    4:4 blood reading.

Hi, this evening due to pain in my fingers I used my little finger to take my blood sample and had a reading of 4:4. I had fasted all day and had a reading of 5:6 prior to eating dinner. I’m now wondering if it makes a difference as to which finger you us to gain the blood sample as I’m...

    Just diagnosed

I am new also. I bought a testing meter on Amazon straight away to keep an eye on my levels. I also had an appointment with the diabetes nurse at my GP surgery. I’ve an appointment to get my eyes checked at the hospital and also have been put on an online course to learn about diabetes (but that...

    Fatty liver disease and coldness.

Newly diagnosed and still struggle with what this all means etc. I had a bad night last night, couldn’t get to sleep so I left my bed and went into the lounge to watch TV….then I ate a lot of chocolates which I’d previously been able to ignore, which lead to me eating cheese and crackers. This...

Which monitors do the NHS prescribe?

I have a Sinocare safe AQ and it seems to be working well (not that I’ve any previous experience as this is all new to me too) I do notice that my morning levels are always higher than the previous evening levels, which I am assuming is connected to the dawn phenomenon.

    Type 2 Newly diagnosed T2.

Hi, I’m confused! I was recently diagnosed with T2 diabetes and so far I’ve not had much in the way of help. I bought myself a blood tester which arrived yesterday. My blood was 7.0 after fasting for 10 hrs. It went down to 6.8 after a cup of tea with milk and then after a sandwich up to 9.6. I...

    Yogurt…..

I can any one tell me the best name/brand yogurt to buy as I’m getting confused with them all. I know any with added fruit are not good, but thought if I had a low carb/sugar one and added my own fruit (berries) that would be ok for lunch or a snack.

    It’s all too much.

Thank you both for your replies, I much appreciated reading them. I’m trying hard again today, which has been made easier now I’ve got a blood monitor to keep an eye on my numbers.

    Hyperglycaemia?

Hi, I’m very new to all of this. My first test I was at 9.7 the second was 8 something (blood taken at Drs surgery) yesterday I bought my own blood tester and it read 10.5. I also started reading up on hyperglycaemia. The chart that came with my tester states 10.5 is high. I took mine again...

    It’s all too much.

Hi, I was diagnosed late Nov and am still in denial. I did try to cut back on carbs (my actual diet isn’t too bad although I am a carb addict) I’m finding it very hard emotionally because it all just feels like too much. I have had brain surgery in 2005 to remove a tumour. I was hours away...

    I think I’ve gone into denial…

Gosh, I was coming on here as a newly diagnosed T2 person to write pretty much the same post! I was 9.7 on my first non fasting test (although I’d only had a cup of tea that morning) the second fasting test I was 8 something. This was a few weeks ago and I have turned down medication as I want...

    A newbie.

Hi, I was diagnosed with T2 at the end of November so this is all very new to me. One thing that has confused me is: I am not thirsty, nor do I need to pee more frequently, and I have no hunger at all. I’ve noticed that I am feeling quite unwell though, kind of spacy, heavy head and just...
