Fbg 6.2

No new beasties today...

Nearly forgot to do a creative for today...
I just didn't feel like doing much today...
I took a kaleidoscope of my diabetic socks, and another of my coloured pens, and imposed them on each other and that was the best I could do today.... actually I did quite a few of these and I like them.

Also just posted a new wildlife video.
Badgers Willow & Thor and Cats Jade & Merlin

Instagram.

TikTok

TikTok is playing up, but my badger video does come up after a few seconds...

Night night

Take care
A smashing and colourful kaleidoscope to greet the day.

Good morning everyone on a wonderful bright and sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
5.6 this a.m.
My FitBit shuffled of it’s mortal coil yesterday - will I still be able to walk? Only bought it in 2015, I have socks older than that.
Today is overbooked. My social secretary has handed me a bit of a challenge: out to lunch today with her siblings and then dinner this evening with some of our offspring. A healthy and sensible way would be to have a good lunch and a very light dinner but it will be the other way round I fear. For lunch it will probably be a lick of the menu and a mug of tea. I prefer not to have much during the day especially if the day carries lots of temperature.
Art bit - a dib dab of trees.
I hope that you and your day are in accord. Vivere est militare! Let there be koffy.

6am FBG 5.9
Yesterday spent a lot of time in the garden, had decided on a cheerful sunflower yellow top which turned out to be a mistake as it became covered in Blackfly the minute I set foot outside. There were clouds of them. My climbing french beans are covered with black aphids. Last night attack by snails has destroyed the few runner bean plants still in pots, but the ones i planted out yesterday are fine. So far.
MrSlim has been working on the kitchen, repaired the floor and started installing damp proofing to the walls. This will be hidden behind tongue and groove panelling, which he will finish installing today, just as soon as he has enough wood.
Have got apple cake in the oven.
HH returns today. He has been working on the under stairs panelling scraping off the loose paint, sanding, filling and priming the door to the cellar.

After a an hour FBG was still 5.9

9.5 when I finally checked this morning and it has been climbing ever since. Last reading 14.9. Only had one cup of coffee and a glass of water.

Overcast and breezy here. It's so dim, I still have the lights on in the kitchen.

EDIT: That was earlier today and I seem to have forgotten to post it. BG's been pretty high all day.

This is a beautiful groove of trees @dunelm

10.5 at 04.00 today. Libre tells me it has been up to about 16 during the night.

7.5 now (08.10).

Not quite so dark today - the cloud cover is a lot higher but still not particularly bright.

EDIT: 11.30 and the sun is splitting the pavements - or would be if we had any pavements here.

6.6 this morning.

Off to classes in Norwich shortly.

Was able to teach classes yesterday evening without the Nordic poles. The Norwich hall is huge so I will take the pole as I will definitely need them. Am being so careful not to overdo it. I have overdone it in the past and it never goes well. So at last l am being sensible.

Good morning all. fbs at 8.15 am = 9.2. Fell fast asleep early evening so no supper/ snacks. Nothing to eat after evening meal at 6pm. Windy here and can hear distant thunder. Best wishes for a safe and pleasant week-end.

8.10am FBG 5.7
pretty good considering the unsuitable white bread sandwiches consumed yesterday. Not enough time for a proper meal and offerings from cafés were meagre.
No FBG yesterday. Up too early 5.am and out for tbe day.
@dogslife thunder here was more than distant. Downpour that made it's way into the house in several places. Indoor waterfalls again. Thought we had seen the last of those. Still the timing is good. Another few weeks and the kitchen might have been finished. As it is still an empty shell the need to investigate under the floor in one corner is a setback, but not
too distressing. It appears that the existing pipes the new drains were connected to are damaged and will have
to be replaced. More work in the cellar. Possibly need to dig up and check the new drain connections as well. This will have to wait because there is a scaffold in the way where HH was repairing the leanto roof before the weather changed and he was diverted to indoor jobs.
As usual one job tackled leads to two or three more.
Today am planning to do a couple of small jobs in the garden, a little essential housework and laundry and then I might do some painting. Meals today are going to be scratched together from remnants in the fridge and freezer.
House is well on the way to so-dirty-and-messy-I-can't-stand-it, but that is normal HH is filling and sanding and the dust gets everywhere. MrSlim is generating sawdust and that too rapidly spreads throughout the house, despite efforts to contain it.

Good morning and a Happy Father’s Day to all who identify as a Father. Always a non event day I feel apart from those who sell cards for all occasions or the persuaders of BBQ events. Bah! Humbug! :jimlad:
5.8 this a.m.
Veterans breakfast club yesterday on Falklands Liberation Day followed by purchasing of sourdough boules at the market.
Today - the sun is shining so advantages must be taken to get out into it.
Art bit - what happens when you wet paper with saline and then drip ink onto it.
May your day be sunny and bright - already finished my koffy.
