I cannot stop eating chocolate. I crave it! I try not to buy it but somehow it ends up coming home with me! I nave been diabetic, type 2, for over 20 years. I have never had this problem to this extent. I have a sweet tooth. My BMs are around 7mmols. Anybody had this problem? As anyone got any advice? Thank you for reading.

I just buy the darkest. Leave it in the fridge and have a piece now and again.
There are other chocolates I like but leave them until Christmas.....

There are companies that sell sugar free chocolate. Personally I buy from Deliciously Guilt Free, expensive but lovely chocolate.

Sainsbury's has a sugar free dark chocolate bar, which I enjoy. But my favourite is Lindt 90% dark chocolate bar. Minimal sugar content, no artificial sweetener. 2 squares a guilt free treat. 85% also good. Btw, I wouldn’t refrigerate chocolate unless extremely hot weather demands. The Deliciously Free looks interesting. Thanks for the link @Rachox .

I LOVE chocolate too! I buy 85%* from Hotel Chocolate. They also have small slabs with nuts in them:)) The finger sticks*, I limit myself to no more than 2 fingers. There’s also dark chocolate brazils no more than 2. This is NOT a total I eat together every day Just a choice.
Yeah I’m a choc a holiday too

I think it’s very hard not to eat chocolate. I was and probably still am addicted to it. I believe it’s a true addiction. I couldn’t go a day without it, if I didn’t buy any it was constantly on my mind and I had to go to the shop to get some. I still do it but not as much as I used to. I eat milk chocolate, I can’t stand dark chocolate.

I agree it’s addiction - I thank my lucky stars I don’t have a sweet tooth. It must be very difficult for it to be constantly on your mind. Well done in reducing your consumption & sticking it out @Sarah69 I know from your previous posts how much you used to eat so you’ve done well

I love Hotel Chocolate too. The good thing about it, besides the taste, is that it’s so expensive that you make it last.

Cravings can be really hard to manage, especially with a sweet tooth. You’re not alone—many people with diabetes struggle with this. Sometimes healthier swaps or keeping small portions can help. Have you spoken to your doctor or dietitian about it?
