Have you looked into coverage under the new Canadian Dental Care Plan? According to the website dentures are one of the 100% covered procedures if your income is less than $75,000 per year. If income is more than that then they cover a percentage.
I hope you are able to get some help with these problems.
My income support has a very basic dental plan. It doesnt allow 2 plans.

Today I reached my end.
I could see it getting closer and did all I could.
So I just live my life.
Thanks everyone for trying to help.
I might come back with an update another time.

What do you mean, @cdpm?
“Reached your end”?

That is upsetting to read, so I gather you are in distress.

Gave up trying for better bg numbers. I don't have the funds for the diet required to obtain better bg numbers. And knowing this and feeling this powerlessness is causing anxiety. I don't get anxiety. I'm not really an anxious person. So when my stomach is twirling with anxiety everytime I eat something because I know it's bad for my numbers it's time to stop trying. And I know foods cause my bs to rise. Even ones 'that wont'. Such as cauliflower, and cottage cheese and artificial sweeteners. Plus it's nearly impossible juggling the food around 0 teeth. And yes I found help for false teeth but it still requires 2 thirds of the cost that I need to pay. Plus atrociously high insulin doses have had no effect. Causing bad dangerous (for me) side effects.
So I'm just eating what I want.
Maybe I will actually be able to have more food this way.

Well I'm very near my edge with the high bg and insulin caused hunger and weight gain and leg pain and leg/foot cramps.
So if I must continue on insulin and keep increasing to reach the goal, I will have to take other measures.
I must be able to dress myself, and get up my stairs, and bathe myself.
I have asked for medical help, medical supports. They are non existent or have very little time in the appointments.
So to address my leg issues I have no ideas for the pain but for the stairs maybe do a few minutes a day to a few fav. songs marching on the spot. With only the expectation of keeping my legs moving.
To address the ravenous hunger I have 1 idea to increase protein somehow.
To address the weight gain I can only come up with eating 500 calories a day.
To address the high bg that isn't responding to the insulin all I can think of is requesting metformin.
It has bothered me extremely in the past (runs) but I'm mostly housebound from the same issue (runs) from nearly every food I eat so how much worse can it be? But maybe help me?
Did i miss any?
Today I call the dr- He's a phone endo. Dr I have-- to request metformin.
I will try to remember to come back to post what happens with that.
Update on measures I'm taking.
The metformin request. I did request it and I'm to take 2 tablets 2 x a day.(2000mg total) Imagine my difficulty pulling that off eating only once a day! The drug store said a glass of milk (disgusting) can be taken with the 2 morning tablets. So since I don't drink milk I figure that a cup of 2 percent goes about 120 calories so I just need a drink equal to that. Not being juices.
But since I'm going slowly and am now at 2 a night I have a bit of time to figure something out then go slow to get to the both morning pills. It can't have many calories as they get deducted off my 1 meal calories.
And I don't hope for them to help my bg. I already gave up on that. My hope is less hunger.

Any ideas on what to take the morning ones with?

I don't understand why my body doesn't respond to insulin. I'm so exhausted with increasing the basal insulin. I'm instructed that I can keep increasing to 4 to 7 fasting when I get up.
I just feel so discusted with so much insulin. It seems so gross all that going in. I'm at 120 no response. I'm just going to leave it at that. Even out of range.
I've never in 10 years responded to glargine. Even when I took 160 units back near the start.
And I'm unable to take the mealtime insulin as I get bad side effects.
I already have to try to deal with the basal insulin side effects.
Which are dangerous for me in a shower or going down the stairs.
It's just useless.
Why doesn't my body respond?
I might tell my endo dr next appt. (Nov) that I don't want to continue on insulin. Just stay on the Ozempic and metformin.
At least they do other things even if not help bs.
I'm so tired.

I've traced my extreme hunger back to before 2006. That's many years ago. So now that I've done that I'm not so concerned about it. And it's not all from the small amount of food I can afford. Because up until covid time ( a few years ago)I had lots of food.
So it doesn't matter now. I'm ok with it.

But it's distressing not having any control over your health conditions. Especially when you are told such and such will help.

For example I currently take 11(8 different meds.) pills a day and 2 or 3 injections a day and 1 injection weekly.

Not 1 puts me in any target range.

Well cant do it anymore. The many Many many meds. My legs just hurt too much to get up and down my stairs. And everyone has to use a bathroom! Even if they don't have digestive issues.
So the ones I know for a definite fact without any doubt that hurt my legs are toujeo (insulin) and ezetimibe (cholesterol med.).
Now if these 2 meds helped bring my numbers anywhere near the range maybe I would think differently but I've used them long enuf to give them a very good chance to work.

A few yes. We all have that choice.
I'm taking 12 medications. 4 diabetes ones, 3 BP ones, 1 cholesterol one, 1 polyp spray one, 2 pain pills, 1 antidepressant one.
So I'd be cutting out 1 diabetes one and the cholesterol one.
Toujeo and ezetimibe.
None of them change my numbers so I don't understand why I'd continue with only side effects that greatly affect a basic life function.
Gotta get up and down those 13 stairs! Or keep a pail nearby beside me !

Your choice, true. We all have that option, and all have to accept the consequences of the choices we make. I hope this turns out to be an acceptable choice for you.Thoughnot one I would recommend.

Well since none of my meds change any of my numbers I'm not sure what consequences I'd face from discontinuing them.

I'm not recommending stopping any of your meds @cdpm but if you make that choice, and stop these 2 medications at the same time, and feel better or worse, how will you know which medication has made the difference?
