all is not well

I am now stressing about my covid booster tomorrow. I am scared of the side effects, especially the nausea and vomiting.
Do think of it as a positive!
With anxiety you think things will always be worse than it actually is.
You don't want the new strain of covid going around, I take it you have had your flu jab, and you don't want that either! So as a precaution to not getting much more worser symptoms than them, get the covid jab and have a nice cuppa or something stronger, and tell yourself, what was all the fuss all about?

You have already gone through a lot, making it worse by not getting it, is illogical, Mr Spock!

my thoughts and players are with you as always @lucylocket61.

I haven't had the flu jab yet either. My GP said not to have it until I was well again. I will have it about two weeks after the covid one, as that was considered to be more important.

Lucy, my suggestion would be that you load up with VitC and Zinc, and make sure you are keeping your Vit D decent too.

I know you have SO much on your plate, but sometimes it is good to just do something we feel could make a contribution to the positive.

This may or not be relevant, but after I was in ICU (most of it in a coma) for 6 weeks I had no appetite at all afterwards. I did get hungry but as soon as I smelt food I just couldn't eat it. Maybe 1 or 2 mouthfuls. I, too, was living on just milk essentially. The doctor gave me a tablet to have 30 minutes before meals. I have no idea what the tablet was or how it worked but I could eat again. The tablet was short-term only and the Dr told me that when prescribing. But it got me back to eating. Is this something worthwhile asking about?

Just found this thread.
You have been through the wars.
I hope you can continue to build up your strength for the next stage of your treatment.
Don't worry about the carbs.
Eat absolutely anything you fancy.
You can always go back on the wagon when you are well.
I hope that there are some sinful things that can tempt you to indulge a bit.
Cheering for you.

I've also just spotted this thread -which I missed as I had several months away from the forum at end of last year mainly due to impact on my health of caring issues and also losing my mum. I found it hard to post when in a darker place but looking back I think it would have helped talking more to the lovely guys on this forum so
@lucylocket61 just wanted to add my hugs and best wishes for your health issues. Hoping the booster went well and that you are being kind to yourself. Hope you can reach out to friends on here.

I am on anti-nausea meds now. I still have an issue with textures, and a very small to non existent appetite. Apparently it's due to my kidney tumour and raised blood calcium levels. I will be discussing this with the urologist next week.

Also, over November I had three courses of strong antibiotics, and another lot in December, and spent a couple of weeks dealing with the resultant lingering thrush so my digestion has taken a hammering. I am taking probiotics daily now.

The covid vaccination has only given me a sore arm and feeling a bit shaky and cold. So that's ok.

I think my anxiety levels are so high generally that the slightest thing feels like too much.

Thank you for all your support. It really does help.

Hugs for your difficult time.

I always demand and expect far more from myself than I do of others.

Thanks for the reminder. I will try to remember and be kind to myself x

I think that what we, on the other side of the fence always forget is that we tell you to relax, not to worry too much, and be kind to yourself, without remembering that those are very easy words to say, but so, so much harder to live.

One day at a time and all that.

It's a week before my urology appointment and I am falling apart mentally. I need to keep strong for the appointment and to rest and eat. I keep crying and going shaky. It's not due to blood sugar levels, they are reasonably ok. I don't know what set this off. Vibes welcome.

Lucy have you spoke with your GP bout your anxiety levels? I wonder if there is anything he/she could offer you on a temporary basis.

Have you reached out to MacMillan at all?

With everything that you are going through honey its not surprising you are feeling the way you are. Stress will manifest itself in all manner of things and being shaky is just one of them to add to the long list. Don't feel afraid to keep crying, you emotions are 100 fold at the moment with everything else that is going on. All I can offer is my hugs and you will get through this and come through the other side, stronger both mentally and physically xxxxxxxxxxxx

You’ve had a long wait so it’s understandable you’re feeling anxious. Hopefully you’ll get some clarity at the appointment. Sending lots of positive thoughts.
