Thanks guys, spoke to GP receptionist and said I am not prepared to wait for Hospital Appointment and they are seeing me in the morning.

    Phantom Hypos

Hi, yes I am. My carb intake is extremely low, I would imagine the only real intakes of sugar and carbs is my 1 piece of wholemeal toast in the morning, and my banana in the afternoon. I suffer from leg cramps terribly so really try to eat a banana everyday. I don't take sugar in drinks, and the...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Thanks to the posters for the support. I feel fantastic about losing weight, and I know in the long run that lowering my weight will ultimately help. So I am going to continue to do so and let the professionals sort out my sugars. :)

    Phantom Hypos

It's been on an average of 17-19 pretty steady for the whole time I have been on the Bydureon injections, 7 weeks so far. It has spiked as high as 21 and has gone as low as 15. And was 16-ish when I felt unwell yesterday. Thanks for the info. Feel fab today.

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

17.9 this morning, spoke to diabetic nurse, she said it can wait until I am next in clinic, I don't have a date for that. Might just go back to my GP.

    Phantom Hypos

Hi there, currently on Bydureon once a week injections for uncontrolled Type 2. I used to take Gliclazide, and Pioglitazone, and I would occasionally get a hypo coming on. Nothing bad, I recognised the signs and dealt with it. The thing is, today in work I felt the exact feeling of a massive...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

18.9 this morning, carb free breakfast, 19.2 at the moment. Probably drop to 16-17 throughout the day. Pretty **** really. Feels like my beta cells are dying away. Nothing is working. Gliclazide used to work, now it doesn't, GLimerperide never worked even at 6mg. Bydureon week 6. No change...

    Bydureon (Week 5)

Thanks Tracieo and DIbbles was starting to feel a bit lonely. Just feeling fed up and down I think, will wait to see what happens. Tracieo, does insulin mean I can never eat any carbs again? I don't eat too many now, but I do like the odd spaghetti.

    Hemochromotosis

Hi, my dad, brother and sister have all been diagnosed with this, but I am the only one with actual symptoms but my GP said I didn't need the test as my Iron Levels are monitored with my regular diabetes blood testing. My dad's iron levels are high and he was referred first of all to a gastro...

    Bydureon (Week 5)

Well over 120 views on this post and not one comment, still I like talking to myself. The one day of low readings was a complete one off, I have had consistently high readings for the 6 weeks of Bydureon apart from that one morning. I am now fed up, it isn't working, it obviously isn't the...

    Bydureon (Week 5)

Well today is the first day I have noticed my reading have started to come down, so I guess I have answered my own question, just in case anyone else is wondering like me and hasn't been able to get the answers online, or any answers from anyone on here, my reading came down today, and i took my...

    Bydureon (Week 5)

Well I am getting much better at delivering the injections now. I can get all of the powder mixed really well, and it doesn't even hurt to give it now. Still not a single change in my readings though, sorry to bump a post, I have Googled this but how long is this supposed to take to work??

    Bydureon (Week 5)

Hi there, I was diagnosed type 2 just under 2 years ago now. I have been unable to take Metformin due to stomach issues, even the XR version. I was successfully given Gliclazide but it was a little too good and I was moved to Januvia. Nothing seemed to work, was given saxagliptin, then...

Struggling, could do with some advice.

You answers leave me confused. When I completely cut the carbs my readings were too high for no meds, then with the meds they were still high, only with the glic a glimeperide have they begun to come down. Now in single figures for the first time in weeks surely that is an improvement. I am...

Struggling, could do with some advice.

Sorry I did waffle a bit. My morning reading on the new medicines are between 9mmol and 13mmol mostly the latter, and afternoons 8mmol - 11 which I know if much much lower than 18-20 where they have been, can't remember the HbA1c it was confusing as I didn't really understand. As it worked out...

    What has spiked my feet???

Hi sorry I don't know much about neuropathy or your meds but carrot, peas and sweetcorn all raise your blood sugar quite quickly, maybe stick to other veg,

Wow Kev just read this threa xd for the first time, only read your post and the first page, but thanks for posting this. Sorry I really rambled on, there was a point, I just forgot. Why 2 hours after my hypo do I still feel strange and odd and similar although without the flush and sugars are now ok.

Struggling, could do with some advice.

Diagnosed type 2 18 months ago, initially given Metformin and Gliclazide as sugars approx 17mmol fasting. Decided to low carb, as I had done it before for health reasons, but mixed with Gliclazide ended up with a very low HbA1c so doc took me off the Glic. Taken off Metformin as it interfered...

    Gliclazide and Naproxen

Hi, can you help at all? I have recently had a bad viral cold/flu type infection which has left me with what the doctor termed as Acute Arthritis. He said it should improve as the virus leaves my system but he prescribed 500mg Naproxen for the pain, all of my finger joints are sore and swollen...
