HBA1C Result - not as good as I hoped …..

I was thinking of giving this a try. I sometimes do it occasionally at weekends. We are so used to having three meals a day, and told breakfast is the most important meal, when it actually isn’t. I was thinking of having a brunch around 11am them dinner at 6pm then nothing in between. I work...

HBA1C Result - not as good as I hoped …..

Thank you for your reply. I am seeing the positives that the number is coming down, I was a bit miffed the number wasn’t lower. I’m not sure if I have a dodgy glucose monitor as my readings are between 4-6 and HBA1C of 43 is equivalent of 7.1. The yoghurt is Greek natural full fat. I definitely...

HBA1C Result - not as good as I hoped …..

Thank you fir your reply. I do have a meter. In the morning, I am in the 6’s and then that goes down during the day to 5’s and 4’s. I think I need to exercise more and definitely get better sleep. Good luck to you too.

HBA1C Result - not as good as I hoped …..

I just thought it would be lower as I’ve been so strict the last three months. Maybe I had a too high expectation.

HBA1C Result - not as good as I hoped …..

Good evening, I was diagnosed in September 2021 Type 2 with HBA1C of 56. In November it was 48. I’ve just had results from last test and it’s only 43. I am devastated. I have worked so hard, I’ve lost 2.5 stone and my carb intake is often less than 35g, no more than 50 per day. I take no...

Type 2 Chinese meal, any advice…..

Any advice would be welcome…..I’m only 4 months in my journey, and still have loads to learn. We have a family meal at a Chinese restaurant on Saturday. Obviously, I won’t be having rice, noodles, sweet sauces, prawn crackers. Are there any dishes I should leave alone. I’m going to stick...

    Update on my Journey

You’re doing so well, huge congratulations. It is a massive change we have to make. I have everything crossed for you for your first review. I’m only four months into my journey so still learning loads. However, one bit of advice I would give you is to ignore your diabetic nurse and get a...

Fasting Blood Sugars, What's the Deal?

I was diagnosed Type 2 in September HBA1C 56. Eight weeks later it was 48. No meds, just very low carbs. My morning readings are 6.5 - 7.5, mostly in the 7’s. During the day I go down to in the 5’s. It’s currently 7.2 (2 hours after eating). My next HBA1C blood text will be end of Feb time...

Just what i didnt want for Xmas.

Hope you feel better soon. I had Covid right at the beginning, end of March 2020. I had 5 days where every joint ached (like the worst flu but without the cold). Everything hurt from my eyes to the soles of my feet. Weirdly, my cough wasn’t that bad (maybe your back is aching due to the...

    Help! High morning blood sugars

I was diagnosed in September, I’m not on medication. My HBA1C was 56. Eight weeks later it was 48. I cannot get my morning reading below 7 for 95% of the time. During the day it goes down in the 5’s. I’m not unduly worried at the moment, I’ll see what my HBA1C is next time. I’m putting it down...

I’ve lost almost 2 stone. However, I still have plenty of insulation to shift.

    Feeling the chill….

I was diagnosed in September HBA1C of 56, 8 weeks later HBA1C of 48. No meds, just extremely low carb, so going in the right direction. However, the last few weeks I have really felt the cold (previously, I never felt the cold and was always warm). Does anybody else on low carb feel the...

    Worried and scared diagnosed type2

Please do not despair, we have all been there. My HBA1C was 56, two months later 48. Since September I’ve lost almost two stone. I’ve pretty much gone against all advice I was given at the Doctors. I have got all the good information from these forums. I’m doing mega low carb. I’ve cut out...

To Gin or not to gin….

Thanks for the great advice on the flavoured gins and soda water. I’ve already poured the FeverTree light i had down the sink and bought a cheaper tonic. There are a couple of plain gins I like, so all is not lost. I’m not planning on drinking it every week, but occasionally only a G&T will do.
