What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@dunelm thank you for sharing another splendid piece of art and turning the late Christmas card into a comedy epic. @gennepher I'm glad after all the agonising over the letter to that hospital it has had an impact. @JohnEGreen the good enough fbg is one thing but enjoying the curry and cake, presumably as part of a celebration with family, is far better. @jjraak hug fir the rough week, winner for the attitude and hope that any discomfort from rehab is merely the precursor to improvement. As for waking in the You Ess of Aay, a plurality there would say for all our problems you can only wish you were so blessed. I'm certain the 30-50 in this close would roll their eyes and say aw, bless at that sentiment. A few here seem to feel that your home city is to be avoided at almost all costs, granted probably in jest or because it is the done thing. I guess we are all creatures of our native terroir. Y'all have a good day now, ya hear?
Thank you @ianpspurs

Nearly forgot recycle day this week.

I had 'lost' a day this week...busy with stuff...

Creative is using the laboscope kaleidoscope app. I tried the net curtains again where there was a pot of silk flowers behind it...I think that worked...

I hope your day went well...
Take care...

Smashing kaleidoscope - very needle point

Good morning everyone on a splendid moon’s a balloon start to what may be Friday here in the dark and dangerous north. A splendidly lazy day yesterday and only managed to glance briefly at my Not To Do list of irrelevancies before scheduling time lapsed chunks of nothingness interspersed with a bit of reading and getting a minimum of 250 steps in each hour - it’s hard work doing sod all! No cooking either apart from boiling a couple of eggs for an avocado salad. Today mind, is an up and at ‘em day and already I have provided table service to The Girl In The Bubble who has dined and dashed off to school with chauffeur Mrs Miggins. The sun (and also the moon) is out so a walk into town and back is on the cards. Art bit - trees, how unusual. Hope you have a marvelous day. I have determined that I will and it all starts with the deliciousness that comes from a good mug of koffy.

I was watching the night sky last night and the stars were absolutely amazing.

About 5 am this morning I went out with my cup of tea and the moon was shining with no clouds, not a cloud in the sky. Went back in to get my phone camera...came back...and the moon is covered in clouds...

Waited a bit, until there were very few clouds in the photo, but the Pixel brought out clouds I couldn't even see round the moon. There was an adjuster at the side of the screen where I could slide it down and get rid of most of the clouds. But then I liked the colourful clouds that the pixel nighttime setting brought out. So I left them in...then I put it in Procreate app and added a few stars that the phone camera did not pick up...

So this is my creative for today....

Have your best kind of day...

Take care...

Wow, I absolutely love these birch trees @dunelm

Rather a marvellous creation....likey likey.

Morning all. Odd/quirky/honest post incoming. @gennepher and @dunelm thank you both for sharing your wonderful creative talents. Both pieces are wonderful, thank you. @gennepher yours made me reflect on the use of the word amazing, thank you. The actual sky and stars have limited impact on my affective domain. Not totally "meh" but pretty much and your point is? As I've said before that ??? was left on the bench during my assembly. The fact they exist, man can't make them and their "point" (I don't think they are random) is what is amazing to me. @dunelm thank you for the trees. I had no idea they were birches and that again is, in my mind (world view?), secondary to the fact there are there in the first place and provide the attached. That is far more amazing and interesting to me. I also expect a bear or other source of meat to emerge suddenly and someone to take advantage of the bounty to provide so many of life's essentials. I love the idea a proper hunter would, in sincere gratitude, thank the animal for all they will now provide, therefore cherishing every part of the animal. That is not what man the consumer does habitually, which is my/our fault, not God's. Where I think you see colour, shape and (I think) beauty, I see a different kind of wonder. I wonder first why they exist, then if and how I/we can use them..Completely baffled by how sport fits into that, I'll work on that. Odd enough for y'all? Y'all have a good day now, I'm trying to work out how I can use mine: I know how to use the tea, salmon and salad and who to thank for them - no, not (just) Amazon and Ocado.

Lovely sky scape creative

Busy morning. Video call - grandchildren and Bonnie. Then Mr K had an early dentist check up - which went ok. Then shopping for toys for Bonnie.

Of course we had to watch her as she had a whale of a time with the new toys. She is now fast asleep on lap lap.

Thank you @ianpspurs. You don’t deserve the birch for all that but wasn’t that Willow all along - ouch!

Down here at sea level (just about) B-I-R-C-H has always been known as/pronounced birch. I don't know what you guys make of our common language, altitude may well affect y'all. AI tells me those are all uses of birch - which is what another poster said those trees were, I know not. I was once pretty good on plum tree identification from the leaves. Anyhow, I've already excused the category error of inserting deliciousness next to koffy, just how much more slack do you want? :playful: Willow is for cricket bats I know that, it is why Hunts County bats exists.

Just had a phone call from our GP surgery. Apparently my potassium level is still too high and the GP wants to talk to me about it next Tuesday. That could explain what has been happening to my heart these last few days. I looked up what foods are high in potassium and which are low. Sadly all the high ones are my staple foods and many of the low ones are high carb ones. Not sure what to think about that. The site I was looking at suggest that suitable foods might include potatoes, chips, bread, some fruits and things like broccoli and cauliflower, both of which are problematic for me. The dietician is going to say "I told you so."

Hopefully the medical profession can resolve that conundrum for you @Annb. That issue is an example of why just concentrating on carbs in the diet is not enough. There is always a bigger picture and many here have co-morbidities. Take it easy.
