Reactive Hypoglycaemia

Same here 8 years ago mri, eec 24 hour heart monitor while at work 12 hour fasting, neurologists all because of dizziness, confusion, lightheaded, weak legs etc
Turns out fh symptoms :)

Hey Linagirl Did your Docs/ Specialist checked that again and are u constantly too low with vitamin d?! I have also swollen joints. They test for inflammation and IgE etc are immune sistems each one has different work to protect the body. From that they can find out a lot about autoimmune disorders and different things. It is a very complicated sistem we have in our body! Interesting thou. Had yesterday 2.8 blood sugar, and it hit me hard after! Just recovering from that. Sometimes I get 2.8 and after eating I be grand again. But for some reason it didn't happen yesterday. Take care everyone and a nice weekend
I do have low vit D jey. I supplement each day, what are the blood tests you mention ?

Has anyone ever looked into gluten insensitivity? I wonder if we all react to the carbs or the gluten? Also Kaz I have heard of something called gluten ataxia which is essentially an autoimmune condition which can cause balance issues as a result of a gluten intolerance. another thing to look into I know but worth considering x

I suppose chips don't have gluten but interestingly I gave up gluten a couple of weeks ago and accidentally ate some
On Monday and spent Monday and Tuesday with pins and needles in my scalp. Stopped the gluten Wednesday and the pins and needles hAve gone! Spooky.

Everyone wanted a takeaway tonight and I panicked thinking oh god what can I eat so our local Chinese made me chicken foo young no sauce and boy was it delicious!!!!! :) happy girl

Hi I was wondering that befor too about the gluten. I eat for 2 days gluten free but got heartburn and sort of reflux. After that I eat gluten again and I got better! Maybe just bad timing.

Thought I would share this with you.
Low carb pancakes with strawberries Greek yog and cinnamon :) yum yum x

It's ricotta cheese 60g, 3 eggs, ground linseed 30g and I tsp baking powder and 0.5 teaspoon salt. You can add a little sweetener to it if you need to but I found that they were tasty without and the strawbs and cinnamon sweetened it. It was lovely. Xx

Not sure my lovely breakfast agreed with me. Felt fine until two hours post meal then started to get a room skinny feeling checked blood sugar and it was 4.3 so currently tucking into a mackerel salad. Wondering if the low was preceded by s spike so will check it carefully next time x

There isn't anything in it that would cause me too much of a spike, but we are all different. Linseed has some carbs in it and there would be sugar in the strawberries and Greek yogurt. Were you low before you ate? I'm. I sometimes think with me that if I'm a little on the low side before eating and I don't eat something that will raise me enough, I soon get low again.

I'm trying to eat a small amount of carbs with each main meal and topping up every 2 hours ish in between to try and prevent the lows. It's not low carbing but I'm going to give it a try first. The trouble with me at the minute is that I'm not sure if a lot of my symptoms are due to anxiety rather than glucose levels or food. My parents are away next week and I know I'll have the kids on my own most of the day which scares me a bit. I'm also afraid to go out with them by myself in case something happens. Such a horrible feeling and a horrible, frightening time at the minute

I was diagnosed with a stroke last month with no clinical evidence to suggest I had actually had one other then 'my story' the consultant told me I had either had a stroke or had MS. My story was that I had an odd episode where I started stuttering a lot for five mins was a bit shaky and felt a bit queasy and went pale. Looking back my cheek was twitching a bit too. All of which could be accountable for RH but was not considered. I started having violent tremors and twitching muscles a week later and then collapsed in a restaurant having munched my way through a bowl of chips having home hungry. My sugar didn't drop but I was definitely having a hypo and it may have dropped suddenly I suppose as was only 6.6 when tested and I know the carbs I put away would have had me up at 14 or more. Of course I only know this now I have been monitoring for a few weeks and my symptoms which were a lot of blurred vision dizziness and tremors are almost gone
According to all criteria for the diagnosis of diabetes 1 or 2 random blood tests with a reading above 11.1mmol/L is diagnostic for diabetes, whether you have eaten or not. The HbA1c is a poor way to measure diabetes or disregulation of blood sugar as it does not pick up people who are going very high and very low. Acute hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia both carry serious risk factors.

Thank blip22 well I have GTT on Tuesday but my fasting glucose is only 4.7. I know for me I have an RH profile not straight forward diabetes but thanks for the information. Emma

I know Kaz it's awful isn't it? My DH has flown off to Holland on business and my little one is poorly! I can't drive cause of my possible strike so tonight my poor dad has had to do a half hour trip to take me to Shropdoc with little one in this horrid weather. My daughter has had to come home from her dads so that I am not home alone with little one. It's just so difficult sometimes functioning with little ones and feeling safe. I completely understand. Do you have a friend you could ask to spend some time with you this week? Xx
