Covid vaccine

Not sure if they are doing it anymore I know in previous years they have always offered the COVID/ flu jag at the dialysis unit I go to this year they are only offering the flu one and the majority of patients at the dialysis unit are T1 . Do they actually do anything for COVID anymore other than when your an in patient

I don’t think being over 65 & T1 make you eligible this time around - the age is over 75 fi this one
This link gives all those that eligible, it’s a narrow group this time

I wouldn’t have that or a flu jab, there’s just no need for it.
I think that depends on personal circumstances. As a T1 I've been having annual flu jabs since my mid twenties and am grateful for it.

I guess covid is still a bit of a new beast. I'm in New Zealand where covid jabs are still offered so I'll probably have a booster next time I travel to visit immunocompromised relatives. (My dad is 95).

I’ve had flu once in my life & I was extremely ill & that was in my 20s, I always get the flu jab, never want to go through that again. People think flu is like a bad cold and those who say I’ve got flu probably just have a bad cold. Flu can be a killer even for the fit & healthy

I agree with @EllieM and @lovinglife . I have the flu shot every year. Influenza is very different from a heavy cold, as dreadful as a cold makes you feel, Influenza is very different. I’ve had the flu a couple of times in my life and on both occasions I was very sick. One minute you are going about your business the next minute you can barely move. You don’t know what’s hit you. Influenza is responsible for the deaths of thousands of people a year.

A lot of people say “I’ve got the flu “ the best way to know if you’ve got the flu is to be in bed saying I’ve got the flu if someone was to put a million pound at the end of your bed and says if you can get out of your bed and touch that money you can have it ! If you can touch the money you don’t have the flu. Flu is an absolute killer the last flu pandemic killed hundreds of thousands far more than covid ,

Was told the same unless you are over 75 are immunosuppressant or in a care home you do not qualify, blame the government she said

Exactly! When my son was a teenager he had flu over Christmas. He didn't open his presents until January.
