Hi Winter94,
Welcome to the forum..

Though those BG levels are low. This is not the symptom of Diabetes. just the effects of certain medication to treat the condition.

Are you diagnosed as Diabetic?? If so what meds are prescribed?

@Jaylee unfortunately I'm living with this and have never been diagnosed or had my blood sugars checked I suffer with this symptoms daily

OK. So you maybe suffering from possible reactive hypoglycemia? (I'm not a doctor.)
However, In that case i can tag in @Lamont D & @Brunneria with experience of such a condition.

@ickihun hi thanks for your reply and just that I was suffering with hypoglycaemia but they didn't give me an answer to why they said I must go back in a couple off days for more tests and if I feel like it again to have sugar and go down back down the hospital

I'm sure they will test for all possibilities. Keep us updated.
RH isn't diabetes but the posters here know their stuff so it would be wise to listen to their advice. Asking for specific tests when you go back too.
Have a look at the subsection on the forum and see if anything which is familiar?

It is easy to think hypos are diabetic related thou. Let's see.
Sounds like you're now in good hands.
I hope you get the help you need.... and quickly.
Are you carrying a sugary something around?

What happens when you eat a sugary food to help with your lows?

@ickihun whwn I eat certain foods about an hour or so after or some times straight away I get what feels like a panick attack but daily my moods and motivation go from really low then to on tjen to low again I mean I get the symptoms really bad after even consuming a little bit off alcohol I'm surprised they have never done my sugar levels up until yesteday it was very scary I was not in reality it felt like I heard there are the glucose tablets yoh can buy that you chew ? So I might get myself some off them

Welcome to the forum. Alcohol has a surprising effect on blood glucose. This is from Medical News Today:

"Alcohol consumption can lead to dangerously low blood sugar. This is because the liver has to work to remove the alcohol from the blood instead of managing blood sugar levels, and because alcohol can lead to situational unawareness of low blood sugar."

And from Drink Aware:

Alcohol also affects blood sugar levels each time it’s consumed, which means occasional drinkers can also be negatively impacted. Alcohol consumption causes an increase in insulin secretion, which leads to low blood sugar (otherwise known as hypoglycaemia). This causes light headedness and fatigue, and is also responsible for a host of longer-term health conditions.

I'm not a doctor, but have had the low blood sugar effects of drinking alcohol, one of the reasons I stopped.

Hi @Winter94, I agree with @Resurgam, 6 vodkas is quite excessive. ( If they were standard amounts of vodka, 2 'shots' would be the recommended maximum for you per 24 hours and even then taken close together could put you over the limit for driving for a while.). This and the following is not n medical advice or opinion, from my reading and experience of hypoglycaemia as as Type 1 diabetic.
And did you know that if anyone's blood sugar goes low for any reason that alcohol stops the liver from correcting the situation? Usually the liver releases stored glucose to correct low blood sugar. Our brains get very tetchy when the blood glucose gets below about 3.6 mmol/l. Glucose (the sugar in blood) is the brain's usual fuel. So if someone drinks alcohol and perhaps has nothing to eat for hours, the blood sugar drops and there is no easy mechanism to correct it beyond stuffing oneself with glucose (if you are with it enough to swallow and someone knows that is what you need, or having a glucose drip.
Perhaps you do need to see a alcohol counsellor. If you are drinking alcohol to cope, or for whatever reason, consider the consequences - is it worth it? You may need to change your friends too, those who are big drinkers and encourage such behaviour.
How much do you value your own brain ? Alcohol and low BSLs will damage it ++!!
Some persons suffer with low blood sugar aside from being due to diabetes treatment. See Reactive Hypoglycaemia thread/forum and the experienced persons mentioned above( @Brunneria and @Lamont D ). (hypoglycaemia = low glucose or 'sugar' in the blood)
The test that is mentioned to see whether low blood sugar is a possible cause of various symptoms related to food etc is variously called an extended, prolonged fasting OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test). A doctor orders it, you try to eat well for 3 days or so and then, after fasting overnight, you attend the blood test (vampire !!) centre. )Just kidding )!!! You have a blood test, then drink some glucose solution and have blood tests hourly or sometimes 1/2 hourly for 4 hours or more (3/12/ ? as minimum). ( may be take a good book to read !!.
This test in a shorter version of 2 hours can be used to test for diabetes, the longer one is about what your BSLs do over longer. t
Bestest Wishes for you to find out what is happening to you.
remember, alcohol is a toxin, made by bugs(yeasts) to keep other bugs off their territory. We drink it at our peril.

Winter, when you say when you eat "certain foods" you experience these symptoms, what are those foods and could you simply avoid them for a while and see if that helps how you feel? In some people a food intolerance can really hit hard, with all sorts of symptoms.

Hi and welcome @Winter94

Don't worry, I won't be nagging you about alcohol consumption. I don't know of a 23 year old who reacts well to that - or who actually lets on how much they really drink. ;)

However, I will say that hypoglycaemia and alcohol are a BAD combination. The lower the hypo and the more numerous the drinks, the worse it gets. Same for quite a few recreational drugs, if you are into those too.

Since you have appointments for further investigations into your hypos, I think it is far to early to talk about Reactive Hypoglycaemia. There are other things (including food intolerances and various health conditions) which can cause hypos or anxiety, or both, after certain foods. So I suggest that you see what your doctors say about the tests.

If you are interested in finding out more about RH then Wikipedia has a good intro on the subject, and there is an RH section here on the forum, where lots of us control the RH mainly by diet. But I wouldn't want to suggest that you have RH until your docs have done some proper investigations and eliminated a few other possibilities first.

Hope you are feeling better though - and I hope the medical investigations go well and give you a clear diagnosis.
Just don't give up. If they try and brush you off by blaming anxiety, then keep pushing. You deserve better than to be fobbed off like that.

I am rather concerned at the amount of alcohol you are drinking - six vodkas is several times the daily recommended amount for a woman.
Hi it was a sociable night out I don't normally drink I know it sounds a lot I'm only 23 it was a night out I felt fine till the next morning they were only small amounts in a small cup
