It certainly is Milly, hopefully we can spur each other on. It has hit me this last couple of days that I am in this for the long haul and nobody can do it for me. After all these years, it's taken being frightened I was going to die to make me realise that unless I change my life, that could possibly happen sooner than I want it to. Scary.
Its quite bitter, prefer the lindt 75% nom nom nomGreem & Black chocolate must be an aquired taste :***:
And the good news is....most of the symptoms your experiencing can and will be reversed, providing you stick to lchf regime, thats good news don't you think:Me, I didn't think my diet was too bad being a veggie. But ok, I eat too much cheese, plus crisps etc etc.
Sister was type 2, died of cancer almost 2 years ago. Yes she had had eye problem due to the diabetics.
But I wasn't as bad as her. So why should I bother! ?
I am 64, why bother. More interested in getting ride of the arthritis that keeps me awake. Deppression been fighting that one for years.
So why am I bothering now, well my left foot burns like mad at night, toes on right foot a little numb.

Hello scottie1, you sound very frightened, and scared about the hospital, you don't need to be frightened, they want to get you well and back home after giving you the best treatment possible.I am type 2.
Last saw my GP over a week ago as felt dizzy etc and he didn't mention anything about my blood.
It was only when I noticed that my eyesight was affected that I started testing my own blood, it's normally well controlled.
I called the GP and the GP called me back and mentioned insulin but said he would wait and see what my blood test results showed.
I had the blood tests yesterday and the nurse said I should have the results today as it was urgent. The results are not back yet and I am, again, waiting for the GP to ring back (since 1pm).
I passed out last night with only my children here (my husband works nights) so am worried about tonight. I feel like there is no ground beneath me.
Thank you all so much for replying.

Hi feduppricky, welcome to the forum, how long have you been seeing readings like that?HI IM REALLY WORRIED MY READING TODAY IS 22MMOL, HAVE BEEN TO DOCTORS HAVING BLOOD TESTS MONDY?
Yes, but it's worth acquiring it!Greem & Black chocolate must be an aquired taste :***:
Hi. You can insist on Reception giving you the results even though they protest; you have a right to them. You can even be really awkward and ask for a complete printout of your records and offer to pay for the print cost. Complain to the Practice Manager and hopefully you will find a better surgery eventually. I'm lucky with a fairly co-operative local sugery. No, they didn't and when I called for blood test results I was told I needed to see a GP. My urine tests were fine though.
I have : ham, tuna, tinned salmon, crisp breads, sausages, bacon, smoked sausage (no carbs), cheese, granary bread, grapes (yes, I know), raspberries, blueberries, coleslaw.
