Hello all, I am new to the forum and diabetes I have been feeling unwell for a very long time years, well i went away with friends on holiday and started to moan about feeling ****.
A friend of one of the other lads asked if I was diabetic and I said no, he explained that he was diabetic and asked if he could check my blood I agreed and it was at 38.9 on his little machine. Wow he said that's high you need to be checked out, but we were away for 2 weeks and it stayed in the thirties all the time we were there.
When I got home I was admitted in to hospital where I was told I was now a diabetic, they kept me in for a few days then told me to go home rest up for a few days and get my doctor to start my meds, I have been on 1000mlg of metformin and 80mlg of some other.
My question is how long until I start to feel well I still feel so run down and like I have a big weight in my head that moves from side to side as I move my head dry mouth, weak as a kitten my legs don't seem to do what I want them to my vision is still fuzzy.
I know people live a good happy life when they are diabetic but surly don't feel like this.
Any thoughts anyone please is 38 really that bad I am around low to mid twenties now eating no sugar very low carbs.
Hope you can help.
