What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hope you start feeling a lot better tomorrow @Annb
8.3 at 02.45 this morning.
The (presumed) inflammation that has been travelling around my body has moved on from my right foot and ankle to my back, and is seriously painful. Having to take more painkillers than I can usually get by with. Makes it manageable but not good.
I did some potting up yesterday (lavender) but that was all I could manage. The rest of the day was spent in the big chair, off an on. Sitting is not a lot better than standing at the moment.
So sorry to hear that you had a difficult day yesterday@Annb and hope that you are feeling better today.

6.2 on the latest blood testing machinery that the NHS can afford, the beep
sakid.6.2so all good. I'm sitting in my comfortable chair as told to before lunch and lunch before PT.
They are still deciding where to send me.. Won't be home..
Mrs L is still in care home
6.4 this morning.Good chat with psychjatrist,which wasgood.Good session withphysios.

6.0 yesterday and 5.1 this morning.
The engineer will finish the boiler installation by lunch time.
Luckily we have a little fire that gives our a lot of heat so am quite cosy here in the conservatory with my coffee.

Rather chilly in the rest of the house. Actually as I am typing I can here water starting to gurgle through the radiators.

8.8 at 02.45 today. In the 6's now.

I couldn't get warm yesterday, despite 4 layers. Maybe the layers were too thin. Very cold earlier on today as well. Ended up in my heavy winter dressing gown and a blanket over me, right up to my shoulders, in the big chair, to get warm. I do have a bit of a sniffle as well, maybe that's it. Currently wearing a big fleece jacket. It's rather blowey outside. That, with a low temperature, is enough to chill everything down despite insulation.

It might be worth getting a heated blanket as I find that very useful for keeping warm without having to put the central heating way up.

Good afternoon everyone from the dark and dangerous north.
5.6 this a.m.

A busy couple of weeks and an example of turning tragedy into something wonderful that I want to share.
A year ago today our young neighbours lost their daughter who died two days before the due date and the poor lass had to wait to give birth.

Not long after, they received a hamper through the hospital from an unknown couple who had had a similar experience.

Today, our neighbours marked the anniversary by carrying out random acts of kindness; paying for the next meal in local cafes, the next groceries. That kind of thing. They also delivered two hampers to the maternity ward to be handed to those who may experience a loss in such a way.

Some folk are just kind.

Had a visit from my social wor!we who asked me lots of questions and more of less confirmed that I will be? leaving sooner rather than later.
going to a card home.for the are I still Need be works for the discharge team.
I reckon a couple of weeks go.
smiling as I'm tyling.

Good morning all. fbs this morning was 11.7. May be a delayed reaction to the party buffet food we had the night before? Back to a healthy diet today! Off to take flowers soon to mum's grave. She would have been 97 today, bless! Then will have to turn my mind to packing for a 4 night coach trip to Wales. It will be our first holiday for many years due to looking after parents so I'm a bit out of practice. We do have overnight stays at our caravan but most things we need are already there so very little is needed to pack apart from a little fresh food and a change of clothes. It's things like toiletries and medical items that need thinking about as well as different clothes for various weather conditions, evening meals/ entertainment at the hotel etc. Better get started! Best wishes for the coming weekend to you all. :)

5.1 this morning.

I got so much work done today and am really up to date.
That does feel really good.

A class member yesterday warned me that the A47 is closed tonight and over the weekend. Luckily it is not. I checked with National highways and it is closed during half term. So it won't affect our drive to Norwich for classes tomorrow.

I'd recommend the same, @Annb

Wife's friend had one when I baby sat her cats one holiday...barely touched her heating system.

Bought one for Lauren, best of both worlds really

When she's cold but I'm hot, there's now a happy solution.

Fbg 7.4..ho hum.

As you say from tragedy to such an unexpected joyous moment for others ...what marvellous people.

Such resilience to create such a moving act from such a dark moment .

Respect.

It's Wales...if it helps 4 suitcases is my tip.

One marked summer, others marked autumn spring & winter....lol.

Hope the break is all you wish for .

They do say there is no such thing as the wrong weather , it's the wrong choice of clothes that make it so .

Best wishes for a sunny & dry break away ..x
