmed with work so not official despite her escalating events - all is stable: very much thanks be to God. I'll never know if Elsie Keto is to be credited with any part in that but presumably if it ain't broke don't fix it. @gennepher hug for the hip still hurting and thanks for sharing the video and creative. My appointment was delayed by a good 40 minutes and parking was horrendous, half a mile walk, but I was in the warm with tea and coffee if wanted. @dunelm thank you for sharing another red roof masterpiece. @Krystyna23040 well done on compressing two days admin into one. @JohnEGreen hug for needing to take the mobility scooter. @Annb hug for the tiredness and loss of glasses but good news on finding them. Considering the omnipoohification (today seems to have been the day for huge trailer loads of that on fen roads) of last summer, with leaking ceilings and bullae bursting out all over, I have had a very good day. Cancer treatment has had a 6 month sabbatical with at least another 3 more to come so my day obviously went well, we even drove through Grunty Fen :woot: on the way to collect granddaughter from Witchford. I sincerely hope y'all have a day somewhere close to mine.

7.2 this footie Friday.
usually, when I do my FBG, it is after the usual morning start, and after my first cuppa, black no sugar mind.
this morning, I did the FBG whilst sipping a cuppa and it was higher than it has been, even tho, it has fluctuated, it is usually between, 6-7mmols.
More investigations methinks.
anyone else noticed this?

box room is ready for painting, youngest son gonna start tomorrow, while grandad babysit #7 & #8.
I never imagined how much rubbish was in there.
father in law, did collect some serious s....!

Bert is on his way, so batten down the hatches or whatever you have or need to get through it.
We had a couple of hours before midnight last night of really strong winds, rain and more. It did rain, hail, snow a little, I did think Bert was early.
Thought my fence was moving. Hope it stays strong, there is always one along the back that succumbs.
A cloudy, windy, wet day here, and baltic.

I'm still a bit deaf in my right ear, I must do something about it, when I get time.
I have already tried warm oil. But that did nowt.

Daughter and #5 are fine. Still a little stirred and shaken.

Keep warm and safe, my bestest wishes, I might not be back till tomorrow.

This morning Libre says 3.2 finger prick says 4.6 not a huge difference but significant.
0 degrees here going to have to get the mobility scooter out from under a layer of snow and ice that still remain would rather of used the car today but it’s in Aberdeen with Keiran and anyway you can never find a parking space at the doctors.
hope you take care mate.

Forgot to mention on my last effort.
Many thanks for all the hugs and wishes that you lot bestowed upon my lot yesterday.
it does mean so much to me and my lot.
Thanks

Thank you Ian...
I am still keeping particularly warm, but I think my hip pain/discomfort has eased off now... Back to my normal tomorrow.... I hope....

Sounds as though your day was pretty good....

Really good news that everything is stable @ianpspurs and that you had a really good day.

I have had a good day also. Because I had done virtually all the admin yesterday I have had a lovely relaxing day today - just reading
and drinking coffee. So am relaxed and recharged before classes start at 5pm today.

Night time wildlife video

Second night of snow - no Badgers or Foxes visit.
Cat Jade stays on the swing all night until she hears me getting up, then gets off to go under the chair where I serve her breakfast..

Thank you @ianpspurs and good news on that stable result despite lack of radiologist input.

Back from the afternoon's event. I was embarrassed to be asked to tell the tale of my "Road to Damascus" moment 65 years ago. Strangely I found I had to hold back the tears as I recalled that moment. Don't know that it was particularly enlightening for anyone, but there we are.

Now I'm exhausted again and will be having a very quiet weekend to recover from the last 3 days.

The Scenic passed its MOT today but there are a few jobs Neil wants done before he takes it to the mainland next month so we won't have a car until the middle of next week. Good reason to be staying home.

Scenic passing the MOT has to be worth a winner and tears can be a good sign. Rest up this weekend.

The trip to the surgery was a bit hairy lots of ice and piles of frozen snow on the pavements but made it there and back with no serious instances though I did have a close call getting past one of the cars parked partly on the pavement slid on ice and came very close to bouncing off it.
Nurse was very good about the vac thimagy and it’s now working ok the wound has shrunk a bit and is not looking so nasty now.

I was worried about you and that scooter on the ice and snow. But you've got there safely and back @JohnEGreen
That was most certainly a feat and an adventure in itself.
I am glad that the nurse was positive about the thingumyjig.....
