Blood Sugar in High 20's and GP not helping, please advise

Scottie
Please try to book up an apointment with your new GP though as a new patient this automatically gets you in to having a wellbeing check up.

I don't know if they have accepted us yet, but will call on Monday and see if I can organise this. Thank you.

OMG...

With registering with a new GP it should be just going in. Filling in a form and them giving you a welcome pack.

You should not have to wait to see a new GP. Its no longer like the old days when they used to send a card confirming that you are registered.

You should then just book up an appointment to be aeen as a new patient. This is normally with a nurse who will get all your height, weight and waist measurement and blood pressure done.

You should not have to wait for this at all....

You really should not have to wait... All records are sent electronically in seconds....

So if I have had at max. 100ml of milk, that should equal 4-5g carbs.

So total for today is 22g carbs.

Sounds about right for milk. Have you had cups of tea or coffee with milk in?

Pretty **** good for a low carb day.
How much fatty or protein food have you ate? Ie 6 slices of cheese, 7 walnuts, 1 chicken breast.

You just need to make sure you have enough fat too-to stave off any hunger pangs..

Yes, milk in tea.

Meals for today; crisp breads with butter and Mattersons smoked sausage, coleslaw and mushroom omelete with 4 eggs.

Feel really full, but no, I don't think I have had any fatty or protien foods. Didn't think about this.

Smoked sausage and omlette will have fats or protein in and the butter.. So you're quite minimal but you've had something..eggs are good for healthy omega3 fat and protein.

A quick extra are a few walnuts. 1whole walnut piece has about 2.6g of fat so I keep mine to 7 whole nuts a day and they have protein in too.

It'll take time Scottie as your body SLOWLY becomes conditioned to your new way of life. Stick to the program and those numbers will come down.

BG at waking up 18.6 so a small improvement. Have had little sleep, don't know why I couldn't sleep.

Having steak & salad for tea tonight so that will be nice.

Well done Scottie, as we have been saying, small steps are good!

What are you having in your tea instead of sugar?
