I'm not recommending stopping any of your meds @cdpm but if you make that choice, and stop these 2 medications at the same time, and feel better or worse, how will you know which medication has made the difference?
You are right. I didn't even think of that.

Just eating peppermint lifesavers candy and butterscotch candy all day.
A few nds if I get thirsty.
I tried all i could. I'm just tired.
No meal or med failed promises anymore anyway.
Just me, my candy and my bike.

I got to thinking about things I've read along my 10 plus year diabetes journey. About amputation and how your essentially rotting away inside. How the meds and insulin aren't doing anything with your glucose but only moving it around in the body. That makes me see how complications can happen anyway no matter how we try.
Or don't try.
And how glucose only goes away either by fasting or not consuming it.
And tried to think of how can I still fast 23 hours and eat twice so I've eaten with both insulin doses (if I were to reconsider my decision of stopping it). I really hate the idea that it causes having to eat twice. And doesn't seem to allow my fasting.

And I've finally thought of a way.
Pretty long it took me but maybe other things needed to happen while I came up with the idea. Who knows.

So get up in the am. Inject first dose at 9am. Drink some food at 930 until 10am if needed. Fast til 530 taking the 2nd injection at 5pm. Eat from 530 to 6 pm if needed that long. Fast again from 6pm til the 930am. I think that's equal to fasting 23 hours. It's just split up to accommodate 2 injections.
Have I figured this out correctly?

No you’re NOT fasting 23hrs you eat at 9.30 am and fast until 5.30pm when you eat again - that’s a 7 hr fast, then fasting again from 6pm to 9.30 am when you eat again that’s a 15.5 hour fast,

yes those 2 fast of 7 & 15.5 add up to 22.5 of fasting but the eating in between breaks the fast at 7 hrs so your fast starts again

If you want to fast for 23hrs it would be easier to fast for 24hrs and eat once a day at the same time e.g.) every day at 9.30 am OR every day at 6.30pm

Hi @cdpm, I can’t help with suggestions on fasting or insulin, however if your new schedule whatever it might be called, works for you, then well done.

Feeling that it's pretty hopeless.
I've tried several meds and different insulins and fasting and exercise and low carb and keto and losing weight and less calories.
And it still is my fault. I'm doing something wrong.

Havnt even been shopping. I get too distressed to have to walk past foods I know are better for me. My family has been kind enough to shop for me.
And when I eat bad foods I feel angry and sometimes even sick.
And now everything tastes awful.
I'm not sure if that's a med side effect or a food concern thing.

Things like raspberry and cauliflower. Too hard to see and have to choose potato chips because they will last 4 days because you can get 2 bags for less than 3 bucks. But cauliflower and raspberries are more than that unless you buy a rotten one for nearly 4 bucks.
Raspberries sometimes on a sale for 2.97.
So calorically the chips offer more. And financially.
I mean I'm not asking for the world or a million dollars.
Just healthy foods for my health conditions.
But then I do hear about or read about people eating way less than I do so I should not wish for more or better foods.

I know you've said food banks don't have a lot of the foods you really need, and you can't get there yourself. Would your family be able to take you or go for you, so you at least have more food/ choice of food to supplement the small amount you can buy. For instance if you got potatoes from the food bank, you may be able to get fruit or protein at the shop.
