What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

10.9 at 03.20 today. Not surprising - I felt awful last night and thought I was going down with "something". Not so bad today but BG still far too high, despite no food so far. Tea, of course, always shoves my BG up and I've had 6 cups so far today.

The batteries ran out on my keyboard earlier and I couldn't find the replacement ones I'd bought, but eventually found the packet amongst some mail I hadn't put away. So here we are. Up and running again.

No FBG today, a tad busy before mental health consult happened at home.
it was a very good session and it showed how much in the last eighteemonths, Mrs L had deteriorated further.
the meds will be discussed with the specialist and doctors with e stone involved in the balance of her meds.
Physical and mental.
Another drug recently treating such similar conditions, may be used. No more sertraline.
And further recommendations are to follow, such as improving the house and such.
Let us see what happens.

Parking in Liverpool city centre is a bit of a nightmare @gennepher. And expensive.
There are still some car parks but wether they are close or as expensive I'm not to sure
What most around here do is use the trains and park at the stations. And get off in the city appropriate station.
Probably Central or Lime street.
I wish you good luck, last time we parked close to the back of the museums, Walker Art gallery. If that helps. Which is obviously close to the tunnels. And not far from the eye hospital.

Best wishes.

My day is not going quite as planned and neither is it as stressfree as I had planned.

This morning, I've got a phone call. I can't take phone calls ecause of being deaf but then moments later was my App telling me I had a voicemail.
The voicemail only lasted a couple of seconds, but it was enough to know that it came from Liverpool eye hospital, and they obviously made the mistake of ringing me with a voice call to respond to my request that the optician did not get back in touch with me.

A shortwhile later, I get an email from the eye hospital, from the cataract department. They said they were very sorry I couldn't get hold of the opticians that was supposed to do my postop check. And they offered me a new one, but it was in the centre of Liverpool.. I had asked for some different ones, but presumably they didn't do the postop check. On the letter it said that if I accepted this optician then they'd already been in contact and the optician had said they would text me an appointment...
it turns out that the opticians in Liverpool, at least, maybe the whole of England are give prior warning to the particular opticians to expect you for the cataract postop check up.. so did why did not the original opticians get back to me?
I decided to say yes, even though there was going to be a few parking problems, but I didn't know whether the disabled spaces were going to be a problem...I hoped not...

So the arrangements are going ahead for that.

Then I looked at available parking spaces for me nearest the opticians. The centre of Liverpool has changed since the beginning of Covid. And I don't find it disabled friendly, for parking from what I can see on the map and reading on the Liverpool sites there is now an inner control zone where there are tight restrictions and then a control zone...

I found it easier parking in London than trying to work out this in Liverpool....

So nothing is as I remember it. Traffic is going a different way round to get to certain parking places and so on. I spent the next couple of hours trying to work out where it would be a safe place to park if there was a space. But different sites said different things even the Liverpool site said different things. And then I was trying to work out alternatives. Finally, I have wasted a couple of hours on this and I am in sod it mode and I said I'll just go and park there.
But then I remember different blue badge spaces had limits like three hours or four hours depending where they were located. I was told I was going to be at the optician up to a couple of hours for the postop check. So that could take me pretty near the four hour limit and I don't want a fine for that...

So I looked at Liverpool one parking, but there is a lot of walking from there to the actual shop, although it won't look like it on a map. And I'm terrified of multistorey car parks anyway, because I cannot hear any spoken instructions from machines or pay machines et cetera... and I don't have a clue what to do at that point unless someone is there that I can ask for help. To park there needs a second mortgage.... even for disabled people...

Plan is to just to get to Liverpool on the day, early. And if I can find no parking in city centre near the shop, I will find somewhere else and get a taxi in.

I'll be glad when all this is over and sorted out...

Creative...it's a bright sunny day, and these are last years teasels gone to seed...

Have a good day

Taxi sounds like a good standby plan. Wonderful picture of those teasels.

