What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

fingerprick 5.7 libre 4.8
breakfast then short walk 10-15mins. going to try get back to sleep.

Lazy day ahead TIRED lack of ability to get restful sleep. attached is pretty much what my sleep patterns been like for nearly long as i can remember (15+ years) :/

Going to try make appt with pain management clinic get some other meds current isn't helping the last round of pain relief injections had very minimal impact.

Hubby’s iodine uptake test showed his thyroid is not taking up iodine well. Test suggests inflammatory thyroiditis but doc should confirm this afternoon.
how did your hubby's dr appt go?

Beautiful sunrise
aurora - the northern lights :) see it fairly often its rarer to see colours with naked eye :)

Today's weather is according to bbc weather "light rain".. I think its identifying as near torrential..
usually find bbc's weather site tends to be pretty optimistic, at least thats case for west coast of scotland lol

I’m really struggling at the moment - I’m on a rake of medication plus Toujeo. I’m now on a sensor and that depresses me even more as I now see the fluctuations from 3.8 up to 17. I’ve lost weight, I was 14stone and now 12.

really would like to try to keep it level, I’ve been type 2 since 1995 - any advice appreciated
sorry to hear your struggles of late. Awesome job on losing a couple of stone! Sensors are great although if checking it frequently it can become a little obssessive... Maybe only check the sensor when/if alarms go off. 3.8 isnt too bad wouldnt worry about that 'low' - ensure to check via fingerprick both highs and lows, before any treatment decisions. Regarding the 17's - is that for 15 mins after seen the 17's? sometimes readings (if levels changing quickly) then change to lower... see the following img. Despite the quirks of CGM's they are an invaluable tool.

You haven't mentioned 'rake of medications' . maybe speak to dsn/consultant some type2's require basal/bolus insulin regime when the current med regime isn't enough. I'm tagging @Mark Rawlinson who is a type2 who maybe able to offer some advice, you could post in 'ask a question' or in the specific type2 area of the forum and should get some more useful relevant advice. Best wishes.

Love the pic @grantg.
got to love nature :) hard to take a bad img with beautiful surroundings/subject matter. Wish i had my proper camera with me at the time, rather than the mobile snap.

@ChrisT2 sounds like you had a nice day :) you'll be back on track before you know it.

roll on school run... going to try get back to zzz after :/

Last night shared wine and supper with a friend and a whisky after.

Maybe I shouldn’t be suprised that I am knocked out of Ketosis this morning. Blood reading says zero point one. It will be interesting for me to see how long it takes my body to get back to nutritional ketosis levels

Blood glucose as measured by libre this morning: seven point one.

My overnight glucose levels rarely dipped below six.

Supper was chicken with a tiny amount of roasted red pepper so very few carbs.

The tricky thing for me was the social lubricant

6.3 today.
@grantg , doctor said just as we expected, inflammatory thyroiditis. Apparently caused by a virus that caused his thyroid to release huge amounts of thyroid hormones….he's slowly getting better but very scary. Thanks for asking.
Our area is covered in low lying clouds making our supposedly sunny days just grey and dreary, but there’s no snow and that’s a big bonus!
Gym was a seven mile bike ride, back and tricep weights, heavy, then a 35 min walk.
Have been eating more carbs than normal and my body is responding very well, with lower numbers all around. So interesting. The added fibre seems to be making a difference.
