Yes, to all 3 especially the last one, tho I was too stunned at the time to do the ol "quick shuffle, that never happened, right " dance.

But I'd love to have seen the CCTV footage.
I must have looked like something out of the roadrunner cartoons, with my legs freewheeling in mid air wildly fur a second or two, before I plonked myself so ungraciously on the concrete ...ouchie.

As for your day, awkward sounding as it is, aren't we blessed to Have family that are so willing to help.

As an aside, I noted someone posted regarding car battery (maybe @dogslife ?)

Lauren's father been poorly of late.
So I'm designated driver for multiple hospital visits etc.

Had occasion to drop him and Lauren off, then sat and waited with car

Stupidly left side lights on

Come time to collect them, of dear, battery flattened....aagghh.

But I remembered I'd bought a small battery jump starter for the nissan.

Had one for most cars over the years, rarely used but handy back up to have

Snapped it onto battery, stared car immediately...job jobbed .

Neither of them any the wiser ..lol.

Paid for itself there and then in lost time calling out AA.

Pick em up on Amazon etc from £35+ for a decent one.
Size of a large mobile, so easily stored in car boot until needed.

With winter on its way and the extra load on the battery , maybe a good time to consider buying one if some haven't already got one...mmhh

Good morning all from a more Ian friendly day weather-wise here in L.A. My Fbg was 4.8 on the soon expiring Wonderwheel. A new one awaits then probably one more before my next scan on October 16th. Soon after that we, as a family of 20 or so, head to North Wales (Llŷn Peninsula) to scatter MIL's ashes, see JKP's paternal relations and various sights. It will be our wedding anniversary while we are there - 42 years. I'm hoping the Rhod Gilbert quip how old were you before you realised you could take off your cagoule? is not applicable. @Annb I hope today goes smoothly with a caring son's help. @jjraak a nice easy day - easy like a Sunday morning, no dancing on the ceiling please - sounds perfick. Good idea to carry one of those Power Packs. @Krystyna23040 take it easy young lady. @Mrs Redboots hug for the less than ideal sleep. Peace be with you all.

Thank you for the good wishes. The quote was a favourite of a few colleagues of mine with Welsh origins. MIL was remarkable in many ways. Until she was over 90 she used to attend country fairs displaying her skills in selecting fleeces - including Alpacas - doing the entire processing thereof, spinning them into wool and knitting that into jumpers for family and friends. Her spinning wheel is still here. Our grandchildren, when told of her passing, wanted to have cushions or scarves to remember her by the smell. She also, surreptitiously, used to slip them toffees when they hugged her goodbye.
 
I asked the nurse for some advice while I was getting my legs bandaged - I'm developing somewhat tender lumps on my finger tips - not arthritic swelling of the joints. Been puzzling me for a while and new ones are developing all the time. As usual, she hadn't a clue but she went and found the senior partner in the Practice. He had a look and he thinks it's gout! He asked for a blood test to check it out. Gout! I didn't know you could get gout in your fingers. It's definitely not the red wine and cheese.

Lidl appear to have battery chargers for a tenner this week. Which are not, of course, jump starters, but could be very useful. We are thinking of getting one for the motor home.
 
Now I know why I had the surgical clinic appointment. The medical consultant had referred me for an endoscopy to check on my liver. Unfortunately, they won't be giving me any sedative when they do it because the drugs they use have a bad effect on the liver. That won't be until November though.
 
Morning all from what promises to be the first of a few sun shinny days here in L.A. 4.8 on the new Wonderwheel - 2 vague Oasis references there when I really don't like their music, champagne supernova excepted. @Mrs Redboots hug for feeling bloated. @Krystyna23040 you obviously had a hard preseason and are a bit leggy early season :D @Annb I hope leg day didn't leave you feeling too tired. A first world problem I know but I had a vehicle tax form yesterday as the car is soon a year old and Kia paid year one, well I know we really paid in "the deal" (it's an art) but .... Being a hybrid, the price means it is taxed as a luxury car. If the government want people to drive hybrid or Ev's that seems the wrong way round. The parsimonious side of me wonders if Kia will do me a deal on a new one to save the extra. The first (free) service is due soon so we'll see. Time for a rest now and enjoy time with Keto Granola, Organic Kefir and Assam. Those aren't my grandchildren's names but I did helpfully suggest:D

4.1 at 03.00 today. Had to get up (hip was insistent) but I was pretty grotty and fell asleep again once I got comfortable in the chair. Still didn't want to wake up at 09.00 - even now. Shan't be doing much today, although there's lots to do.

Reduced my basal dose to 45 this morning. Currently 4.9. No bolus dose required for breakfast.
 
Good morning all. Fbs was 8.7 today. Feeling somewhat achy today. May be the result of the extra long group walk yesterday! So I've treated myself to a lie -in after breakfast. My insulin pen needle refused to go into me despite 2 attempts this morning so I had to change it for another one! We are going on an early start coach trip soon so it's going to be interesting injecting my insulin on time if we are still travelling. LOL I'd better get on as I've got birthday gifts to wrap and deliver. Best wishes for today and the week-end. :)
 
Blood sugars this morning were 6.6 and 7.1 now.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, wishing to brag I had the best nights sleep I have had in a very loooooog time and am now ready four or for or fore my afternoon nap. Ah the joys of being retired or is you can take a nap whenever you want, or in my case when Mrs J allows!

Do you use a new needle every time you inject? You are supposed to. Sometimes though, there is a blockage in the needle and you can only really tell that there isn't when you squirt out a couple of units before injecting. Sometimes too, something under the skin can stop the needle going in - I have a small area on my abdomen which will bend the needle if I try to force it in. Also, these needles are very fine and bend easily and you may not see that it is a bit out of true. Any problems and it is always better just to replace the needle.

I'm glad you were able to sleep for so long in your chair. I woke up in the night with all my bones aching and aching, which isn't the first time that's happened lately! But when I'm up and about, I'm fine...

Thinking about it, the salt and pepper chips last night, while delicious, were extremely salty (the clue is in the name!), and I wonder if that's what made me bloat up....
 
Just dropped into a hypo. Had a glass of diluted pomegranate juice to bring it up a bit. That's scuppered taking the semaglutimide tablet for today. I'll have to reduce the basal insulin even further tomorrow to stop this happening. Or have a bigger breakfast, which is not the intention of taking these tablets.

Good afternoon@Annb. Yes I do use a new needle every time and I always squirt out 2 units before setting my dose, thanks. As you say there are sometimes little things that can cause the needle to bend or be blunt or sting more than usual.I am still learning. LOL I had a phone call from the Diabetes nurse this morning. She reckons I am now on the correct dose and is leaving me to my own judgement now- no further monitoring but I can call the service if I need advice. :)
 
My Libre reader has started giving me error messages and telling me if I get the message again, I should contact Customer Services. I assume that is Abbot. But then it goes back to working again. I still have 9 days to go on this sensor, so am not going to send it away while there's still life left in the sensor. It says 7.7 at the moment and I assume it's there or thereabouts.

The pomegranate juice really hurt my stomach and made me feel pretty sick, so I had a couple of ginger biscuits to settle that and make sure that BG rose. It did - to 7.9. Not going to take my pill today. Start again tomorrow with 43 u of the Tresibo. And I'll make sure to have a bigger breakfast.
