    Compression?

The compression part of RICE is just to help promote clotting and to stem blood flow. It is short term and is for first aid purposes really. I very much doubt this needs to be avoided. Any possible complication is certainly not as bad as an uncontrolled bleed. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Difference between type 1 and 2

Simply it's that T1's don't produce enough insulin whilst T2's are insulin resistant but they still generally produce their own insulin. This is a simplistic answer. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Dosing question - basal or bolus...?

For those types I meal I would inject earlier, maybe 15-20mins prior to eating. This should help counteract the spike.

    Variation in test results

That's quite a big difference but meters are only a guide and have tolerances of 15-20% or so.

Fats and Carbs - interesting article.

Any extreme diet will receive criticism, not just Atkins. To completely exclude a food group will always be contentious and will never be fully accepted into the mainstream. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

Fats and Carbs - interesting article.

I've never been a fan of the term "high" in any diet. Most here agree that reducing intake of carbs certainly helps controlling BG levels. Web security

The information has always been there prior to the internet. Electoral registers, phone book etc. I have never had any issues sharing info with a little caution. Love internet banking, shopping on-line etc. Makes my life so much easier :-) Sent from the Diabetes Forum App
