A righteous ache in the quads today!
Sunny but cold day here today, I'd be tempted to go for a jog today if the legs didn't ache so much after yesterday's squats.

Thanks for the encouragement yesterday. The new statin seems to be going through the same settling down period like the last one. BGs go up a bit, but get a bit more strict about the diet and exercise for a bit and they start coming down again. I think they raise the cortisol levels which release glucose from the liver, body fat goes up a little and the FBGs go up. I guess it is down to the genes in the end. But it takes very little increase in body fat to change my FBGs as a T2. Other T2s can get way with a bit more, I guess there will be some who cannot even get away with what I can. Bit of a bummer .. but on the plus side .. I always looksbeach ready! Must stop shopping in Morrisons in speedos though! LOL :p

Great FBG & workout yesterday & all those steps
Don’t know how you can just have protein shakes though, do they all taste the same after you’ve added cocoa powder to them?
B/s back to behaving yesterday, sore throat still being persistent though
Suppose I’m lucky in I never have to watch how many calories I’m eating, I know a lot of people on here are trying to lose weight
Too cold for shopping in speedos yet
Have a good day

Awesome FBGs and workout!!

Yes .. I really have to watch my calorie intake. The body's upper limit for fat is now very low, it is very close to my lower limit which is what really makes it a bit tricky. If my body fat gets too low then it messes with the body's other hormonal systems and I feel really weak and tired. Slightly too high body fat and the BG levels go up. Throw in something unexpected like a new statin and it seems to throw a spanner in the works and I have to work on changing body composition again. Even though I might only be at 12% body fat. If it gets too hard as I get older there's always metformin. So it'll be ok. Lucky that we have the science and meds to deal with it better these days.

Hope you're having a great weekend :)

Sounds tough having to keep your body fat within a small window, makes food quite restrictive
How do you measure body fat?
Got results in the post yesterday, really unhappy with them a1c has gone up to 51, libre is saying 43 & reads high all the time
This number has been on my not therauptic dose of gliclazide, really thought it would be lower, strange but got more results for tests which weren’t even on the blood test forms
I’ll just have to be stricter with food, blood sugar is better if I just go for a walk in the morning & do no other exercise, my figure is well earned & I’m not giving it up
Going to do treadmill 30/30 intervals & quick run later then gardening while husband works
Enjoy the rest of the weekend

I can just imagine how it must feel getting those results. You know what though it really does sound like everything is pointing to MODY with you. And you've been having to cope with it without the input from a consultant who can provide the right treatment and med protocols. You've got a consultant now and you'll get a definitive diagnosis soon. It'll make a big difference. Try not to feel too disappointed my friend. And of course remember this is not in ANY way your fault. You are doing an amazing job with your diet and exercise. Your results give you and your consultant more knowledge, and that will lead to the right decisions for your management. Hang in there. Keep exercising, even if your A1C is higher than expected, the fit and healthy lifestyle you have will have a protective effect for you. One step at a time, control what you can and wait for the genetic test results and see what the consultant says.

Beautiful day out there .. get out and get some rays.

Big hug!

Not at all .. it is a perfectly reasonable human reaction mate. I'm really glad you finally are getting test results back and have a proper consultant who can give the advice and treatment needed to stay healthy. I'd be flippin' annoyed it took so long if were you too! But the silver lining is now, things can start to move forwards with the consultant. :)

Great workout routine, bet that punchbag is great for releasing any stress
Trainer even noticed how much more definition I’ve got on my shoulders, them made me go heavier with the weights, nearly up to 1.5 body weight on deadlifts & didn’t feel heavy
Definitely going to have to find a tape measure & measure body fat
Supposed to have an appointment with consultant in June, but it came through yesterday, video call on 19 May, hoping. MODY results will be back by then,
Hope you haven’t caught covid from your daughter
Have a good day, soon be bank holiday

Punchbag is awesome yes! Very good intense workout. Loved it out in the garden. If it stops raining later I'll do it again.
Sounds like you are making amazing progress with the strength training. A very good PT you have there! Well done!! You earned that physique mate. That's not easy. That's consistent hard work. Fantastic! 1.5 BW deadlift!! Brilliant .. and more int he tank from the sounds of it.
