I read that if u have a lot of fat around waist it means u have a lot of fat in your Arteries but i am about 40+ inches around my waist and i haven't got cholestrol!!!

I hope you have got at least some cholesterol or you'd be dead!I read that if u have a lot of fat around waist it means u have a lot of fat in your Arteries but i am about 40+ inches around my waist and i haven't got cholestrol!!!![]()
my waist is much bigger than that, and i have good cholesterol levels.I read that if u have a lot of fat around waist it means u have a lot of fat in your Arteries but i am about 40+ inches around my waist and i haven't got cholestrol!!!![]()
I'm talking about bad cholestrolI hope you have got at least some cholesterol or you'd be dead!
If you didn't have any of that you'd still be dead.... there is no "bad" cholesterol it's all essential for life.I'm talking about bad cholestrol
There is bad and good LDL and HDLIf you didn't have any of that you'd still be dead.... there is no "bad" cholesterol it's all essential for life.

I'm not even convinced that is correct.. if cholesterol is the repair mechanism for inter arterial wall problems then far from "clogging" the arteries it may be preventing ruptures. To stop cholesterol accumulating and clogging arteries
The mechanism is no doubt much more complex than just clogging, which is why I said "very basically".I'm not even convinced that is correct.. if cholesterol is the repair mechanism for inter arterial wall problems then far from "clogging" the arteries it may be preventing ruptures.
Indeed and the "clogging" could well be a complete misnomer hence my introducing an alternative view. The mechanism is no doubt much more complex than just clogging, which is why I said "very basically".
You have lost me with that analogy. The arterial clogging argument is rather like stopping ambulances leaving their garages because every time you see a traffic accident there is an ambulance or two in attendance - obviously they must be the reason for them.
It is the same with fire engines - find out where they go rushing off to and you'll find a fire (shades of Fahrenheit 451)
the wrong cause and effect is being drawn with cholesterol (of any types) and clogged arteries. You have lost me with that analogy.