Good morning everyone on what looks to be another sun shiny day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.8 this a.m.
Walked into town yesterday for podiatrist to tickle my feet with a scalpel and make them all shiny.
Mum’s iPhone is out of the drawer. Mrs Miggins turned it on - fiddled about with it for a few minutes and declared it to be fine. Mrs Miggins has an iPhone - those curs-ed things.
Today, Mrs Miggins and her twin sister are walking the final 4 mile leg of our planned coastal walk for this years family weekend - we have had some land slippage over winter so they want to check the path. They will get a bus from town to the start points. I will walk into town with them and collect prescriptions then walk down through the woods later and meet up with them at The Ship Inn for lunch.
Art bit - a colour wash.
Hope your day gives you time for yourself. I will make koffy and enjoy the morning sun.
An interesting sketch, I like it @dunelm

Thanks. I was wondering about trying to park by the Walker... i'll have another look at the map and see, make a list of the possibles. I used to park in all these places years ago, but it's not as easy now.... @Lamont D

Good luck with all the things you need for Mrs L

Good morning everyone on yet another sun shiny start this weeks bin lorry cavalcade day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.9 this a.m.
Mrs Miggins and her twin sister had a pleasant walk along the cliff path. I ate too much in the pub yesterday where we met for lunch. I did walk some of it off coming back from town, but still. Just an omelette then for dinner.
An afternoon of exhaustingly carrying mugs of tea to Mrs Miggins as she dug in the final couple of plants bought earlier in the week and then applied a coat of paint to the fence at the bottom of the garden. Phew!
A no idea day today - a walk in the sunshine though.
Art bit - ink on damp paper.
Hope the sun warms and soothes you today. I best make koffy.

I must admit that since l have gone back to drinking lots of water l have so much more energy.

Am relaxing at the moment with a coffee in my recliner chair in the cosy conservatory.

I agree about the lots of water but I still need a super charged booster @Krystyna23040
Maybe the sun will charge me up today...

Ink on damp paper works well @dunelm
I like it..

8.3 at 04.10 today. 2 cups of tea and some pills later it's 10.9. Great!

Leg day today but no more blood tests, as far as I know. Never can tell though. Afterwards Neil will take me to the shop to choose the blinds for our kitchen windows. Big windows, big blinds (and expensive) but the blinds we have are very old - still holding together but showing their age (49 years) and not keeping the sun out of my eyes in the mornings. The sun here, in the winter and spring, is low and shines right into one of the windows for most of the morning. Seems a shame to shut it out, but I can't see anything when it is clear weather. I did also have heavy curtains on that window, but when I took them down to wash them I found them too badly faded to put back up - and too long with the new radiators. Bought fabric to make new ones, but just can't manage it any more, so - new blinds it is. If they last as long as the old ones, they'll see me out.

Morning all

Greetings from afar.

Holiday has been very refreshing

Pushed the boat out a little bit today
A trip out to a French restaurant we used to frequent.

Food, if anything better that before.

2 starters, I had steak lauren had tuna steaks.
Several cappuccino.
And what they call a chocolate thali, but we call death by chocolate.

All of which tasted absolutely scrumptious
All for the unbelievable price of £50.

And yes, lauren did need a little help.

We'll when you're on holiday saying no just seems rude.

Glad the holiday is going so well. Pity I can't see the pics (don't have permission apparently) but never mind, I'd probably only be jealous.

So sorry @Annb

But in the hope others enjoy the living vicariously through others exploits as much as I have done over the years

( I had issues amending the pics.
Have edited one in o/p)

Hopefully two others will appear here .

Definitely makes me jealous.

Afternoon all

Blood sugars this morning were 6.3, what they are now after a bacon and sausage brown bread sarnie, I have no idea and no desire to know until this evening.

If you’re sunbathing in your mankinies and ladies in your speedos better put some sun cream on………
