Coffee would be nice.. My mum was brought up in Murton and said that gala day was always a day for letting down hair after the toil in the pits.. Today most of the blokes looked like a day working would kill them and the language was terrible. I'm not a prude or anti drink, but I was a bit ashamed of what we as a nation seem to have become.

let me know next time you are in Durham. We are 'outsiders' in Durham (only been here since 1990!) so have no links with mining. The gala means alot to many but unfortunately for many is an excuse to go and get drunk. however, the roads were all clear today - a bonus:)

Will do.. It'll probably be after summer hols but it would be nice to meet up. We ended up parking in West Rainton and getting bus in as park and rude full. I'm so glad I followed own sense of direction on way out as Mr E kept insisting bus station was up all of these vertical side streets- I'd forgotten how hilly the town is.

My boys were singing in the church just up from the bus station. The amount of cars parked on the roadsides (even the grass verges) leading into Durham was crazy. Yes it is very hilly - I'm too mean to pay for parking so park on one of the estates and have one mega hill to walk up!

40 minute swim this morning. Haven't been for years but I need to do something about my bingo wings!

Am hoping that I'll be able to use mine to fly us away on hols! Lol! When I hold my arms out, I can see where they're meant to end - lol! Did my walk and am currently trying to avoid my marking but must do it! Obs on Wednesday connected to targets! ! Deep joy! Nearly got run over as lunatic in BMW pulled out of turning as I was crossing road! Am currently thinking of phrases which BMW could stand for but all are too rude to post! Lol!

31 minutes so far on bike.. Will do some more later..just enjoying quiet as junior and hubby have gone to Liverpool to see Neil Young. I would like to have gone but hubby wanted standing tickets and I'm too worn out to stand these days.

Observations so late in the term? How silly!!! I still have loads of filing of children's work! I prefer my TA to work with the children. I can do admin work once children have gone home. I may have to fall in line with other teachers this year because I just can't keep up any more. We've also changed work books and files for next year so I think it will be easier. Good luck with obs. Put your Wonder Woman suit on your bingo wings can be your cape ;-). And yes I can see where my arm should end too! Our site supervisor is a keep fit instructor. She has given me some tips to exercise those arm muscles. Stand with back to table or work bench. Hold edge of bench and lower. Bit like a press up but using the muscles down back side of upper arm.

Went swimming this morning and I put my foot up on the bench. Felt back of thigh ..... BINGO wings!!!!! I could be one of those flying squirrels!! Or a manta ray! Oh dear!

Have I marked those books yet! Err no :(

....we get plenty of squirrels here but not the flying sort lol....unfortunately the seagulls here are very good at flying and swooping as tourists often find out if they sit on the beach with a sandwich, they often only get a couple of bites before they're grabbed!!

....was intending to do my exercise this afternoon as I went with a friend to Ashford, just got back...she wanted to do some shopping and we actually spent over two hours walking around the shops, so although it wasn't at all brisk it was well over TWO hours, c'mon guys, am exhausted lol...

Another week completed. Again, a minimum 45 minutes each day with an hour and a half on a couple of days. This coming Tuesday might be an issue though as I have my annual eye screening first thing in the morning, so it won't really be sensible to go out until late in the afternoon when my eyes have recovered. I plan to spend the day lying on the sofa in the conservatory listening to music. :)

Over two hours walking round shops would be at least 4 days worth of exercise for me, so don't knock it.

Julifriend, you always quietly get on with the challenge, and I feel humbled by your way of stating what you are achieving without the sort of dramatic irony usually coming from me.
Something to aspire to.
Thank you.

Not been able to do much. 40 mins seems so much more difficult to achieve than 30 mins.

Last few days I have made sure I have completed at least 10 mins physio, 10 mins walking, (usually with a rest in the middle) finishing the day with chair exercises and Pilates to make up the time.

I plan to get to the pool at least 3 times this week, and look at ways to vary the exercises.
