    Snowboarding

Hi - Heading back to the slopes for the first time since being on insulin in February. I'm relatively good and don't spend much time falling over. Just wondering if anyone has got any advice on how my sugars levels are likely to go and what changes to my insulin levels I'm likely to need to do...

    Worried!

Thanks @Circuspony and @enzina. Going to Mauritius for 10 days and then South Africa. Currently doing low carb and levels are about 8.5 in the morning and about 10 after a meal with minimal carbs. Not sure whether to ask the Dr for some gliclazide......not that I want to take that but just...

    Worried!

Hi - I am currently on the maximum dose of metformin and last Thursday the Consultant added sitagliptin to my daily diet. I explained that my levels were frequently 13 and he said really I should go on insulin but as I'm going on holiday on Friday for two weeks there was no time. I'm now really...

    Type 1.5 Never Feel Full!

Hi - No matter what I seem to eat I never feel full.......I don't feel hungry but never full. I currently eat about 50g of carbs a day. Just wondering if anyone else feels like this and if it's just from not eating a load of bread, rice, pasts etc. Thanks

    2 yrs in........

Went and had my appoinment today with the Consultant at the hospital. In 2 years since diagnosis I've seen 7 different Consultants. I haven't seen the same one twice so always a painful first 10 mins while they explain what diabetes is to me. Currently on 2 x 500mg metformin a day and no...

    The honeymoon is over

Hi @daithi-n. Sounds like I'm in a similar boat to you. Diagnosed Feb 2016 and just on metformin. Last few days fasting been up to 8.8. How did you manage to get on to Lantus? Was it your GP who prescribed it or did you have to go to hospital? Also how many units they started you on? I know a...

    Is this normal?

Thanks Pete @Pmerrill. Similar story with me. Last Hba was 48 even though I told the consultant i go up to 14 with some chips......she said I would too! Need to go back in February for another review but would prefer to start on insulin sooner rather than later if it meant was better for me...

    Is this normal?

Hi @Pmerrill - I notice you are now on basal insulin. How did things change? I'm nearly 2 yrs since diagnosis and still no insulin but feel harder to bring my levels down without an hour walk.

    LADA

Yes, that sounds about right. Keep on getting told if I start being sick over myself go to hospital. Always cheers me up! Try telling them that I'd like to not get to that point.

    LADA

Hi @Alexandra100. Yes, sounds similar to me. I think if you met me you'd probably think I look fine whereas my mum has known me when I've been heavier so thinks I look ill. When I saw my consultant last week she didn't even mention my weight until I said I'v lost another kilo.

    LADA

Yeah. Mum keeps on telling me I look gaunt though
