What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

libre 4.3 fingerprick 5.4
still fairly high ketones 2.5 at moment (blood) will recheck later on.

weight 64.9Kg still decreasing plently calories eating down another 4kg more since october. Have lost third of my body weight in the last year. Will have to rethink eating i guess to maintain weight alongside possibly reduce ketones a little somehow. Trousers Small fits me now was XXL around year and a half ago.

New Years Resolution: Take care of self and ensure get treatment when needed rather than avoid/put off which have done for many years. Going to try chase up dentistry work as well hopefully get done whilst off insulin. Something which scared me was that was informed 1 in 5 patients with dka are usually rehospitalised within couple of months and very high percentage within a year for t1/lada that had dka. Will be a year in a few more weeks time.

5.7 on Dexcom. Tested with both just before I left for the gym and they were the same at 6.2. Really having a hard time getting my levels into the low fives. Even after a bike ride today it was 5.2 for seconds….then right back up to six. Weight trading, no change, walk afterwards…in the sixes again.
The very low carb keeps me safe, but I’d sure like to see lower numbers. I figured I’d “poke” my pancreas and just ate one Lindt ball. This has actually worked in the past. Time will tell.
Sunny and cool today, love the blue skies.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!

libre 4.5
thinking of popping across to the mainland again for a swim dependant on 2 things. 1) if wind settles down in the next hour or two and 2) how busy the ferry is weekends can be really busy at this time of year for the ferry.

@Ryhia nice to see that 5.5 the second slightly higher well within error ratio :)

@Bcgirl would be nice if liver didn't decide to try be helpful by raising levels to what it thinks(/used to) should be. prob is being a little stubborn.

@OrsonKartt divertirse disfruta tus vacaciones . (translated: have fun enjoy your vacation).

Not posted for a while as away at family wedding and now having to baby sit young grandkids. Up everyday at 0530 or worse (it's killing me slowly:(:() and fraudulent readings of mid to high 5's. Later on at more normal wake up times readings in the expected 6 and 7's before breakfast. Haven't posted as not normal conditions in my life. Not likely to get much better with xmas rapidly approaching and been told to let things go a little and enjoy which I suppose is well meaning but not necessarily helpful advice for the time of year. Good luck to all with your own challenges and struggles at this time. It shouldn't be a struggle but it certainly is in reality.

6.6 this morning and jumped to 9.9 after a keto chef roll! Thought readings would have been a one off with previously keto chef but nope - remainder in the bin off you go! Should have taken my own advice and steered well clear of any bread/carby temptations.

Perhaps the 5s are not fraudulent readings? When I am up at at 5 am my readings are lower, even had a 4.2 many years ago!
