What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on yet another deliciously quiet and cool start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.6 this a.m.
A day thinking of others today.
An old army friend, we met in 1968 and have been pals since. He lives in LA and has just had his first dose of chemotherapy. Steady as you go lad.
Another, in and out of hospital. Body not cooperating and one issue seemingly attracting yet another in a domino effect.
The stoic in me tells me that “it’s not the event that keeps us suffering, it’s the way we choose to handl it an how long we keep the pain alive”. Yet still.
Art session - our youngest grandchild, The Girl in The Bubble - now at the ripe old age of 5, was round yesterday and we used ink on damp paper to draw some trees using cocktail sticks.
I hope that your day includes a smile and some time for just to be. I best finish my koffy and get on with the day.

TGITB is showing great promise - no doubt guided by Grandpa. Nevertheless, an impressive job for a 5 year old.

9.7 today

Delighted to be in single figures again, although this may not last.

I've eaten a few spoonfuls of sandwich filler to see if I can reduce BG further. Even though I was hungry it's still a huge effort to force food down early in the day.

I love both of these tree effects, gentle and beautiful @dunelm

Good morning all. Up early today as I have an early hospital appointment for a scan. Nothing to eat since yesterday's evening meal. No test yet. Will test just before my appointment to make sure my sugar levels are not too low. Not posted on here for a while so a little out of touch. Hope all is well. Best wishes to you all. :)

5.5 this morning.

After walking Bonnie in the park we did the weekly Aldi shop, then to the pet shop to buy Bonnie's food, then to Roys - where we hope that we have bought a Bonnie proof Brabantia stainless steel kitchen bin.

Now relaxing with a coffee and reading.

9.5 at 03.50 today. Felt really bad yesterday evening and took myself to bed about 22.00. Fell asleep right away. Woke a few times - really sore - but eventually got up about 03.30.
BG has dropped now into to 5's. Just had breakfast, so we'll see how it goes.
Hope you are feeling more comfortable this morning @Annb

Thanks@Krystyna23040. It went OK and now- back home. I tested my blood sugars just as they called me in for the scan expecting a low score but it was 11.1! I had been walking quite a way to the department from the car park so maybe that contributed. Just got to wait for results. Best wishes. :)

Very disturbed night, stomach upset for me no obvious reason. Would like to go back to bed - but no. Am moving stuff into new kitchen. It should be an exciting time, but I am finding it difficult to decide what goes where. And this is not accounting for the many boxes of kitchen stuff up on the second floor, that will all need to be accomodated. Accusing myself of ingratitude doesn't help.

Thanks @Krystyna2340. Very tired and dozy but not feeling as grotty as last night. Neil's feeling a bit poorly today as well - he often sleeps badly but last night he didn't sleep. That doesn't help.

At least my BG is within reasonable limits. Thankful for small mercies.

Good that your scan went well @dogslife Sometimes (or actually quite often) there is no rhyme or reason when it comes to blood sugars. It is annoying.

Hope you began to feel better as the day went on @SlimLizzy and you got your kitchen sorted

A very busy couple of days.
Dsn, pharmacy, home for dinner (lunch), back to pharmacy cooking and cleaning, footie with grandkids and home to bed.
Today shopping with Mrs L, twice, once this morning, bought more garden stuff. Then lunch (dinner), then doctors, not good people. Home for tea, then walk again for Mrs L, then shop for something.
I'm knackered.
Bottom line, hba1c up to 58. Cholesterol up to 5.8, weight up to 91k, BP normal, liver ok (?) Kidneys not so much, creating lowered, more tests to be done. Back on a gliptin.
doctor aware the stress I'm under, need to go back to counselling, so being referred but I have to phone talking services. Back on anti-depressants. Next appointment a fornight, then another fortnight after. Apparently mental health practitioner and specialist concerned about yours truly.
and it's no surprise I'm not in a good mood. And I have conceded that I am in depression.
back to pharmacy tomorrow.
oh, as well as all this, my dividing fence has been ripped out and new one going in tomorrow.r
I'm knackered.
Mrs L has been doing more, and been told not to be so attentive with Mrs L.
that is very difficult for me. I'm just so used to just being and doing things for her.
The carers have been brilliant. The social services are organising somebody to visit Mrs L.
off to bed. Weather cloudy and feeling quite autumnal.
my best wishes to you lot as always.
Final thingy or P.S, postscript whatchamacallit. Whatever, Mrs L wants a small dog.
I don't think so.
