What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good happy national bin day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 12.9 my excuse was low blood sugars about 3:00am and the sensor alarm kicked off. Shortly the sensor alarm might get kicked off

I should eat something as I go to bed to correct this.

Mrs J is still in her pit / lair and apart from the radio playing peace and quiet reigns

Oh no, I hear movement from from the first floor in Tilehurst Towers
I better stagger into the kitchen and perform my function as tea boy.

Elo is playing on the radio, I have just greeted Mrs J with E’lo. Sanity pill, I kneed sum more.

Have a great day, smile and never trust an attack of flatulence at my age.

Oh dear I’ve written more than eye intended. Wrists slapped.

Have the very best day you can.

6.9 at 04.15 today.

Finally plucked up courage to weigh myself this morning. Last time I weighed myself (several weeks ago) I was 103.7 kg and I was pretty sure that I have been putting weight on but lo and behold! 103 kg - spot on. Not a good weight but at least not over 104 as I had expected.

Leg bandaging day today so have to organise myself to go out.
Progress of any kind.
Is still progress.

The road may be long.
But every step forward is a win

Hope the day goes well

Good that your weight has stayed stable @Annb

Ooops

Yesterday's fbg was...a sexy seal team six

Admittedly at the higher end then I'd like (6.8)

But it's been a while since I got any thing like that

So I'm hugging it close, like a long lost cousin.

Going for similar tomorrow, might be pushing it, but no harm in hoping .

But this inability, despite meds to see a full night's sleep, isn't going to help, sadly.

Oh well, here goes another try....

Night all.

Good morning everyone on another no show yet promised dump of overnight snow here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.7 this a.m. on the betting wheel of Mirth or Durth.
Woke this morning with these words of doom rattling around in my head:
“Here comes a candle
To light you to bed
And here comes a chopper
To chop off your head”
Thought I was in Newgate prison.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the outside elastic trickery for Mrs Miggin’ Scalextric car, work only began yesterday. (Rain in February is so unpredictable!).
However your happiness and wellbeing are our priority (Yeh, sure!).
Anyhow that is all now up and running.
Dentist yesterday - “How much??!!” - well £75.30 - wallet faints and hides in the corner of a pocket.

Thought for the day evidently is by Epicurus,”He who is not satisfied with a little, is satisfied with nothing.”
I shall make a little koffy and be sated.

Better than I deserve after taking a dive off of the wagon yesterday.

My new painkillers are definitely stronger than before. They seem to make me sleep for a bit longer than the last ones and wake up in less pain for a short time ie sleep for about 3 hours and then have a pain level I can cope with for another hour, or a bit more. That's an improvement worth having. 3 hours sleep last night and then another 3 hours in the chair. That's almost a full night's sleep. Winner!

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who sit in the Houses of Parliament, who come the revolution will lose their seats and have to stand.

Blood sugars this morning were 7.6, a new low for me.

So far this morning I have been taken to Tesco’s and part way through shop was banished to the koffy shop, what a result.

Now I am being a good boy and resting with my feet up.

After my post lunch nap my afternoon is unknown, Well that’s it for now.

5.9 this morning.
Have just taken Bonnie for a walk. We had to wait for a break in the rain and luckily the rain held off the whole way round.

I love the new stuff I am teaching but the downside is all the new exercise sheets I have to write and all the lesson plans for my 1:1s I have to alter.

It is a lovely feeling each time I complete a lesson plan and email it off to a client.

I got a rather nice surprise from Living Proof who I buy all our hair stuff from.
To celebrate 'random acts of kindness day' they sent me a free gift of my favourite dry shampoo for being one of their top customers.

Hi @Annb

Nice you have found a solution.

I just wondered if you'd considered or used a watch ?

The reason I ask, is I used to have the old Casio style digital watches

A light inside when you press a button, type

But as my eyes aged the light was just pants

Coincidentally, at about that time I started wearing. Wrist watch tracker type

Bright face, measures heart rate etc
(Very decent and good reviews)

I kept upgrading until my accident, then in the moving everything around to fit an invalid, the charger got lost

Eventually I replaced it, but went for a more common watch face

Nice on the wrist, various faces to choose from, measurements paces etc .

