Hey y'all,
I'm injecting Victosa & Lantus. Seems to be working quite well. I've found that splitting it (morning and evening) works really well.
BUT - some mornings I'm waking with LOW BG (3.8/4.0mmol/L). So my question is - should I still be dosing up with Victosa & Lantus when I wake?

Hi all,
I have recently moved from the UK to Costa Rica for a job for 2 years and I am struggling a little with my diabetic control. In the UK I was well controlled, minimal hypos and an HbA1c of 6.5 (when I left in June 2016). I have been Type 1 diabetic for 25 years, since I was 2 years old...
Ok, so I have been on Lantus and Humalog for some time now, possibly coming up to 5 years. Even though it was much better than my previous insulin regime (mixtard or whatever it is called now), I was having constant lows and highs at specific times of the day despite sussing out my carb counting...
Hi everyone,
I have completed 3 days of basal testing and am definately not happy with the results!
Day 1 - last meal 5pm with NovoRapid insulin 6 units.

BGL 3am 7.4
BGL 7am 5.4
BGL 9am 12.2
BGL 11am 23.4
I then gave up my fasting test...
I know that there have been a lot of posts on basal insulin.
I am a bit overwhelmed with the giant information posted by people and having difficulties sorting out which is which.
I am very new to diabetes. Puzzled here and there many times, but working on it.
Since I last diagnosed 3 weeks ago...

I was diagnosed diabetes 3 years back, initially i was on tablet but that couldn't control m sugar levels and i started losing weight as well. Hence, i was put on lantus injection. I take 24 points in morning with one tablet of metformin and 18 point at night before dinner with no metformin at...
Since I fitted the freestyle libra the information I gained has changed my view of diabetes. I am now able to tightly control my highs and lows before they bite. This means taking small corrections when my levels rise or the odd fast acting carb as my sugar starts to dive.
My biggest change is...
Does anyone have experience of taking a short course of steroid tablets (prednisolone) for asthma while on long-acting insulin (Lantus) ? I've been warned my blood sugars will rocket, and I will be testing frequently and expect to have to adjust my insulin, but any tips will be welcome.
