Hi all, I wanted to come back and share an update as I just this morning received my 3 month repeat hbA1c results

Just a brief summary so far - I am 42f, was tested in July on the advice of a podiatrist because I had a toe wound that wasn't healing. I had no other symptoms and my BMI was 23. My hbA1c came back as 107, a huge shock.
I was started on Metformin immediately and I worked really hard to reduce my carb intake. I was prescribed Glicazide but agreed with my DNS to try Metformin and diet first. Since then I have continued to work hard on this, using finger prick testing and a couple of months of CGMs (self funded) to really learn about my trends etc. I could see my numbers were coming down so did not take the Glicazide.
I spoke to my DNS last week before my repeat bloods and she said anything below 60 would be great progress at this stage, she said the target long term would be under 48 but the lower the better obviously.
I had my repeat bloods last thing on Friday and after being so anxious all weekend I finally received the results just now - 47!!!!!
I know that I will want to bring them down further in the long term but to go from 107-47 in this time is a huge relief for me. Considering this result covers the past 3 months when my levels would have been really high at the start.
Anyway, just wanted to share. I know I have to continue my hard work and my journey is just starting, but it feels really good to get this news after 3 months of this all.
Thanks also to this forum, it is so helpful.