Watch face is off mostly but it lights up when lifting a wrist, or you can turn that off and press a button, nice and bright day or night

It also has a 'torch' option

I used it to turn light off then get into bed safely (no bedside lamp then )

Mines a redmi 5 smart watch.
Circa £25
Others brands available for less or much more £££

Spme can even makes calls, should the need arise

Might be a useful thing if you aren't near your phone and need assistance?

I'm very happy with mine

Amazon
My new Smart watch arrived in the post today, so I'll see how I get on with that. First have to figure out the instructions and see what it can do for me. That's going to be a bit of a task with my lack of technical understanding.

Good morning everyone on what just might be a pleasant sunny day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.6 this a.m. in that micro managed snapshot of blood letting.
Veteran’s Breakfast Club this morning - I don’t indulge but Mrs Miggins does and the company is good.
Also farmers market. Sourdough bread. It’s made at a farmhouse up on the cliffs a couple of miles away. If it has been too cold there would have been no bread rise so fingers crossed. Kimchi on the Korean Kitchen stall - got to get in there quick as it’s popular. Some nice veg as well.
Grandchildren traveling up from Birmingham and due round about lunch time. Their parents are off to Budapest for a few days so we get some rejuvenating fun and frolics with three miniature nut jobs although at ten years old the eldest of this bunch now towers over her mother. Must take after her father who is just short of 2m tall and was the tallest human in the building the day he started secondary school. Was the head teacher called Snow White?
Art bit - I have laid down a wash but it will have to wait until next week to complete. The grandchildren and I will be doing so experimenting with powder pigments and salt - well that was their request.
Hope your day includes a smile or two. I have given strict instructions to several awkward body parts about their cooperation over the coming days. Best get some koffy on the go to placate some of them at least.

@Annb

I have several NATO style straps in black blue or green.

Happy to send one on to you to see if that might help the fitment ?

22mm is the band size to lugs on the redmi 5.

Pm me if it's any good and with your address, and I'll send on one with pins to fit to watch asap .
Thanks for the kind offer @jjraak but I have already ordered a set from Amazon, which should be here soon.

7.9 at 03.30 today.

Feeling as though I'm going back downhill healthwise. Very cold, but temp is almost normal, left hand and arm very sore again and right arm joining in. Drinking water to combat nausea. Maybe just take some painkillers and go for a sleep and see if it improves.

Talking to my SIL yesterday (my husband's sister). She is an invalid who has home carers coming in twice a day to transfer her from bed to chair and then later from chair to bed again. Yesterday, they managed to attach the hoist wrongly and dropped her onto the floor. Luckily nothing was broken but she is covered in bruises. It caused quite a fuss, with managers coming in to investigate how it happened. Her granddaughter (a police sergeant) also came in and rather unnerved all and sundry with the number of questions she wanted answers to. Anyway, SIL was telling me that she also has discs in her neck which are worn causing the same trouble that affect both Neil and Alistair, as has one of her daughters (and even the policewoman has something similar developing). My husband also had something similar, as part of a much more widespread spinal problem. There must be some sort of weakness in that side of the family which is a precursor to this condition.

Shocked yesterday to hear that a dear family friend who was working for a charity in Tanzania, died. He was a good few years younger than me. No idea yet what happened, but it was sudden and totally unexpected.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

Blood sugars this Sunday morning were 7.9

Happily I will be unsupervised most of the day with strict instructions not to climb any ladders. Mrs J is Mordor bound, the abode is all mine and the choice noise and volume is mine :-) .

Stay safe, stay warm and if you woke up smile, smiling, is as now not taxed.

Good morning all from a sunny - for now - L.A. My fbg yesterday was 4.8 as measured by the labs at CUH. I was not an inpatient it is just one of the three part pre-consultation process. @Annb hugs for all your pain and the watch issue. @alf_Josiah and @Krystyna23040 thank you both for the PMs asking after me. @Lamont D hugs for all your stress caring for Mrs L. @dunelm enjoy the market and especially the time with your grandchildren. I will probably order a Libre sensor so I will post for a few days rather than just lurk. @jjraak and @Lamont D thank you for your concern over Totteringham. Have a sonnet. Is there a garage on the way to market for a card and 4 million lumens torch @dunelm? Moscow, Ho Ho Ho Lympics and rugby to watch. God be with you all.
