What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all from a bright but still breezy L.A. on a Monday, Monday for Mamas, Papas and everyone else. No known fbg here - sensor in the post though. Really good to hear Mr K is feeling brighter and in a bit less pain @Krystyna23040. Also good to sense your mood brightening with those changes. It will be interesting to see if your heart rate reflects the changes. Good to see you posting @alf_Josiah. An interesting week ahead here although the suspense of one event was kindly lifted well before "the consultation." @gennepher and @dunelm thank you both for continuing to share your gifts of art. Still far too early to cook sprouts, they need at least one frost on them to sweeten them slightly as well as a little help from their friends chorizo and chestnuts: its how they get by. That great chef Al Dente had the right idea. Y'all have a good day.
Thank you, Ian....

Significant amount of comfort eating last night. Even though I kept telling myself biscuits won't make you feel better, they will just make you fat. So more guilt inducing than comforting.
After a friendly coffee with several friends in a nearby town visited the supermarket with one of those friends. Unhappily on loading the shopping I discovered a nasty dent on the back wing of our new-to-us car. We have not even had it for two weeks.
Now I know it wasn't me. But I have a bad record with new, unfamiliar cars. Having managed to write two off over the years, within a very short time from acquisition. Once I misjudged the stopping distance and ran it into the bars surrounding shopping trolleys and the second time Someone stopped very suddenly in front of me and i didn't react fast enough to avoid them.
So I was probably a bit out of proportion upset for the amount of damage. It was lucky that my friend was there to offer hugs and sympathy until I was fit to make the 25 min drive home.
MrSlim was brilliant. He knew at once something was wrong and guessed it was with the car. But this time i was able to say truthfully " it wasnt me "
So hugs and then inspection of the damage, after which I drove it to a local garage for an estimate.
We believe someone hit the car while it was parked outside the house overnight.
Really there is no other possible explanation-- for when I parked in the town car park I was adjacent to another car on that side, which was still there when I left. So it cannot have happened there. At the supermarket there was no car on that side for the brief time I was parked there.
Neither of us can believe that it happened while we were out on sunday - surely we would have noticed, which leaves only overnight.
Have arranged a rendez-vous for the repair, but typically it is the one day MrSlim needs the car, so today, in a few minutes I am going to attempt to change the day by telephone.
Then I will phone the doctor for a rendez-vous. This is something new for me to be able to hopefully make selected phone calls in French - but only after careful preparation.
After the phone calls I really must get out in the garden and do the tidying up and planting that I was too distracted to attempt yesterday.
Edited to add :
By the time I had finished this post FBG was down to 6.1. Still a bit high for me, but going in the right direction.

Hug for the damage to the car and the obvious stress that brought about. Winner though for being able to make your phone calls in French.

8.5 at 02.00 today. Still in the 8's.

I managed to stay in bed for about 2 hours last night. Didn't use the patch because I wanted to take a better look at the instructions which differed hugely from the instructions the pharmacist gave. I did take extra doses of the painkillers yesterday but it didn't make any noticeable difference. I'll try again today.

Hugs @SlimLizzy
I know the feeling with this kind of thing... My car is 2 and 1/2 years old, and my friend recently noticed a dent all the way along the driver's side of the car. It was only in certain light, And if you stood in a certain, you can see it. It wasn't me. My perfect car with no dents, now spoilt :(

It took far too much of my time the next few days worrying about it... So the worrying I did was way out of proportion to what it actually was...

Mr Slim is a lovely person.

Hugs x

Good afternoon on yet another unpaid Uber driver sort of day.

Yesterday morning, 0820. Just fallen out of bed:
A ping on my phone; Message from from your GP Surgery
Chimp in brain screams “flue jab - 0830!!!
Quick. Dress, dash to GP surgery
Tried to log in on screen
“Computer says no”.
Receptionist - name, blah blah.
Your appointment is tomorrow!
Never mind - tap tap tappety tap - all done, go through, room 10.

Note to self: Ignore the chimp and read the blooming message - send three and fourpence, we’re going to a dance.

Art bit - ink and watercolour.

Be kind to yourselves and don’t listen to your inner chimp.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. If you don’t fit into those categories please read no further.
Yesterday afternoon being slightly active and venturing into the back garden was a huge mistake on my part. The ever vigilant Mrs J saw me in the back garden and thrust some secateurs into my hand and put me work pruning some over grown honeysuckle. So far today I have not been near the back garden. Now I feel an approaching late afternoon nap.

6.3.
Just back from afternoon not eating cake as it's #8 birthday.
Just so excited and funny, so loveable the little ratbag......
So much going on the next few days.
Hope I can update you all.

It does seem to me as we get older going into colder weather, that the unexpected happens, little or maybe sometimes not so little things with our bodies or doing things, just gradually become more difficult, more painful, more profound. As we try and cope with the ever increasing time to do it. More time spent organising our health, wealth and stealth of our mobility whether mechanical or natural. Even chores become more harder chores. Somethings become too much to even try.
even mundane things become a right pain in the......!
and the stairs are definitely getting higher and steeper.
other than that, everything is always fine, even when it's not!
or everything will be alright!

So, when things do not go easy or they try your patience and your ability to cope. Do as you are told, don't tell your partner, blame someone else, hide in your escape space, claim ignorance or the best, say your going to get something special.
Avoidance is a dance to avoid blame and your own sense of guilt.

Appeasement, self preservation with a skilled negotiating style, these tools should make life easier.
And I still have so much love for her.
My best wishes. Hoping your problems become easier.

Another day of tidying and throwing out....

Going to sleep now...
