Well done on your readings. You will find that the headache will go and you may be losing weight, my work colleagues noticed before I did. If you can organise yourself to prepare a packed lunch the night before, throw in the fridge and grab in the morning it helps. I do mine while the kettle is boiling or when I have put the meat on to cook.

Yes started doing a pack lunch in the evenings. Today consists of 2 hard boiled eggs, bit of cheese, slice of quiche and some cashew nuts. God I miss crisps!! Lol

Well done, that is a good path to take. A word of warning though - the quiche crust will be carb-heavy! I'm not a quiche lover myself, but people on here make crustless ones, and cashews can be carby so don't eat too many. Almonds, brazils and roasted peanuts have less carbs.

Walnuts and pecans are even lower and very nutritious. Lidl sell them at a reasonable price but not as cheap as peanuts.

Macadamias are my go to nuts.

Something about peanuts raises me disproportionally to the carb count. Not to mention I can't stop eating them!! And not because I love them, just a physical reaction. I get that with almonds too. Other nuts are fine for me.

Same here - peanuts are legumes and all peas and beans seem to punch above their weight when it comes to their carb count.

over selling.... oh so many things are enthusiastically oversold
Lidls almonds for cake making cost less than the almonds to snack on ? They taste the same to me although packed differently.

A handful of leaves from a pack of mixed salad leaves, coleslaw, tomato and cucumber then protein of some sort - cheese, smoked mackerel, chicken breast, slices of gammon cooked in orange juice, peppered salami slices, tuna with a dressing of yoghurt mixed with whole grain mustard or horseradish kept in the fridge in a screw top jar. There is nothing boring about my diet, plenty of experiments but all quick and easy. I make my own yoghurts for breakfast to which I add a few seasonal berries. I have just discovered a local Lidl with olives, rolls etc

Thanks everyone for the ideas. As I leave the house at 6.15 every morning I need to work out what's going to work. We have a cafe at work that does boiled eggs and bacon in the mornings but I don't want to be spending £5 everyday in there. I like the idea of a crust less veggie quiche or natural yoghurt. Are muller ones with the fruit corner ok or do I need to stay clear of those?
Best yoghurt to go for is Greek yoghurt, you can have fat free or normal and add some berries-yummy. Muller Fruit corner yogs are not good-quite high in sugar content x
