2017/2018 Football Season

@Lamont D It's at times like these that I revert to being a Leeds fan lol.
That is like going out of the frying pan into the fire!

They should be able to compete for the championship next season, if they sign a couple of quality signings!

Better times ahead for utd fans.
If they would lower prices, they would fill Elland Road every home game!

Still cross with what Wenger said about the fans lol. We were all embarrassed and humiliated when the opposition fans sang 'we want you to stay, Arsene Wenger we want you to stay' He should have taken the hint a couple of seasons ago when that chant started. And how much longer would he have stayed anyway? He is an old man now, he had to go sometime. (sorry folks I'll get over it eventually, rant over for now)

Poor old Leeds haven't done well this season. They started off well like we did but then it all went pear shaped :D But at least they aren't staring relegation in the face like we are :D

Not really mate, having secured second place, the manager decided to play our second eleven, including a few youth players.
Interesting night but result expected.
Players getting deserved rest.
Second season finishing second!
Still not assured of promotion!

Gonna be interesting for the terriers mate!

Ah right well he did right then.

Yeah it certainly is going to be a very interesting run in. Tensions are mounting for certain. We could do with a point in the Everton game on Saturday. We have the Home advantage. Will be hoping the Saints and Stoke both lose though I hate saying that @jay hay-char there again we could both stay up and send Stoke and Swansea down that's even better :D

On a happier note my beloved late wife's team Blackburn Rovers got promoted back to the Championship last night. They got relegated last season when we got promoted. Hopefully we will stay up for another season.

An American billionaire has launched an audacious bid worth more than £500 million to buy Wembley Stadium from the Football Association, the Evening Standard has learned.

Car parts tycoon Shahid Khan - owner of Fulham FC and the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team - is understood to have struck an outline agreement with FA boss Martin Glenn to transfer the “home of English football” to foreign ownership for the first time.

The extraordinary proposal, which will send shockwaves through the sport, was being put before the full board of the domestic game’s governing body today.
If the takeover gets the go ahead more American football games are likely to be played at Wembley and it could even pave the way for an NFL franchise to be permanently based in London.

A sale is also likely to result in fewer England internationals being hosted at the 92,000 capacity north London venue - particularly during the NFL season in the Autumn. However, it would not threaten Wembley’s status as the England team’s home for all major fixtures.

Hmmmm not sure what to think of this. Do we really want the Yanks playing their American football and our tournaments like Play off finals and cup finals having to be played elsewhere. Hope the FA tell him where to get off in some ways.

Hmm. Although the FA own Wembley Stadium, there's a sense in which they hold it in trust for the nation. For that reason alone, I really don't think it's right for them to sell it off, however attractive the price they've been offered may be.

An organisation that knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing, so to speak. Grrrrrrr.............:mad::mad:

Don't get your argument mate!
Since Thatcher, the country's assets have been sold to the yanks as a norm!
The latest version of these sell offs, is to be sold to the highest bidder!

The FA is not for football or the thousands that use to play in the parks.
It is for its own self interest first, then big business, then the premiership, then no one else!

The NFL are determined to have a European franchise in their league!
One small step in the globalization of grid iron!
Next will be a team in either Asia or Africa, then maybe south America and so on.

The London Lions! (Maybe!)

All the best to him. Hope he goes to a good club and has a good career there :)

Meanwhile Wagner has been scotching rumours of him being linked to Chelsea. He says he wont enter talks with anyone without having first discussed it with Dean Hoyle and the club. He sure sounds committed to us but I still think given half a chance he'd be off somewhere else especially if we were to be unlucky enough to go down. Otherwise he's no reason to leave us if we stay up.

Last league game v monkey hangars.
The **** end of the season is now getting exciting, will find out by the time the rest of you kick off, who we could be playing in the playoffs.

Wish everyone good luck this weekend!

Which is it?
Has he been poached?
Or
Has the club got someone else already to fill the position?

Must be either because this is the way they do things!
