Is this the low carb programme you guys follow?
What does it entail?
I’m thinking of signing up to it for the £30 but not sure what is involved within it.

I wouldn't pay the thirty quid because I couldn't see screenshots or find out what was involved. I did however, find all the advice I needed from this forum.

Hi @Cana I did look at the programme about a year ago when it was free, but I also read books and the forums to get information. However, if you are the sort of person who needs a step by step education plan/action plan/programme then it could work for you. Basically you read information, do a 'quiz' and get the answers. There are recipes and you can ask questions. I did it for a few weeks, but stopped before the end.
Do you have someone to support and mentor you at home/work? If so, the programme may not be as useful to you as it would be for someone trying to change their diet and lifestyle on their own. I didn;t pay for it, and I'm not sure that I would pay £30. But, I did buy £30's of books........... I recommend https://www.diabetes.co.uk/shop/rev...60-quick-and-easy-recipes-by-dr-david-cavan-2

Cana - Have you had a look at the Low Carb Programm (LCP), freemium version, called "Essentials"? It's a sort of "try before you buy" version? It has limited content, as you would expect from a free version of a subscription service, but it has trackers and so on.

If you scroll down on the LCP home page, here: https://www.lowcarbprogram.com/ , you'll eventually see this image, with the option to sign up for the Essentials

Should you choose to look a the Essentials option you can always upgrade at any time.

The LCP is now available on prescription by your Doc, but not all are aware of it, or choose to prescribe it at the moment.

I hope that helps.

I hadn't heard of this, what a great idea. I signed up for the LCP when I joined DCUK (and it was still free then) but never dipped into it because I found all the guidance and support I needed right here on the forum. Other members' experiences served me very well but I can see how a slightly more structured approach would appeal to some.

I did complete the program but like @Resurgam I found it a bit frustrating to wait a week to see the next section. People learn at different rates so it would be better if you could move on when you choose to.

It does help thank you.

I’ll play with it for a while to see.

The low carb program here didn't exist when I was originally diagnosed! I was told to avoid sugary food, so simply cut out all the obvious sugary ones from my diet initially and then did the same with carbs when I realised that sugar was only a part of the problem. Later I based my early very low carb/ketogenic eating on the (original) Atkins food lists, and used supermarket nutritional data, Google, and a good dose of common sense, .and when I found it, our forum. But I was used to poking around (aka researching!) to get information for myself so it was my natural way to go. I looked at the Low Carb program when it first started, mainly out of curiosity, but I'd agree it's a bit of a slow path to follow. But that or Diet Doctor would be good resources if you prefer a more structured way of learning.
