What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Liking the simplicity in these "Aka Manto' renderings.

I can see these being one of the choices offered at IKEA , hanging on the wall inside a frame in the pictures section.

Obviously a copy being snapped up by those in the 'know' but unable to afford a genuine Dunelm Aka Manto .

Jolly nice ..likee very much.

I wonder from your journeys, if they remind you of a certain time or place.?
The calmness seems personal .

8.2 at 05.20 today.

Very tired as a result of a busy day yesterday and a bad night with claustrophobic dreams. Something to do with breathlessness.

I was talking to the nurse doing my bandaging yesterday about diuretics and damage to kidneys. "Oh yes," she said "It's well known that they do that." How come nobody thought to say that when I started taking them all those years ago? Fluid retention? Just throw more and more diuretics at it. I know too much fluid in the system can be dangerous in itself but is there no other treatment that would do the job and avoid damaging other organs? My brother told me last week that his wife was not put onto diuretics in order to protect her kidneys (she did have a minor issue with her kidneys but it has never got any worse in all these years). I also wonder if taking diuretics just makes the issue worse so that you then have to take more and more. Wish I'd never started but guess it's too late now.

The stupid thing is about spellcheck is that I either wrote the correct sentence or I spoke the correct sentence and spellcheck initially put the correct sentence in and then seconds later it makes a completely different fairy story of that same sentence, and at this point I haven't a clue what I initially wrote @Krystyna23040
I am pleased that l am not the only one that happens to. It is especially annoying when the sentence you originally wrote was quite important.

All this makes life unnecessarily complicated, and stressful @Krystyna23040 because you are going backwards and forwards on the online form to check what you have written and then you lose the next page that you just wrote....
Yes, that was exactly what was happening. I was literally tearing my hair out in frustration. Which was why I was quite concerned that I hadn't got it right.

That is very concerning @Annb. It looks like another case of 'the cure being worse than the disease'. Perhaps your doctor could suggest a different way forward regarding the fluid retention.

I asked him about that, but he says it is the only treatment they have. One issue is that he now thinks (no proof I suppose) that my breathing difficulties are caused by fluid retention in my lungs so I've had to make a choice between my kidneys and, so far, not too serious breathing problems. Swings and roundabouts. He left it to me to decide. I've gone for a single dose of the actual diuretic (BP pills have a similar effect and I take 2 of those) and hope for a lesser effect on my kidneys.

Morning all. Fbg today 9.1, so in target if still higher than ideal.

I'm off sick today. I think the stress has caught up with me... Yesterday's straw that broke the camel's back was there not being a single parking space (disabled, visitor or other) at the front of the building when I got to work. By the time I'd found one at the back that had enough room to open my door properly, and walked round of course spaces has become free. The ten times further walk, morning and evening, has really done me in, but strangely it's my arms and back that really hurt rather than my legs.

Podiatry went ok, new less bulky dressing applied. However, wound is still bleeding - maybe as a result of extra walking.

I'm taking it easy today, but I get to see Mr MFW's brother and sister-in-law as they head back to Lincolnshire from Aberdeen. Added bonus.

Wishing you all a stress-free day

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who are thinking of leap years.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.7

Here in Tilehurst Towers today is an unknown and I won’t know about today until Mrs J returns from her hunting and foraging expedition to the local supermarket. Therefore I’ve probably got another……..whoops Mrs J has just returned early, probably Mrs J could not find anyone to talk at, yes you read that right, talk at, transmission only. Tongue in cheek I say a common female trait, only teasing ladies…..

I must wish you all a jolly spiffing day, blessed with smiles and a little bit of mischievousness.
Sometimes those two words can get you into lots of trouble, no not “I do”,
the “Yes Dear” ones.

Morning blood pickers.

A run of high 5's brought to a halt with a 6.1.

Odd because I'm at doctors now for ECG testing & as they mentioned doing my bloods as well I fasted from 7pm.

Yes, I know we're told we don't have to fast, but doesn't that just bring into the equation too many variables...mmhh

Is my 'xyz' high because I ate/drank less/more than the last blood tests ?

Only was I know I can match each blood test if if I make them the same as possible...aka fasting pre test .

Never used to bother me, but since DX, I take waaay more note of what the rises & drops are.

Not for everyone, but for me, it's a yes, fast then test.

ECG seems ok, back to get full results at next appointment.

Time then spent getting international drivers licence for our India trip.

Worried as it's at pay point shops now, not post office .

But couldn't have been simpler
Lady knew what she was doing, & I had all the info required.

A 20 minutes wait, spent perusing the goodies in Waitrose, and that's another job off the list ...phew.

E-biked to both, then a stop to get Frankie some chews at local pet store, and it's back home in time for lunch .

A beautiful clear sunny skies day here in the capital
A tad chilly but glorious to be able to ride the bike in daylight without the wind and/or the rain of late.

Hope you all enjoy your day, equalling happy with the quality of it .

There's an e-mail in my In-box telling me that there's a reply from @dmpro to @Lamont D but it isn't there on the forum. Is there some problem with the website? I often do miss things because it seems they come through just as I am on the forum, but then don't appear. Don't understand the tech.

Just had a letter from the hospital to say that the heart monitor showed that my heart rate was regular when it was going fast (ie I was struggling to get around and putting my heart rate up) but irregular when I rested. Nothing to worry about apparently. Not that I am worried because it has sorted itself out now. It must have been some kind of inflammation or something that didn't show up in blood tests. The letter also said that I am waiting for a heart scan, which I know nothing about. No real point now that it has fixed itself.

I asked him about that, but he says it is the only treatment they have. Well done - it looks like that is the best way forward @Annb

Thank you @jjraak - Aka Manto - very spooky - didn’t think of that :jimlad:.
I don’t know if anything influences some of my stuff but maybe. This particular one - the brush just did it’s thing and I tired to work with what the ink looked like once dry.

Could you be diuretic resistant? Taking increasingly more seems suspect.

Good morning everyone on a splendidly quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.4 this a.m. and already the sun is out and washing on the line. Rumour has it that the sun will be making up for prior cancellations by giving an all day performance.
There may be a walk through the woods today, down to the sea or perhaps a bus into town and then a walk along the lower promenade and then back home through the woods. Oh the decisions!
Art bit - a teeny weeny blob of red. (Not an itsy bitsy one).
Hope you enjoy the last day of this short change of a month. I shall delight in a koffy and take advantage of the warmth of the sun.
The flute player again...charming the fishes....
Hope you had a lovely walk @dunelm, no matter which route you took...

It was all playing me up tonight @Krystyna23040
One of these days I will press send without noticing it has put in the swear words I directed at spellcheck, and you will see a pile of stars...
