What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Blood sugars this morning were 6.6 another low number, the medics at the hospital are not going to be ‘appy, at this moment my blood sugars are 5.9 hey ho.
I am unsupervised for most of the day, in days gone by I would team up with my pal Chaos and Mayhem, but as I have written before they locked up in prison. I do miss them.

Mrs J has completed another of her paintings, paint by numbers for adults they are incredibly complicated, I shall attempt to add it to this post.

6.2 at 03.30 today.

Done nothing so far - fell asleep again in the chair. Must have needed it because I slept until just after 08.00.

Half price electricity from 11.00 until 16.00 today, so must get some washing organised to go on. Must also get down to doing more work on my writing project - I've been too tired to concentrate on it these last few days and I'm getting annoyed at myself for my procrastination. Spent more time thinking about a sequel than about the story itself - and that's just daft. You can't have a sequel until you have the main event.

Having a tough time at just now.
Son2 is in ICU. Been there for ten days now after his heart stopped while he was out for a run.
Luckily he got immediate first aid CPR and defibrillator but it was only yesterday the doctors were able to bring him round.
So in UK for a while. Staying with Mum which is not ideal, too far from the hospital, 90 minutes by car, but I will be on public transport. However open ended hotel stay is not feasible either.
My daughter has kindly shared her cold with both Mum and I. Not intentionally, of course. We had lunch together on Saturday and she started symptoms on Monday. I am recovering but Mum is quite poorly.

So sorry to hear your son is so ill. That must be incredibly worrying but so lucky he was able to get first aid quickly. Long journeys to visit hospitals is not ideal, but, as you say, neither is staying in a hotel for an indefinite period. All that and having a cold too. Plus some worry about your Mum. You don't have your worries to seek. I hope and pray that your son recovers well and quickly and that your Mum gets over her cold quickly too.

Crikey...that's serious

So lucky he had someone around to provide CPR, and the defibrillator.

So much to deal with @SlimLizzy .

Best wishes his recovery is as smooth as possible.

Hope mums cold doesn't cause her too much distress

@SlimLizzy, Me, me’s and myself are struggling for words to express how dreadful things are for you and your family, I / we hope for a full recovery.

A bit of positive news from me, yesterday I finished a course of iron tablets, which have been messing up my digestive system. Fingers crossed.

Away I must go, smile, blow raspberries to the day, hop and skip if able, I’m not, but never mind.

5.6 after a sudden spring to action after the emergency bladder siren went off.

@SlimLizzy - sad to read about your situation and hope that the outcome is positive.

A funeral on Friday. An old army pal. He organised his wake in December when he was still able. Friday was a celebration of life. Upwards of 80 of his old comrades attended. Stories were told, a cavalry trumpet played the last post and reveille for a life well lived.

We, who reside in Tilehurst Towers have a day composed of many halves, but at least 3, interspersed with bacon and egg sandwiches

Morning all from L.A. on a bright start to half pipe Sunday - not our first rodeo. FBG of 4.6 here so homemade carrot and corriander soup stays on the menu. I hope to test the impact of some foods I enjoy over this 15 day period. First up is the sourdough - not sourfaux - toast I am currently eating. @dunelm thank you for sharing the art and hug for the loss of your friend. @SlimLizzy hug for stress over your son. @alf_Josiah please pass on my congratulations for her art to Mrs AJ and enjoy the bacon and egg sandwiches. @Krystyna23040 if the weather is similar, walking Bonnie should be/have been gorgeous. Enjoy your Sunday - we shall be staying in the house.

9.6 at 03.00 today. Very short night - I only got to bed at a minute or so before 01.00. Been asleep since though, so not to complain.

Bright and sunny at present here but when I got up the rain was hammering at the windows.

2nd lot of washing on - the first is in the tumble drier. How do we get through so many towels in a week? Neil has been cleaning rust from the scaffolding and now found he doesn't have any zinc paint after all so the rest of the job will have to wait until he can go to town to get a can. Lots for me to get on with today. Must do a bit more on my writing but there's also some studying to do, if I can stay awake long enough.
 
This being Sunday, Lent 1 at that, I thought I would share a poem. The tone of Thomas' voice matches what I felt when visiting St Maelrhys' Church, Llanfaelrhys which has a kind of museum dedicated to his work upstairs. The church was hard to find, very austere and gave off a vibe the polar opposite of the poem. I think I should take off my sandals when seeing my own burning bush/bright field more often.

Correct attitude, i'd say.

Sad as the day might be, the sharing of joy of a life you and others were lucky to share, is how we truly honour those who have passed.

Thank goodness your son got first aid so quickly and hopefully he will make a good recovery.

Hope also that you and your Mum feel a lot better very soon.

Unfortunately @ianpspurs no walking with Bonnie at the moment as she is still recovering from being spayed.

Am looking forward to walking again.after she is checked at the vets on Friday
 
5.2 yesterday. 5.8 this morning.
Got lots of work done and also really enjoyed going through my new textbook. I am learning so much more about how our bodies work.

There is still so much we don't know about how our bodies work. It is fascinating learning this stuff. Looking forward to teaching the new stuff I learnt over half term.

My son had the great good sense to collapse in the company of trained first aiders and right outside the sports centre where there was a defibrillator immediately available. Even so it took three attempts to get his heart beating again.
Multiple tests over subsequent days
The doctors called him a mystery patient.
Even now they don't know what caused the original stoppage. Not ideal. Would have much preferred a definite cause and well known plan for recovery.
