Hi All,
1st time I have posted here. I am T2 diabetic and weigh 160kg. I also am post rai Graves Disease and have Thrombophilia, Atrial Fibrillation and possible fibromyalgia. I am not taking any meds for the diabetes. So I have been Keto for 8 weeks and feel much better; the pain is a lot less and I have more energy so am moving around a lot better. Not losing weight but that's ok for now as I am sure that will come eventually and my goals here are to feel better and improve the numbers. My blood ketones range between .9 and 2.5 depending on what I have eaten and when I check it. However, my blood sugar readings are higher than I expected. Before starting Keto, fasting was averaging 7.5. But now, fasting is consistently 8.5 - 9 and doesn't seem to come down as much during the day. The curve is flatter but it's way higher than I expected. I have not had any labs done recently so maybe that might show something different. Don't know what to think. Don't want to give up as I feel so much better. Is it possible that my blood insulin is lower due to the diet and the sugar will come down eventually? Anyway, any advice or encouragement is welcome
Thanks
