Not happy that Wenger spoke out about the fans. The board has obviously realised that people aren't filling seats, season tickets won't be renewed, money spent at the game will be less and Wenger staying will cost them money. So he was asked to leave. The fans have a right not to pay for matches they don't enjoy, it's all about profits Arsene, the team weren't playing at their best for you. The team hasn't even competed at any away league fixtures this year and most players showed no sign that they cared. That's not the fault of the fans. That's the fault of the manager. Good as he was, he just wasn't doing it anymore. The board made the decision, not the fans.
Despite his obvious decline in league status, and the lack of European champion's league qualification in the past couple of seasons. He would be still recognised as a top coach. His legacy is the assumption of continuous success of being one of the top clubs in England, Europe and the support of thousands of followers around the world. His twenty years has been phenomenal to most clubs.
However, you cannot live on previous glory, his team's have been outsmarted by younger, cleverer coaches, he has had his time, it is overdue for someone to take the reins and try and get the Gooners back in contention for the premiership.
It reminds me so much of Liverpoo. The constant dissatisfaction with not winning the premiership, living on past glory, trying to find the right coach and of course pleasing the fans, and more importantly the board. The emergence of spurs competing for the champions league, is just too much for most fans!
The reality check is wether the new coach is prominent enough to please supporters, never mind having success. Will he be given the time to develop his own arsenal style and development? Can be do better than Arsene?
It would seem to everyone outside arsenal, that the board have a loyalty to the manager, not witnessed by most other clubs. Will only instant success be necessary for whoever replaces him to keep his job?
Will his style of football, be conducive to the Gooners?
Fat Sam has gotten Everton out of trouble but there is an underlying problem because of his style of football.
The new manager will probably have to be a magician or a miracle worker, because he would have to be to please some fans.
I will now predict, a few seasons of inner turmoil, especially if Wenger is still behind the scenes at the Emirates. They could in fact implode, as other clubs have done due to similar situations.
Man u. Have struggled since sir Alex Ferguson has left.
Can't see arsenal getting the necessary quality in their squad to compete against the two manc clubs, Chelsea, Liverpoo and of course Spurs!
Interesting times indeed
