I have Asperger Syndrome which is an autism spectrum condition and a full diagnosis of Adult ADHD which are characterised by impairments in social communication, social interaction and social imagination. I also have a rigid and somewhat unpredictable routine. I also experience obsessive rituals, some a bit overwhelming. But I have a talent in articulate creative writing skills and possess a photographic rote memory. I have sensory sensitivity and get upset by loud noises, bright colours or lights, and notice the texture and consistency of certain foods more making my dietary choices extremely limited or restricted to certain food components. I dislike conflict and lies. The Adult ADHD also makes me very moody and cross.
Good Morning, my good friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk type 2 life forum,

I am posting to impart to you that the nurse practitioner at my health practice who administered my intramuscular injection for my schizoid personality disorder mental health disability that runs concurrently with my Asperger Syndrome, who is also a diabetes specialist, advised that I'm checking my blood glucose level way too often and that it's unnecessary and that I'm not making the test strips last, hence costing a lot of money for the health concern that subsidises it. She's also concerned I'm using way too much nicotine replacement therapy and that I'm not really reducing the amount of hand-rolled cigarettes I'm smoking, so I have an appointment with my GP today from 8:50am-9:00am. to discuss this with her. My good friend on this forum, @debrasue observed it might not be so good an idea to use nicotine replacement therapy whilst smoking and was a bit concerned. Thanks, my lovely friend, @debrasue, I'm getting it sorted out! You're a wonderful lady.

My blood glucose reading at 6:55 Ante Meridian today was 6.6 mmol.

Sincere kind regards,

@autisticwonder1970 (Johnny Baker, sufferer of Asperger Syndrome, Schizoid Personality Disorder and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus). x X x.

Hi Johnny - its good to hear from you and I'm glad to hear that you're having a chat with your GP about the nicotine replacement therapy. You're right - I was worried about you!
Out of interest, how often are you testing your blood glucose?
Big hugs xx

Good Evening, @debrasue , I am writing to impart to your lovely, sweet, kind and caring self that I was testing my blood glucose before breakfast, after breakfast, before lunch, after lunch, and before dinner and after dinner and other over-frequent times of each day. My GP noticed I'm not on an Insulin product, but Lixisenatide, a glucagon resembling compound type of formula. I just take my fasting blood glucose level now upon waking in the morning.

@Liam1955

Yes all is well I had a bad few months because after the op they didn't make any increase in the TRT treatment, so put on a stone finally saw the endo a month ago and was given an increased dosage, one month later, I've lost that stone I'd gained and feeling super healthy.
How are you and your troubles Liam.

I worked in a home for people on the Autistic spectrum and me and another staff member had taken a client out to the pub (big lad - 25st +) and he had a massive epileptic seizure while we were out in the street. It was raining hard and he had recently had surgery on his brain for his epilepsy so I couldn't just let him drop (which is what his care plan says I should have done) - anyway he fell forwards towards me and I supported his full weight bracing myself with one leg backwards (imagine a bear hug) and I actually felt something 'go' in my back. My employers claim its entirely my own fault because I should have let him drop.
Oh my goodness, that sounds terrible! Do you still work for the care home? If not, (or even if you still are, and want to take it further) it sounds to me as if a good lawyer could make mincemeat of that care plan and your employers' attitude...
Sending big hugs xx

Good Morning, to my lovely friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk type 2 life part of the diabetes forum,

Today is an important day on my calendar for me, wednesday 9th november, 2016, and my appointment is due at 11:20 ante meridian at the nhs secondary care trust, the diabetes community clinic, springfield medical centre, union road, london SW8. I will have my urine checked for glucose and ketones (I have been having 3 sugars in my coffee for the past 3 days as well as a huge jamaican jerk chicken and rice meal last night that I cooked for my 2 friends and I), I'll have my hbA1c checked, my blood glucose level, my weight and my blood pressure. I've been taking my lixisenatide glucagon-like peptide injection consistently every day with no problems. I'll post all of the results and the outcome of the appointment tomorrow.

My blood glucose reading today at 6:52 ante meridian was 7.6 millimoles per litre, a bit over normal, after 4 hand-rolled holborn yellow smooth taste rolling tobacco cigarettes and 2 sips of tap water. haven't eaten anything yet. this was a fasting blood glucose reading.

love from johnny baker and so sorry for my absenteeism from this fab group of wonderful little people.

I'm just going to impart to you all a very honest, and well-memorised-by-rote overview of all the foods I have been consuming in the past 2-3 weeks. As you can gather, most of it contravenes the LCHF Diet which I'm going to really try to incorporate but having immense difficulty. Alot of these foods are "comfort foods" and not particularly healthy.

