What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I must admit I didn’t realise it was so complex a decision and all that you need to consider please let us know what you decide .
Hi @JohnEGreen
Neither did I when I started considering this.
Yes, I will let you know what I decide.

I have bought things before without realising or considering everything around it and then realised I didn't want to pay the cost for maintaining something, with extras I had not thought about. I have wasted a bit of money in the past.

Fbg 8.1

Badger Willow walking around watched by Cat Merlin on the swing...Merlin doesn't seem bothered about Willow walking back and forth. I think he has got used to Willow. Willow has not shown any interest in Merlin yet.

Creative...kaleidoscope from my painting I found while tidying up....

Looks like no rain today and a bit of sun from time to time. According to the weather app.
I'll have a nap now and as soon as the sun comes out, I'll go out in the garden....

Have an amazing day....do something new...

Take care....

Lovely kaleidoscope @gennepher, drags you right in

Morning all (just). Currently sunny here at least in our lounge. Second sleepover night with the Little Guy didn't go so well. Partly due to more - what? - chickens? poxes? and partly due to him choosing the wrong side of the bed - the radiator side - and getting too hot, itchy and frustrated. Multiple more serious problems here and in the world outside but hand on heart none of them tug at my heart strings anywhere near that. It’s who we are guys. @gennepher sorry if my reaction to the app and armband came over as a tad off. Thanks for sharing the kaleidoscope. @dunelm thank you for sharing today's art which I liked very much. Taste/reaction is odd/weird since all this series are accomplished but some just strike a chord. Its not you its me :D Snakes?
thank you @ianpspurs - gung hay fat choy and hope the Little Guy is feeling better this afternoon - chickens roosting.

Second reply @JohnEGreen after research this afternoon.

I have learned a lot from frequent answered questions on the visible site.

Armband is rechargeable. But you cannot wear it when recharging. So therefore, if you charge it during the night then your morning reading is not accurate because it has not been collecting data during the night.

On other forums people say this defeats the object of wearing the armband.

On the visible site it says it does not work very well with some phones , it mentioned in particular two phones (actually four phones) pixel 6/6a,/Pro and Galaxy Note 9, they apparently give inaccurate readings. And the visible site say they are now blocking certain phones from downloading the app because they are finding more phones that are not working properly with it. People were subscribing to visible and paying for the armband, before they tried downloading the app...

If you have a modern phone with a high-end camera, then the filter or processing that is done on the camera to produce the brilliant photographs, affects the readings for the visible app. So therefore, the AI processing while taking the reading will affect the HRV reading and the pulse reading.

Visible appears to be in beta mode and I'm finding people on forums that say it doesn't work so well over a period of time, and users are suggesting it is not all that good, and not worthwhile paying for the armband.

However, quite a few people say it is worthwhile using the free version of it, which is just taking the reading of your fingerprint on the camera, like you and me are already doing.

I have decided on a big NO for paying monthly and paying out for the armband, after reading more stuff on this.

I hope there are no silly mistakes in this post, because last night Android did a new update, which is driving me bananas with the way it keeps changing my sentences to something totally different. I'll have a cup of tea and I'll check if this needs editing....
This update will not allow me to tick anything else but the like button on my phone...I need to find an iPad...

Another full day.
Went shopping for stuff for house projects.
But came back as Mrs L was packing her bags to go home and Mrs L, even though I have placed a note in front of her. Hmmm!
Quick visit.
Best wo.

I don't think Lucy or her relatives could write, so there were no records - not even held by Aunt Flo. That's a pity and very remiss of those ancient folk.
Good evening.
After a little research it’s been proven Keith Richards was there first.

sorry if my reaction to the app and armband came over as a tad off. Thanks for sharing the kaleidoscope
You're a good man @ianpspurs .

You are so right .
Far too easy on this old Webbie thing to misread a post or misunderstand the points being made.

And fully agree,
I read many posts, and while I consider them rather light hearted in nature describing the members day, I know that person is dealing with at times tremendous difficulties of which I can only have an inkling of how much they are affected by it or how on earth they cope on a day to day basis, yet the general Tone of most posts is "oh well, these things happen".... respect.

