I will be interested how you get on with the Dexcom. I'm currently on 15 day free trial with Libre.Dexcom 7.7 (new sensor)
Meter 6.6 - I will take that as I always get funky readings for 3 days with a new sensor.
Off for a workout![]()
7.7 today, been a bit remiss with posting as on a short holiday break in Spanish sunshine and banned by family for being too "precious" regarding available foods. Unfortunately very little anyway in low carb choices as resort mainly catering for the tourists with pizza, burgers and pasta bars in abundance. We did manage a steak night which cost more than the holiday but that was still heavily carbed with garlic bread, french fries or jacket potatoes as the only sides available, cancelling out any advantages of a steak. However numbers never exceeded the 9's when I could sneak away in private and test (what has my life come to?) More worryingly though is my predicted Hba1c has shot up from mid 40's to low 60's (5.9-7.5% for the non UK) which does not bode well for my blood test at the month end or thereabouts. Oh well off to slum it in the sun for a few hours and boil off some of those carbs.
Years ago I ordered gammon, egg and chips, without the chips. It did come without the chips, but with a big slab of cake instead, reason given - because I wasn't having any chips. It’s annoying isn’t it how restaurants can’t adapt to low carb. In a restaurant recently I asked for my chips with my steak to be replaced with salad but omg you’d have thought I’d asked for the impossible!!!
I’ve honestly never had an issue with restaurants. Mind you I rarely eat out….but when in the airport heading to Mexico from Calgary, I was able to order eggs, bacon and sausage from the side dish menu, as suggested by the waitress.7.7 today, been a bit remiss with posting as on a short holiday break in Spanish sunshine and banned by family for being too "precious" regarding available foods.