* Sliced tomato sandwiches (salt and pepper added, Bloomer crusty bread with Sesame Seeds)
* Lemon Curd sandwiches (Same bread as above)
* Orange marmalade sandwiches
* Strawberry jam sandwiches
* Occasional (very sporadic) fried egg sandwiches
* Jerk chicken and rice
* Jerk pork and rice
* Doner Kebabs
* Tuna, Pasta and Sweetcorn Kernels Bake
* Coffee with 3 teaspoons of sugar and semi-skimmed milk
* Strong tea with 3 teaspoons of sugar and semi-skimmed milk
* Tap water
* Half a family-sized pack of Chili Tortilla Chips

As you can gather, I'm having immense struggles with diet, activity, nutrition and other aspects of my life. I have mild immobility, too, due to musculoskeletal pain and um under St. Thomas' Hospital Physiotherapy Department.

My Health Statistics with my GP showed:-

Weight:- 86 KG (approximately 13 stone 8 pounds
BMI:- 30.2 (Obese)
Waist Circumference:- 42 Inches
Renal Profile:- Slightly low sodium, low vitamin D
Blood Pressure:- Systolic: 118
Diastolic:- 63
HbA1c:- 7.0

Love to you all,

Johnny Baker, sufferer of Asperger Syndrome.

Good Afternoon, my friends, at 12:42 Post Meridian on Wednesday 9th November, 2016,

I have just arrived home after my Diabetes Community Clinic appointment. They're very pleased with me and don't want to see me for another 6 months.

This are the results of the tests they conducted in their diabetic health checks:-

Systolic Blood Pressure:- 135
Diastolic Blood Pressure:- 72
Urine:- Slight trace of protein, no glucose, no ketones
Renal Profile:- Pending
HbA1c:- 6.6 % (48 mmol).
Blood glucose:- 6.6 mmol.
Weight:- 86.6 KG with clothes and heavy bunch of keys round neck. Nurse Maya went for
85 KG.

I'm very happy with this result.

Good Afternoon, @PatsyB. At my diabetes intervention team, Diabetes Community Clinic, 110 Union Road, London, SW8, near my one bedroomed council flat, if I ask them nicely they inform me of the results of each diabetes check, and I write them down in my notebook. In the post, they also send to my flat, a list of all my medications, treatment plans, descriptions of my situation/environmental factors/socioeconomic predicaments/past treatments that are relevant to my diabetes type 2's course and prognosis. In short, they send to me through the post a hard copy of my diabetes information.

Johnny Baker, sufferer of Asperger Syndrome.

How is everyone?

I've had a very physical holiday which has left me needing another holiday. Other half says I have flu. I hope not.
Although I'm aching everywhere. :(
Everywhere states exercise is good for arthritis. What goodness in it is there? Aches and pains on top of agony walking.

I skipped my flu jab before hols. Maybe try and get it next week, if this isn't it.

I hope everyone isn't suffering with the dreaded flu preventable by the jab, or is it?

@ickihun Oh Vicky, why did you not have your flu vaccine before? You need to ring up the GP Surgery first thing on Monday and get an appointment for your little Boy and also for yourself. I think if you don't see a Doctor you are going to very poorly, and all your good work with your results will go down the pan. Please Vicky get yourself seen too and that poor little Boy. Do you think he has been sickening for his Mummy? Poor wee soul.

Ironically he's cured. He's dancing to xmas songs in the living room as we speak. His mum's tlc has cured him. He back to normal. Well, whatever normal is!
I'm in bed. Off to sleep, for now. A disturbed nights sleep never bodes well. ;)

My GP told me that NHS figures show that last year the flu jab was around 30% effective, but the signs this year already are that it is even less effective than that.

Good Morning Type 2 Life Forum Friends,

My Diabetes is well-controlled the Diabetes Nurse Specialistinformed me on my appointment last Wednesday. Thank you from my heart for all your encouraging replies and quotes. I wouldn't have achieved this juncture of my life without diabetes.co.uk and all the wonderful people on it.

I went to see my elderly father in his warden-controlled flat called Brian who liveds in Finchley, North London, a long way from Vauxhall, in South London, where I currently live. I grew up in Finchley. He gave me my school photograph from my secondary school, Finchley Manorhill Lower School, where I attended before being statemented by the London Borough of Barnet Social Services as being vulnerable to bullying when they first diagnosed my autism spectrum disorder. I would like to share that school photograph with you all, with an up-to-date image of me taken on my Samsung Chromebook Laptop Computer Webcam. As you can see in the selfie, the school photograph shows me not making eye contact but I did look better dressed and more well-attired than now. I didn't have diabetes or musculoskeletal problems then, either.

Love to you always from Johnny Baker, sufferer of Asperger Syndrome. x X x.
