Re: Flu jab 2010.

Wish they'd told me that. I have had to write in my diary a reminder for 5 years hence to renew mine. I think there must be different jabs depending where you have them done. When I asked them how long it lasted they didn't even know at first and had to go and find out.

Re: Flu jab 2010.

I will seek and find you . ...

I shall take you to bed and have my way with you

I will make you ache, shake & sweat until you moan & groan.

I will make you beg for mercy, beg for me to stop.

I will exhaust you to the point that you will be relieved when I'm finished with you.

And, when I am finished, you will be weak for many days.

All my love,

Now, get your mind out of the gutter and go get your flu shot!

Re: Flu jab 2010.

I didn't get a flu shot or swine flu shot last year and I'm still alive. Haven't had once since 2007 so am skipping it again this year. Living on the edge :p

You can go for years without catching the flu - but it only takes one time of catching it, for it to kill you.

Flu can lead to severe respiratory infections which in turn can lead to pneumonia, the young/old and those most at risk of infections (diabetes included) are advised to protect themselves with a flu jab.

I could walk under a bus tomorrow. Last time I had one it made me ill.

The choice is yours candi-girl whether to have the flu jab or not, I didn't bother for years until I was bed-ridden with flu for over a week, in this time I was really ill and it opened my eyes how vulnerable we are, ever since I opt for the jab every year.

Would it take me longer to recover from flu then? why? I don't even get colds.

Yes but you try and avoid walking under a bus, by minimising the risks, and looking before crossing the road.

The flu jab is the same, it is minimising the risk of very serious illness, that can potentially kill you.

I had flu years ago, before I was diabetic, I had two weeks off work and was not well for weeks, including tiredness and weepiness, my life was not my own for a couple of months because of the flu. I take no risks, even feeling ill after the jab is nothing like getting the real illness, and the effect it can have on my life.

Re: Flu jab 2010.

I think there is a subtle difference between "the flu jab made me ill", & " after I had the flu jab I felt ill". Can you specifically confirm candi-girl, that it was the jab that made you ill, or did you just jump to the conclusion?

My advice would be to have the jab. Unless of course you are immortal.

Re: Flu jab 2010.

OK, I assume it was the jab. I hate it and felt sick afterwards for a few days with a headache that wouldn't shift, just felt yuck and said I wouldn't have another for a while. I am not keen on getting one for swine flu too, just normal flu if they do them.

Re: Flu jab 2010.

Swine flu and normal flu jabs are bundled in together this year. I had it with no problems apart from getting flu which lasted for 3 weeks afterwards

I am disappointed to see members who chose not to be vaccinated being berated.
I too have declined.

I had a violent throbbing headache the day I had mine, came on about 2/3 hours later, but I was fine the following day and am glad I had it done. I have had the flu before, and I wouldnt wish to have it again.