Rather humbling if I'm honest, when I'm having a bad day because I've burnt the toast....again :banghead:

As said, easy to misread things when it's not in person, I've been there, & done that
Fair play to you for owning it.

And both a clear explanation from you of how you misread it & from @gennepher in her fulsome description of some of the more technical aspects, I must admit I hadn't been aware of either.

Gotta love a thread where such maturity & friendship in attitude, resolves such easy misunderstandings.

All of the posters on here are a fantastic illustration of how we as individuals can come together for the common good and make something quite simply wonderful.

Bravo my friends.

Thank you for your post @jjraak
I appreciate it.

Good early start for national bin day Morening

Drat, double drat and grrrr. Blood sugars this morning were 4.5 .

Never mind, a slight change of plans and just get on with what needs to be done.

As I wrote a few seconds ago early start so fellow posters and painters have the best day you can and a smile costs nothing and etc, etc, etc.

Time to go…… :)

An early post from me, because I am steering clear of the Internet, daytime hours, today.

I overdid it first thing yesterday. Sun was out. I went in front garden first thing. With my sharp secateurs. I was just cutting back some Ivy, nothing heavy. I enjoyed being in the sun doing that...

I only intended spending 10 to 15 minutes out there. But I spent 25 minutes. It was really light work that I was doing. However, as soon as I came in, I knew I had seriously overdone it. Basically I had done nothing, there was no exertion. I went to bed and I was asleep for the next couple of hours...

How on earth can I maintain everything when this is as much effort as I can put into something?

My HRV etc was way too low this morning. I only slept an hour last night and my Fbg was 9.1 ( but I was awake anyway) And basically, I was told by the app to seriously pace myself today.

I couldn't even get the recycle out last night, so I had to go out very early in the dark to get it out this morning.
Two trips.

But up the road by the doggy poo bin was like that flashing red light on the rear of a cycle. Second trip out to bring the rest of the rubbish out five minutes later.. and that rear red cycle light was still flashing. So I looked towards it. And whatever person was there turned (presumably a bicycle) the front headlamp into my direction.
Stupid girl, I said to myself, they've been there at least 10 minutes in the pitch black dark. They have seen me with my beanie headlamp. No good will come of this. Get in....

The wagon for the recycle comes at 7 am so I had to get the stuff out in the dark. But this was 5 am I was getting the recycle out. I knew I might fall asleep later.

The Sun will be out first thing this morning, and where will I be? In the front garden with my secateurs... but five minutes, I will set a timer.

Just trying for today, a day off screens in day time....

5.8 this morning.
Lovely sunny morning.

Bonnie asleep in her crate after a very energetic play time. If we get her in her crate with a treat so she has a sleep before she gets over tired she is the perfect puppy. If she gets over tired she turns into a whirlwind with teeth and goes absolutely crazy.

Today we managed to get it right.

I'll try again, now I'm logged in
I'm new to this chat.
9.7 this morning, but I'm quite pleased with that. First day of insulin yesterday and this is already down from my usual 12-15.
Felt rotten yesterday though - headache, achy limbs, nausea (induced by antibiotics for ?infected foot wound). Saw the doc who was not too concerned, but advised to take it easy for a few days. I've maybe picked up one of the many winter cold viruses doing the rounds.

Hope you get a very restful day today @gennepher

Morning all from a sunny but frosty start to Thursday for we Brecklanders. Commemoration of the first King Charles being executed, meanwhile tragic news of that crash from Washington. Welcome to @Madfarmerswife and @mark cleaver - do stick around if you can. @jjraak thank you for those kind words. @gennepher thank you for sharing the creative and as @Krystyna23040 says have a restful day. No grandchildren here for the rest of today (eldest came in before school), we fed three last evening. Video chats with a big sister/cousin and a lovely video get well message for the poorly Little Guy ™ from the his pre-school class. Technology at its best. Enjoy Thursday - wholly or partially (even if you burn the toast) Someone here left a squeezy honey bottle upside down on the counter, clearly not me since carbs aside I dislike the stuff intensely.
